Frame ID help?
I just bought this 1971 Shovelhead and I have no idea what frame it’s got. There aren’t any markings at all that I can find other than the VIN Stamp issued by my state when the bike was titled by a previous owner.
Anyone have any idea what it might be?
Swiss Shovelhead
Not mine, photos taken yesterday at the Ace Cafe Luzern
Closed belt to open belt primary
I picked up a shovel that has an enclosed belt drive, to make it an open belt drive do i just need to remove the rear primary cover and swap it out for a trans support bracket or is there more to it?
Split rocker oil lines necessary? +10 forks, evo oil return
I drilled my cases and redirected rocker drains directly through the jugs on to my flywheels in an attempt to correct an excessive oil consumption issue
On top of that, I'm running 10 over on stock rake
Anyone have any idea if this would be an issue up top?
I'm not 100% sure how the oil flows through the rocker boxes. Does the rear fill up then pressure sends it to the front?
Just hoping for some insight
Baby's first time outside.
Figuring out what exhaust I wanna run, and waiting on my brass tubing to do the oil lines, and wiring stuff. But the first time it's been good enough to actually roll it out of the garage for a legit picture.
Talk me into or out of a late Shovel! (1980)
I came from a 103. ATM I have a Dyna with a Twin Cam 88, I’ve already done quite a bit of work on it, including engine work. Then I went one step back to an FXR with an Evo engine, on which I’ve also already done a lot of work. And the next logical step would now be a Shovel that’s currently for sale.
103" shovel
My machine for 48 years now. We don't get out much anymore but we're still together.
Life is good
“Ride to Work” day and “Break Down on the Way Home” day both fell on May 8th this year. Life could be worse. Precious Wife is on the way, the weather’s nice, I found some shade, and I have a parking lot beer!
Where does the throttle cable go?
1970 FLH shovel. Trying to see if this cable that was on the bike is too short, essentially when I turn the bars full left the carb sticks and doesnt like to return to idle/close. It also can raise rpms as it did it to me yesterday right before a test ride. The cable came down and went in-between the tank and the Vin plate, under the tank ontop of the rockers and then onto the carb. The little feed bracket in the last picture wasn't attached to anything and just had the cable going throught it with electrical tape and was resting on the rocker box. Can't seem to find anything that shows where exactly the cable routes, I know under the tank but unsure if it goes in-between the tank then under or through the "A" ontop of the dual tank line and then over and to the carb, any help is appreciated thanks in advance
