Glósóli (acoustic cover)
Hello! Hope you enjoy this, despite the shoddy attempt at pronouncing Icelandic words.

Details available on the YouTube channel. I’ve included a screenshot and my photos from the Royal Albert Hall.
Can’t wait for Edinburgh now.
See the link for a picture of him getting arrested. Man, I love this band so much and now even more!
The day before, Sigur Rós played their legendary protest performance—one of the few shows in which "Avalon" and "Samskeyti" features vocals. Does anyone know which band members were at the concert—besides Jónsi, of course?
Way back in the early 2000’s when I was first introduced to Sigur Ros I remember downloading a bunch of free mp3s from the 18 Seconds Before Sunrise website. That’s where I first heard tracks like Olsen Olsen, Dvergmal, Dánarfregnir Og Jarðarfarir, and…a live version of Vaka (Untitled #1) that I always believed to be superior to the album version.
Years later, after the theft of an iPod and the subsequent transition from downloading to streaming, I’ve lost this live version. Anyone know where I can find it?
EDIT: The track has been found by accessing the Way Back Machine. It is a live recording from a Vienna show in 2002 — https://web.archive.org/web/20071025030435/http://download.sigur-ros.co.uk/sigur\_ros-untitled1-live.mp3
I have some experience in tabletop gamedesign and special with RPGs. Also, besides Sigur Rós area passion, theyr imagery in videos, albuns and satges together with more "mystycal" content of theyr (no) lyricsinspires me world of fantasy. Its beem a while I´m planning a TTRPG just for pleasure. A game of storytellings quests for lost memories found in sounds over a country heavily "icelandic" post-world colapse, with a childish returning to live.
So, I have no ideia with SR fanbase use to play RPG, but I would love to hear your sugestions and opinions. Also feel invited :)
9 years ago, by chance, I happened upon u/forzaNYC's post: https://www.reddit.com/r/sigurros/comments/6i6r51/a_few_shots_and_thoughts_from_the_forest_hills/
They graciously offered signed Besta prints as a giveaway, and by some sort of luck, I won the drawing. I've lovingly kept these prints stored safely along with my small collection of Sigur Rôs ephemera, never fully opened. The time has come for me to share the joy of these with someone else by doing my own giveaway.
Giveaway rules: if you're interested, send me a PM with your favorite Sigur Rós song. I'll put the usernames in a hat and do a random draw tomorrow night. I'll then post the results here and DM the winner to arrange shipping.
EDIT: Winner selected!
Two of my favourite goats.
Five lp box! I love it so much 🫶
He was in Turku, Finland for a performance of his amazing opera, Der Klang Der Offenbarung des Göttlichen (only the fifth ever I think). I travelled from London to see it. He was kind enough to autograph my programme. I thanked him (twice!) for making some of the most beautiful music in my life and he was very friendly and polite in reply. I'm really very happy I was able to express my appreciation to such a wonderful musician. Thanks for reading!
Not just the ambient vibe of the project, but some passages from one seems to be the source for the other one.
"Sé lest Pt. 2" reminds me a lot the "Valtari" track last half.
"Milanó" reminds me "Ég anda" intro.
Do you believe that some material from "Takk..." was recycled in "Valtari" compostion? Just like "Ekki múkk" come from "Untitled 9"
