Tour posters

Last night in Tucson, I waited until closer to the end of the show to grab a poster because I didn’t want to mess it up in the crowd, and the person in line in front of me got the last one. I have this thing where I have to get a poster from every show I attend so I’m super bummed. I know it’s a long shot, but does anyone have one they’d be willing to sell me?

A too short clip of Christopher playing one of his favourites, Royal We—BUF May 12

Great question during Q&A about why cymbal was set so high. He borrowed a set from someone in the early days for a gig and didn’t want to change the set up on the person. A year later that person asked why Christopher had his cymbal set so high, lol.

Opening bands

Silversun Pickups is one of my favorite bands. If seen them live twice this year. I am always amazed by their choice of openers. Last year it was Girl Tones who rocked. This year Giant Waste of Man was fantastic. I made a playlist of their set and have been listening to it a ton.

What do y’all think about their openers? I think SSPU has good taste in bands.

San Antonio Show at the Aztec Theatre 05/17/26

Some photos I took at the show (and pre-show sound check) and from the Q&A. I asked Brian what his “go-to” guitar chord whenever he picks up the guitar and he said C#Maj. Awesome show.

A perfect cosmic alignment, twice

Today is my birthday, and this is the 2nd time I’ve been able to see Silversun Pickups on the exact day of my birthday.

I love Tenterhooks and I’m so thrilled to see the set list this tour. I haven’t spoiled myself yet. They are my favorite live show and I can’t believe it’s already happening again. Silversun Pickups are in my top 5 bands so this will be a special day, plus I’m having my favorite food and cake on top of it.

Those of you who go to the show tonight, be safe and have a wonderful time!

What song do you hope to hear? Praying for Thorns and All.

Grand rapids

Great show tonight. Never seen them before and I was pretty close for most of the night and they were so engaging! I listened to the new album for a few days on repeat and I'm so glad I did. I think I jammed hardest to the new stuff and it was wonderful. Interrobang in the encore was definitely the highlight for me tonight. Cheers!

Lazy Eye - Norwalk, CT - May 08, 2026

The final song of the night. "Lazy Eye" always brings back memories of the first time I saw them on the Letterman show (which I rarely watched because I can't stand Letterman). But somehow I was watching the music artist for that night - Silversun Pickups. At the time, when the song started, I thought….. "Hmm, okay, shoe-gaze stuff. Whatever." .... and then that deranged psychedelic guitar exploded, and I was hooked!

Well Thought Out Twinkles - Norwalk, CT - May 08, 2026

A note to those fans who haven't yet seen Silversun Pickups in concert -- you owe it to yourself to try and get to a concert. They are so much more powerful live than on the studio recordings. They sometimes sound borderline ferocious in their intensity. And you need to *feel* Nikki's basslines!

A few times tonight the band sounded near anarchic with only Chris' drumming and Nikki's bass seemingly holding it all together.

They played some songs from Tenterhooks, and I feel they blended in well enough with the older concert favorites.

This is my 16th concert, if I go by my calendar... and I say this every time after a concert ... they just keep getting better.

The final song tonight was a blistering "Lazy Eye", and if there is interest, I could post this as well.

I asked Brian about if Ragamuffin will be added to the setlist

He said no, but they will play it in the future, most likely 2027. Weezer tour is a no go (25 min sets) and they don't plan on adding anything to the current tour.

They also said this about Ribbons and Detours. This was during the Buffalo VIP soundcheck.

Buffalo - 5/12/26

Just wondering if anyone was at the Town Ballroom show and felt as if the sound was…off. I really struggled with it. I’ve seen them over ten times, they’re one of my absolute favorite bands, and it was honestly the worst I have ever heard them. The sound was muddy and I was so, so disappointed. I know it’s not the venue since I frequent there often. Does anyone have any feedback or thoughts, even from this tour in general? Is this the way the sound is engineered for this tour?
Thanks.

“Sanity is Rebellion” A Silversun Pickups, Tenterhooks Tour Review

I arrived at The Strand Ballroom and Theatre around 7:30 p.m. with no expectations. The night’s bill was Giant Waste of Man and Silversun Pickups. I walked in with a blank slate. I had never heard of Giant Waste of Man, and Silversun Pickups were mostly familiar to me by name. Aside from the hour I spent listening before the show, I had no real attachment to either band.

The Strand was already close to full during Giant Waste of Man’s set and felt packed by the time Silversun Pickups took the stage. The staff were friendly and professional, and even though the merch line stretched out, it moved quickly. With five bars throughout the venue, getting a drink was manageable, especially toward the back of the room. The two stage-side bars became harder to reach once the crowd filled in. Most of the audience appeared to be in their 30s and 40s, with a few younger faces scattered throughout the room. Quite a few people brought their kids, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. There was a mellow energy radiating through The Strand all night.

I was a little late to the show, so by the time I walked into the venue, Giant Waste of Man was already on stage. The first thing I noticed was how modest their production was. They were working with only the overhead lights, giving the set a stripped-down feel from the start. Their performance had enough energy and emotional pull to catch my attention, even though I was coming in completely unfamiliar. The saxophone was the detail that really separated their set. They also mentioned that a band member’s parent had traveled from California to see the show at The Strand, which made the performance feel more personal. They proved to be the perfect opener for Silversun Pickups.

When Silversun Pickups took the stage, the production immediately felt bigger. A row of LED blinders lined the stage, giving their set a more atmospheric look from the start. Blue and purple light moved through the haze, giving the room a dreamlike feeling before the band had even settled into the set. Silversun Pickups’ performance explained why I knew their name before I had ever spent real time with their music. They performed with a level of emotional precision that would be difficult to replicate, drawing the crowd into a trance of nostalgia. Their vocals and instrumentation stayed sharp from start to finish, giving the entire set a sense of control and confidence. The crowd was eating it up, clapping, singing along, and dancing to the basslines.

Something the lead singer of Silversun Pickups said toward the end of the set really stuck with me: “Sanity is rebellion.” I couldn’t hear the rest of what he said, but for some reason, that statement made me feel seen in a sea of people. It felt like a quote I could live by. As someone with no real attachment to either band before seeing them, I can say that both bands won me over as a fan.
If you love live music, support it. Buy tickets. Buy merch when you’re there. That is what keeps bands and venues alive.

What time do they normally start after doors open?

Going to Grand Rapids show Wednesday night. Traveling from a few hours away. Would prefer to properly time our trip with work and stuff. Anyone have insight into when they normally go on? Ticket says the doors open at 6:30, but I’m not a big Jim Morrison fan.
