I built a free app that tracks ActiveSG pool lightning closures — including exactly when a pool is expected to reopen (the thing ActiveSG won't tell you) 🏊♂️🏋️
A while back, someone asked ActiveSG directly if they could show post-lightning reopening times on their site or socials — for parents bringing kids to swim lessons who don't want to stand around clueless waiting for a lightning closure to lift.
That bugged me enough to build Crowd Tracker SG — a Singapore-only app tracking live + historical crowd levels at every ActiveSG pool and gym.
Free: real-time crowd levels for all facilities, and a push notification the moment rain or lightning is detected near your favourited pool — so you're not caught off guard on the way there.
The actual "when does it reopen" answer — a countdown showing exactly when the pool is expected to reopen (30 min after the last nearby strike, matching ActiveSG's real policy) shown right on the chart, plus a second alert the moment it actually clears — is a Premium feature.
