Great Adventure on a Wednesday Afternoon in Late August = Chef’s Kiss!

Visited Six Flags Great Adventure today on a Wednesday afternoon in late August, had a wonderful time riding whatever was open today. With El Toro, Mine Train, and Wonder Woman closed, I got on all of the coasters + the Log Flume with the exception of Skull Mountain and Dark Knight. While Skull Mountain is a childhood classic, I feel a bit too mature for it… and riding Dark Knight seems pointless now that we have Barrels of Fun (Ragin’ Cajun). Barrels of Fun is a walk-on while Dark Knight always seems to have long waits.

Rope-dropping Flash is a certified must since its queue soars to 45-60 minutes real quick. I got their first train of the day. Nearly every ride was a station wait or a walk-on following Flash, with the exception of Joker… I waited about 30-40 minutes in the early afternoon since it is a bad capacity ride in the very front of the park.

Speaking of Barrels of Fun, you have to check it out at least once during your visit. The way the ride spins at the very end hits different… it’s no joke. I guarantee you’ll be screaming like Ricky Bobby when he was on fire in Talladega Nights. “Help me, Oprah Winfrey! Help me, Tom Cruise!” Best wild mouse I have ever been on.

Wishing all future SFGAd guests an amazing trip!

When did Six Flags New England start opening at 11am and closing at 9pm on weekends?

I have been looking into Six Flags NE as I haven't been in about 10 years and was completely thrown off by the hours. Only open 10 hours on a weekend date in summer?? That is such a short time for a park of that size. Even my local park that is smaller is open from 10 to 10. It feels like it isn't even worth a visit anymore if you can't even do half of the rides in a single day.

ISO Six Flags 2026 red souvenir soda cup

In search of : a 2026 red souvenir soda cup from Six Flags. My husband melted my kid's cup in and it's a catastrophe. Does anybody have one they're not going to use again this year?

National Roller Coaster Day/One Train Ops Answer

Today Six Flags Fiesta Texas hosted its first Content Creator Day. At one point Josh Parisher, one of the park managers, explained why Six Flags chooses to run one train ops or close coasters for the day. It’s a combination of things like guest attendance forecasts, weather forecasts, and annual rides maintenance schedules. Video of everything is on my channel. We went on a behind the scenes tour that included Road Runner Express and Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger control panels. Afterwards we were unexpectedly gifted roller coaster wheels from Superman Krypton Coaster! We were also allowed to film on Road Runner and Iron Rattler with approved wrist-mounted cameras. I feel like more parks are starting to host these kinds of events

California’s Great America - Attendance 2026

I have been visiting CGA for the better part of the last 10 years. This season has far and away been the busiest and most crowded I’ve experienced in that timeframe.

I think having the World Cup games at (L**** Stadium) drove a lot of the extra traffic in June and July.

The usual attendance increase as the summer went on also pushed 90%+ every weekend and much higher than estimated on most days by queue-times.

This year feels to me like CGA could have actually turned a pretty significant profit for SixFlags.

Anyone have any insights or thoughts about if the increased traffic can help save or at least delay the closing of this 50 year old staple?

Hotels near Six Flags Great Adventure (NJ) that allow 18 year olds to make a reservation?

Does anyone know of a hotel near Six Flags Great Adventure that a couple of 18-year-old friends can reserve? Most require you to be 21. I’d like a safe area within 1/2 hour of the park, preferably around the Trenton area or town west of the park.

All-Season Drink Pass Not Showing Up for SF Great Adventure?

Bought a gold pass for SF New England and the All-Season Drink Pass to go with it. Shows up when my app is set to SFNE, but when I set it to Great Adventure, it's gone. Aren't both parks in the East region? Dorney Park shows my drink pass no problem. Please let me know!

Which one of Six Flags parks will get ArieForce One in the future?

I wonder what Six Flags parks can buy ArieForce One for their new addition coaster in the future?

My guess between Great Adventure and Kings Island. But my guess is Great Adventure because it needs for Shoreline Pier expansion in the future.

You need a law degree to parse the 2027 pass options

I have a current 2026 Gold/all parks (Kings Dominion home park) but planning a trip to Cedar Point next month, and likely won't be able to get to KD before that. So I think I can re-up for 2027 as Prestige with CP as my "home" park.

I know that the "perks" are only valid at your home park, but the bring-a-friend vouchers: good for any park or just "home"?

What about the photo pass? From KD: "Capture a season of memories with unlimited digital park photos when you add All Season FunPix to your season pass or membership! Get all your Kings Dominion professional photos in your digital library for every visit the rest of this season and all of 2027. All Season Photo benefits are valid at participating parks based on pass admission." So I think the photo pass works wherever you scan in with your pass but they make it a little abstruse.

Similarly for the drink plans: "All Season Drink Plan benefits are valid at participating parks based on pass admission." So I think this implies that you get your sodas and Icees anywhere you scan in, but again they could be more clear.

For the meals, they actually make it pretty clear that the 20 or 30 meal plans are only good at your home park. Now, this is dumb because it's a fixed number of meals so why do they really care where you use it? But OK at least they clarify exactly where they are valid. But they make you guess a little for the photos and drinks.

Also: membership VS season pass: why would I do a KD "membership" at $260 for 12 months when the 2027 Prestige is $227 and good for through the end of the 2027 season anyway? Just to have the payment plan or am I missing something?

I'm just trying to take my kid to Cedar Point but feels like if I don't do it just right I'm gonna get hosed in some way.

Terrible experience today at GA NJ.

EDIT: for the sake of not putting identifying info to the people involved, I won’t include times.

I have never in my life felt so utterly embarrassed by employees at this park. I’m sure there are some ride ops in here so please, explain how this nonsense happened.

For four years I’ve been riding Joker without a single problem at my height until today. I get sent to a loading zone and the ride attendant pulls me off the queue and tells me to stand next to this stick thing. I’m unsure why he’s asking so I stand next to it and he says I can’t ride. I thought he was joking and he was being dead serious. I told him I’ve been riding this for four years and I certainly didn’t get any taller since this morning. He shrugged his shoulders and just told me I couldn’t ride. So I walk out of the ride, go to my locker and get my stuff (since they’re so intense about having shit in zipped parts of your pants) and come back to measure myself at the front of the park. She was much more friendly and measured me three times and told me I was good to ride and then radioed the ride attendant (something about using the wrong stick) and told me to use the fast lane for the inconvenience. I go to the fast lane and the guy in front refuses to let me on because I have my phone in my zipped shorts. I politely explained to him the issue and asked if I could use the lockers for the fast lane. “Nope.” He didn’t want to hear it and just kept repeating the same thing. He then had me wait in that line after coming back from speaking to the ride operator for nearly eight minutes until someone came behind me and opened the chain for them. When I asked why am I still standing here he just repeated the same thing that I couldn’t ride without putting my stuff back in my locker.

Again, I know the parks have policies and this is what the manufacturer wants, but if someone is given a free fast lane as an apology for a mistake, why give grief to the customer instead of just letting them use the fast lane lockers and then on top of that have them stand there for eight minutes looking like an idiot??

Meal Plan stacking

I already purchased the 2026 meal plan, which is 2 meals per day, with 4 hours in between each. The 2027 plan says it is an unlimited number of meals, with only 2 hours between, and that if you purchase it now it will also be good for the remainder of 2026.

Does this mean that if purchased that 2027 plan now, the 2 plans would stack? I.e. could I get 2 meals simultaneously right away, then a third meal after 2 hours, and then another 2 meals after another 2 hours, for a total of 5 meals in 4 hours?

Do you prefer the plastic refill or paper refill cups at six flags great adventure?

I’m debating on whether I should buy the paper refill cup pass or if I should jsut get the plastic cup. I always bought the plastic cups I never really had a problem at sfga with people stealing it or whatnot. I’m not sure what to get, I kinda like the cool bottle. What is the process difference and what are your opinions?

Six flags over Georgia fright fest haunts?

Been digging around but it appears six flags over Georgia to see if they have said what their haunted houses/mazes/haunts are going to be this year, anyone have any info on it?

I know one of the other parks is doing final destination, another doing a "flights of cinema" while another is doing Jason.

I know one of the ones at GA is likely to be Saw (it always is) but I am not a fan.

Anyone have ideas or rumors of the other one(s)?

Six flags over Georgia

I went to six flags when I was a kid probably about 12 years ago. I remember a building for kids that had punching bags set up with padded floors and walls. Also I’m 95% sure that it was tiger themed. There were no lines you could just walk in. Does anyone else remember this area? I can’t find anything online about tiger themed punching bags at six flags.

Please help an old dude use season passes…

I know I’m out of touch, but please help me understand…I got a season pass, and I see it in my wallet on my app. I understand that I can have people scan the QR code on my phone, but I’m wondering if there is any physical/analog work around. My phone is usually dead, and even when it’s not I don’t like counting on scanning it because I break phones…I don’t wanna be the “back in my day” guy, but I’m used to having some sort of physical ticket or ID card or something…is there something I’m missing? Does anyone have a proven work around? TIA 🙏🫡
