Great Adventure on a Wednesday Afternoon in Late August = Chef’s Kiss!
Visited Six Flags Great Adventure today on a Wednesday afternoon in late August, had a wonderful time riding whatever was open today. With El Toro, Mine Train, and Wonder Woman closed, I got on all of the coasters + the Log Flume with the exception of Skull Mountain and Dark Knight. While Skull Mountain is a childhood classic, I feel a bit too mature for it… and riding Dark Knight seems pointless now that we have Barrels of Fun (Ragin’ Cajun). Barrels of Fun is a walk-on while Dark Knight always seems to have long waits.
Rope-dropping Flash is a certified must since its queue soars to 45-60 minutes real quick. I got their first train of the day. Nearly every ride was a station wait or a walk-on following Flash, with the exception of Joker… I waited about 30-40 minutes in the early afternoon since it is a bad capacity ride in the very front of the park.
Speaking of Barrels of Fun, you have to check it out at least once during your visit. The way the ride spins at the very end hits different… it’s no joke. I guarantee you’ll be screaming like Ricky Bobby when he was on fire in Talladega Nights. “Help me, Oprah Winfrey! Help me, Tom Cruise!” Best wild mouse I have ever been on.
Wishing all future SFGAd guests an amazing trip!
