Resale prices interesting this year

Usually one or two days before you could grab a ticket around £60, maybe even £50 (I got one for £30 one year) and this year there are loads and loads of resale tickets still at face value on Twickets and Tixel. Are people just not interested in making any money back even this close to the date? This is the first year I’ve noticed this!

Menzingers/Allister/TBS clash - help me decide!

Hey Guys,

I’m going to SD South and have most of my day planned out, but have a clash and would love to get people’s opinion on who to choose:

5.30pm-6.15pm - Menzingers - Monster Energy Stage Right

5.55pm-6.30pm - Allister - Scott’s Key Club

6.05pm-7.05pm - TBS - Main Stage West

I’ve never seen any of them live before. Allister are really nostalgic for me as I used to watch P-Rock (shoutout to the best tv channel ever) religiously & they were always playing on there. Menzingers I’ve only gotten into in the last 5 years but I love them & keep missing the opportunity to see them live, and then TBS I’ve liked since I was younger but wouldn’t describe myself as a hardcore fan and I’ve read a lot of comments about them being hit or miss live.

Has anyone seen these bands live before & got any recommendations? I can’t be bothered to run around from stage to stage seeing bits of each - I’ve done this before and you never end up getting into the set properly.

Kind of leaning towards Allister more, as the others both tour the UK fairly often.

Prescription painkillers

Love when this sub gets this much traction coz I know it’s coming soooooon.

Ye girls just had a c-section a few months ago and I’m still needing painkillers through the day if I’m moving about loads. Anyone ever had trouble getting in with prescription meds? I know some places require the box with your name on etc but I was hoping to size down as much as possible on them.

That said I’ll do what I need to do I spose!

SD North - Ground?

Hey All,

Given that the weather is looking decent, I'd like to avoid wearing the standard festival walking boots and just go with trainers.

I've not been before. Could anyone tell me what the site ground is generally like? I can't tell from Google.. is the site like a working field like a lot of festivals, or is it a public park vibe? I'm trying to work out if trainers would still get trashed.

Thanks

Still not received car park pass

UPDATE: Finally arrived today with a bunch of other post dated around 11/12 May. RM 1st class takes forever these days, so don't like how close to the event they're sending these out!

-----------

Anyone else still not received their pass? Any ideas what happens if it doesn't arrive in time for the festival? Was dispatched to my address on 12th May but still hasn't shown up. Royal Mail around here definitely save up letters and deliver just once a week now (if that!).

Have contacted SeeTickets via the contact form in the portal and currently waiting for someone to respond by email.

Street Parking Near Temple Newsam

Hello, has anyone had experience street parking in the neighbourhoods on festival day? The parking ticket purchase was misleading as it said you had until 20th May, but then didn't realise on FB it was different (don't have FB). Thank you.

Parking pass resale? Or alternate parking recommendations?

Made the mistake of not checking for a parking pass and I've left it too late. Only been to slamdunk once before and that was in like 2016 🫠

I don't mind having to park elsewhere except I'm now taking my 4 year old this year and I wouldn't want to make him walk 30+ mins before we are even there.

Probably asking for a lot for a pass to be for sale especially as it's a physical pass? Any recommendations would be appreciated

Edit: North

Slamdunk north - shuttle bus with a baby?

Hi there, been to slamdunk north before but this year have a 6 month old baby. Have always parked previously but somehow completely forgot to buy parking this year, and now it's too late. Just wondering if anyone has used the shuttle bus with a baby before? Is it a terrible idea? We can take a fold down pram but wasn't sure if it's going to be jammed full or if it's coaches. Any advice would be really appreciated!

EDIT: lots of people seem to be getting themselves in a tizzy about imagined situations that in all likelihood will not happen. Don't worry, I can guarantee that out of the 40 thousand people my baby won't be the one to ruin your day! He is very polite and has never even called a stranger on the internet 'moronic' or offered unsolicited advice. Hope that puts all those concerned minds at ease.

Help a middle aged man out?

Hi everyone I would love some help understanding some things. Now I have not been to Slam Dunk since it was back at the Uni. Now it is a bigger festival and a line up I could not say no to I bought a ticket. I am going by myself and looking at the map I will be on main stage east all day. But I just want to know what has changed and what I should expect.

I see Impericon have a tent on the map but its not a stage for example, basically if people could point out to me what there is that would be cracking! Not sure of it makes a difference but I am going to Leeds!

First time at Slam Dunk Festival! 🇬🇧 Question about getting to/from Hatfield by train from London

Hey everyone!

I’m super excited to be heading to Slam Dunk South in Hatfield this weekend! It’s actually my very first time traveling to England, so I could use a little bit of advice from you.

Our plan is to take the train from London to Hatfield in the morning, and head back to London by train after the festival ends.

Is this realistic? Are the trains reliable enough after the festival, or does it get completely chaotic trying to get back to London?

What’s the best way to buy train tickets? Book them in advance online ? Buying them at the station ? Any reliable apps ?

Is there anything specific or useful we should know about taking the train in the UK as first-timers?

Thank you so much in advance for your help !

Getting to Temple Newsam on Sunday

Never been to Temple Newsam before. Wonder what's the best way to get there from Leeds train station. Google's recommended a bus, but wondering if that's gonna be packed/full? Should I head to a different station entirely and taxi from there?

Will supply crowd-surfing services for good advice.

Edit: looks like the shuttle is the best way to go!
