game crashes during specific mission.

my game runs pretty good without lags or freezes, but whenever i start mission "final kill" after arriving to destination, screen just turns black and my pc is not responding to anything, so i havee to plug it off because otherwise it stays like that. is that a known problem? if so, how to fix it? About to start my first run

I'm about to jump in for the first time, expectations have been increasing. Does this Fandom has some kind of "tell me phrases I will understand later" type of thing?

Finally found a pristine sealed copy of Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition (Booklet Edition). Couldn't be happier.

As a physical game collector, this was a must-have for me.

I specifically wanted a factory-sealed Xbox One copy with the booklet/manual inside the case, since that variant has become much harder to find than the standard releases.

Sleeping Dogs is one of those games that deserves to be preserved. It's a masterpiece that still holds up today, and it's an honor to finally have it in my collection.

With Sony recently announcing that all new PlayStation games will become digital-only starting in 2028, preserving physical games feels more important than ever to me. Games like this represent a piece of gaming history, and I hope future generations will still be able to experience them the way they were originally released.

Sleeping Dogs is genuinely the easiest game of all time

I did a challenge playthrough on Discord with my buddies playing through the entire story at 200p resolution with no HUD, zero upgrades and nothing bought at all. I died quite a few times yes, but that's mainly because I got overconfident and didn't really play safe at all, but even then it was still piss easy lol.

The main issue that I had playing at 200p with no HUD was just trying to find the mission on the map and trying to see the enemies to shoot them.

Overall, still a wonderful experience.

Was this intentional or did I have a lucky moment?

So I got the mission from Sonny that asks you to plant bugs inside Vivienne's home. I get into my car and immediately Yellow Fever by Vivienne starts playing lol. I wonder if this is scripted to happen? I didn't even know she had a song in the radio.

Turns out the Wheels of Fury Derby Trials ARE required for 100% completion and the "Chief Inspector" achievement in the Steam version of Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

I was stuck at 97.4% completion for days, searching all over the internet trying to figure out what I was missing. Everywhere I looked, people were saying that the Wheels of Fury Derby Trials were not required for 100% completion, so I took that for granted.

I was absolutely CERTAIN I had done everything else in the game besides the Derby Trials. Out of pure desperation, I finally said "fuck it" and completed one of the trials just to see if my completion percentage would increase.

Sure enough, it did. I completed the remaining Derby Trials, and just like that I hit 100% and unlocked the "Chief Inspector" achievement.

I'm making this post in case someone else ends up in the same situation. If you're playing the Steam version of Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition and you're stuck at 95+% despite being convinced you've done everything, don't trust the old posts saying the Derby Trials don't count. They absolutely did for me.

Does the definitive edition on Steam require you to finish all the DLCs in order to get the Chief Inspector achievement?

Can someone who is absolutely certain please clarify this?

I think I may have made the police mad

You shoot a few cars with your DZS-90 & suddenly your being overrun with cop vans.

Would you like a prequel that you play as Wei being undercover in San Francisco?

It would make more sense everybody speaking in english if they are in america

I’m sad this game has such a small following

I just beat this game’s main mission line. This is the first time I’ve actually finished a game in I guess maybe 7+ years. I’m not much of a gamer as I was since my childhood. Here and there on a weekend I try to find a new game to relax and feel the spark I used to. With this game I finally did.

It felt like my first play of Saints Row 2 when I was younger. Gameplay wise — it’s a massive gameplay upgrade to me from grand theft autos. I felt the ending clearly set up for a sequel in the storyline. This games a masterpiece. This is the first time I ever enjoyed melee combat in a GTA-like game. Shooting felt special rather than repetitive. The parkour. The ramming improves chases and police escapes a lot. Hijacking. The racing Is better. What a masterpiece.

Now I’ll probably spend a lifetime praying for a sequel I’ll never get. I’m almost grateful I didn’t play this at release as I would have been googling for sequels annually this entire time.

I can only pray this game gets a post-release following & resurrection similar to the TV Series Dexter when that entered streaming.

What a massive shame.

Anyways, time to eat a Pork Bun.
