Manta Hymns THE PARTY

I'm waiting for you on Friday June 12, 2026 at 9:00 PM GMT+3 to listen to Manta Hymns together before its release. This album for me is not just music, nor production, nor anything technical. It is raw emotion, criticism of what hurts us, defiance given through heavy Post-Metal and Sludge

Opinions on Mugwart?

Feel like this band is severely underrated for the music they make. I understand they do have a small cult following, but I feel like they just are not popular enough. What are yalls thoughts?

Meeting Mastodon at Mayhem Fest (Camden, NJ - Aug. 15, 2008)

Not only did Mastodon announce dates for the "Poisonous Weapons" tour, but also released their first new song "Your Ghost Again" in nearly 5 years (and first since Brent Hinds passed away). I'm so grateful I got to see the band live so many times - even getting to meet them during a meet-n-greet at the inaugural Mayhem Fest's stop in Camden, NJ (Aug. 15, 2008). They played the mainstage a few months prior to formally announcing the release of their album "Crack the Skye" (which they teased in the poster they autographed that for the life of me I sadly cannot find). Brann, Bill and Troy were super nice and goofy - admittedly, Brent was in one of his infamous "bad moods" during the meet-n-greet (I even overheard one of their road crew members alluding to that), but all four appeared in top form onstage.

Stay tuned for more things to come from this space - including stories from concerts like this!

Is groove metal just sludgy thrash

I recently started listening to sludge and I'm now wondering if bands like Pantera, Exhorder, and Pissing Razors could be considered Sludgy Thrash instead of groove metal as groove metal isn't all that specific of what bands fall under it.
