Looking for friends lol

This is a joke, I love my friends and they are all aware of this post and give me permission on posting this.

Anyway I would love to make new friends that are good at snowboarding, or even if you are just keen in doing park laps to improve :)

If you are from AUS or NZ we should connect!
I will be going to some of the ski resorts probs more in NZ than AUS at the start of the next winter season.

If you have any tips on how to get cheap ski passes, good food, accommodation or any stuff like that I would appreciate your tips.

Thank you <3

building a 1v1 trick battle app for park riders

Hello, I'm Sian, a snowboard instructor, and I'm building SESH. An app made for competing in the park on skis or snowboard.

What is it and how it works

The goal is to make you better in the park, in a fun and smart way.

You create your account, find a 1v1 in the app, and get matched with someone around the world at a similar level. SESH figures out what tricks you can already do and what you should try next for a smooth trick by trick progression. With that info, SESH assigns the same trick to you and your opponent. Then you both head to the mountain, practice the assigned trick, film it, ask a friend or a random person to record you, and upload it. Once both of you have uploaded, you move to the judging phase where you rate each other's clip. SESH has both a ranked mode and a casual mode.

It also comes with:

  1. Personal stats. Your videos are saved so you can see your progression over time
  2. Add and compete against your friends
  3. A points system for competitiveness
  4. Rewards

I NEED YOUR HELP

I made a waitlist where you can show your interest and support. The waitlist also has a voting system so we can build SESH together.

And slightly less exciting, a changelog so you can follow the updates I'm making to the app haha

I would be incredibly grateful for your support!

Best short snowboard recommendations?

im looking to pick up a shorter-length snowboard and could use some advice. im interested in something thats easier to maneuver, playful, and good for quick turns-mostly for all-mountain riding with a bit of freestyle.

appreciate any suggestions or personal experiences. thanks!

Capita/spring break powder glider 158 or 162 190lbs geared up size 10 boots

Trying to decide between a 158 or 162 spring break powder glider. Mens size 10 boots, around 190 geared up. Leaning towards a 162 since my only other board in the powder/carver category is a 156 korua dart and the rest of my boards are longer carvers. Cafe racer, free carver, cheater etc

I'm comfortable on longer wider carving boards. I have been riding for 27+ years and consider myself a very experienced rider but I'm retired from the park/big tricks and now im just out to lay some trenches and chase storms.

Normally I wouldn't second guess this soo much but this one really has me undecided.

Anyone own one and mind sharing your specs? Wish you went bigger/smaller? Advice? Thanks

How I can level up? new board time too!

Been riding a 155 Burton Clash (5’8” 165lb) since 2014 and this past year I finally had a binding break with noticeable splitting at the front of board. I take about 1-2 trips a year since owning and classify myself as intermediate. Can carve/confident turns down the right black (no moguls), but prefer blues for speed and ease (straight line). Have even taken this through non groomed powder and realize how your back leg can hurt so much with the constant weight back. I can basic butter on this board and low level ollie. Just thinking my next steps are jumping more and higher with spins, also upping the butter trick game.

Considering a few diff all mountain boards like Ride Shadowban, K2 commonwealth, Gnu antigravity, CAPiTAs (if I can find them in stock), or sticking with Burton models. Should I also look in getting a shorter board down to 152? That could help the freestyling as well as I believe the clash I have may be slightly too long.

Any help would be appreciated!

Bindings distorting the bottom

I left my bindings on when I put on my storage wav and while the bottom feels smooth, I can see the wax sticks differently in a double oval pattern under the binding.

I know I should have taken the bindings off first, but I didn't, is the board irreparably damaged? Will I even notice?
