Chat is 100% vibecoded and is the worst thing on reddit, it prevents me and my mods from chatting

Known chat bugs that have not been patched for months:

Chats do not load sometimes as seen in image 2

Chat shows black box instead of messages as seen in image 3

Chat shows 1 icon on the top despite no new messages

Chat history is massively delayed, The mod messages you see on image 1 are from days ago, there is a lot of new messages that have been sent through chat since then, in image 3 you can see the preview being something from today, But image 1 shows something different: both of those screenshots are from today, in image 4 i am unable to scroll further down

Chats from months ago suddenly appear in requests meaning not all chats will ever come through to the user you are attempting to message

Upcoming changes to the comment ID endpoint

Hola devs! 

Just a quick note on an upcoming change to how comment IDs will increase going forward. 

TL;DR:  if you have anything in your code that expects comment IDs to be fewer than 8 characters you will need to make an adjustment. 

Technical gibberish details:

  • New comment IDs will continue to be 64-bit integers and base36-encoded, but will not be monotonically increasing anymore
  • The key visible difference is that the new base36-encoded comment IDs will be up to 13 characters long (e.g. 19gsnavtu46ip), compared to the current 7-8 characters
  • With the t1_ prefix, the new base36-encoded comment IDs will be up to 16 characters long (e.g. t1_19gsnavtu46ip)
  • Older comment IDs are not changing, and referencing them will not break anything

This change will start rolling out the week of May 18th. Let me know if you have any questions about this change.

what causes this weird markdown rendering? on old reddit it displays with all these extra words, brackets, and parentheses, but on shreddit and the app it appears normal.

i'm mainly wondering what caused the comment to be typed this way in the first place. I assume it has something to do with the crappy "rich text editor"?

How come this subreddit's old.reddit CSS theme doesn't color links in comments? Makes them hard or impossible to tell apart from normal text.

This is why I don't use Reddit in Turkish.

Native speaker here. Feel free to ask me for explanation.

I know, Reddit started to support Turkish recently (late 2025) but all the translation errors you've seen should have been fixed by now. Images are from Shreddit and the Android app. Old Reddit (not shown) partially supports it and the translation isn't better.

Correction for the third image:

>Devam edersen Kullanıcı Sözleşmesi'ni kabul etmiş ve Gizlilik Politikası'nı okuduğunu belirtmiş olursun.

A better sentence for the 14th image:

>Takipçilerinin listesini yalnız sen görebilirsin. En son takip edenler en üstte gösterilir.
