Kenku.fm/Spictify login bug

So im not sure if this is even the place to post this but i saw other kenkufm posts here so what the hell
So im the DM of a campaign for my friends (we play online through discord for context) and for ive been using Kenku.FM for a while to play background spotify music for immersion BUT i gotta say as of lately ive been using Spictify a local mod for spotify to make it look different and give additional applications to the app version But when i started using Spictify i would open my Kenku to play dnd and it would be logged out for some reason it would also log out DURING the session and i dont know why Then when the session ends i would go to listen to music with spictify and my Spictify would be uninstalled and would just be normal spotify No idea why
I dont think it has anything to do with Spictify cause Kenku acts as a browser so it shouldnt even be messing with my Spotify install but if anyone knows why this is happening id REALLY appreciate it cause its really annoying
Or maybe an alternative to Kenku so i can continue to play music for my party

I brought Toastify back to life — Toastify Reloaded, a modern Windows companion for Spotify

Some of you may remember Toastify, the lightweight Windows utility that added global Spotify hotkeys and highly customizable track notifications.

I really liked the original project, but over the years Spotify and Windows changed enough that the old application became increasingly difficult to use.

So I started working on Toastify Reloaded.

The goal is not to replace the original Toastify with a completely different application. I want to preserve the classic Toastify experience and UI while modernizing everything underneath it.

What Toastify Reloaded can currently do:

• Global Spotify hotkeys that work even when another application is focused
•Play / Pause, Next, Previous, Seek, Volume and Mute controls
•Classic Toastify-style song notifications
•Automatic toast width based on the song title and artist
•Spotify album artwork inside the toast
•Toastify icon fallback when album artwork isn’t available
•Optional song progress bar
•Optional current time / total song duration
•Configurable Fade In / Fade Out
•Slide and Fade + Slide animations
•Independent Slide In and Slide Out directions
•Multi-monitor support and positioning presets
•Full toast color customization
•13 built-in toast themes + Custom
•Light, Dark and Follow Windows application themes
•English and Italian interface (ATM)
•Import / export settings
•System tray support
•Spicetify / Lyrics Plus integration
•Automatic repair of Spicetify after Spotify updates
•Compatibility Guard to detect Spotify version changes
•Automatic Toastify Reloaded updates
•Normal Windows installer and uninstaller (ATM)
•Windows x64 and ARM64 builds (ATM)

Toast themes

The current presets include:

Classic Toastify, Spotify Green, Midnight Blue, Neon Purple, Cyberpunk, Crimson Night, Amber Gold, Emerald, Ocean, Sakura, Arctic, Monochrome and Retro Synthwave.

The original Classic Toastify appearance is still available and remains an important part of the project.

Why “Reloaded”?

A big part of this project is making Toastify resilient to modern Spotify updates.

Spotify updates can overwrite Spicetify modifications, so Toastify Reloaded includes a Compatibility Guard that can detect when Spotify changes version and automatically attempt to restore Spicetify and Lyrics Plus.

The actual playback controls are kept separate from Spotify’s UI and use Windows media sessions, which makes the core functionality much less dependent on Spotify’s internal interface.

Credits

Toastify Reloaded wouldn’t exist without the original Toastify project.

Special credit goes to:

nachmore, creator/maintainer of the original Toastify GitHub project
Alessandro Attard Barbini (@aleab), maintainer of the later Toastify fork and the historical 1.11.x generation that became a major visual and behavioral reference for Reloaded

Toastify Reloaded is an independent community continuation. The original developers are not responsible for this project or its new code.

Open source

Toastify Reloaded is open source under GPL-2.0.

GitHub repository:

ToastifyReloaded

There are Windows installers available directly from the GitHub Releases page.

The project is still actively evolving, so I’d really appreciate feedback from people who used the original Toastify.

In particular, I’d love to hear:

what features from the original Toastify you consider essential;
what you’d improve in the current UI;
ideas for additional toast themes;
animation ideas;
Spotify/Spicetify compatibility issues;
anything that would make Reloaded more useful without losing the simplicity of the original.

Bug reports, suggestions and contributions are very welcome.

Classic Toastify experience. Modern Spotify compatibility.

Volume slider is sluggish after installing Sleek theme

Slider was working fine with Sleek on before I started messing with the scheme color and now I cant seem to get it to work. Ive done a full uninstall of Spicetify and that hasn't seem to have done anything. All extensions, themes, and snippets shown in attached vid. Thanks for the help!

Spicetify not working?

Edit: Found the issue... I needed to roll back Spotify to an older version to make it work. What I used to do it:

Rollback-Spotify GitHub

This version: 1.2.83.461(For windows) (Try 1.2.86.502 for Linux. Be aware I have not tested that version) (Thank Front_Radio6812 for the versions)

This command in cmd(Windows only command): iex "& { $(iwr -useb 'https://amd64fox.github.io/Rollback-Spotify/run.ps1') } -version 1.2.83.461"

Then install Spicetify: Spicetify site

Spotify sometimes shows something went wrong can a theme cause this?

It seems to happen randomly and clicking reload page immediately fixes it.

Could this be caused by a specific spicetify theme or extension, or is it more likely a Spotify/Spicetify issue?Has anyone else experienced this? I’d also like to know why it happens in the first place, since reloading fixes it every time.

Any ideas on how to properly fix/prevent it would be appreciated!

Custom Spotify Client

Hi All!

Recently learned about the spotify API and I’m wondering if it’s possible to create a custom desktop app for spotify (seems like a fun personal project!) I’m not really sure what kind of things are accessible with the api and I haven’t used one before.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated! Thanks :)

What's the catch with Spicefy?

I just wanted to ask if there are any risks/concerns I should know about before trying it.

It's just that in this day and age, it's hard to believe that there's a free tool that can not only make Spotify look better but also prevent it from playing 2 minutes and 30 seconds of ads every two songs.

Like for most free things like these, there's always something; maybe it includes malware, or the extensions that you download on it can have malware, or the creators are bad people and did evil things like kicking puppies and kittens for their entertainment, or using it is like super duper illegal, and it's the same as pirating a show, where you have to pay a fine or even go to jail in some circumstances, in the unlikely event that you get caught because you weren't using a vpn. Now, said examples are pretty extreme, and I don't actually think any of that is the case, but I just want to make sure everything is fine.

I appreciate any and all (serious) answers to my inquiry.

A few non obvious points about keeping Spicetify working

Disclaimer: I'm a paid Spotify user and use Spicetify only for its trashbin and genuine shuffle plugins.

I don't know if someone has covered these points before, but to start with: yes, Spotify will de-Spicetify your Spotify if given the chance. Wouldn't you, if the software in question lets you skip ads and emulate a paid account in other ways?

Now, the following script to freeze out spotify updates does work for me when put in a .bat file:

del "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update"
mkdir "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update"
icacls "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update" /deny "%username%":D
icacls "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update" /deny "%username%":R

It deletes any pending updates for Spotify, then creates the Update folder again, but denies access to it to yourself so that your Spotify can't fill it with new update files.

But for awhile there I had a worse form of Spicetify failures where it required a reinstall *every time I started Spotify*.

Having checked that I was indeed running an outdated version of Spotify, and that indeed manual attempts to update Spotify keep failing (as designed), I realized the problem is that the same hack that killed Spotify updates was also killing *Spicetify* updates / installs.

The solution?

Update to the latest Spotify, install Spicetify, restart Spotify, add all the extensions you desire, check that they all work, *close and restart Spotify* and check that all the Spicetify extensions are there and working still (i.e. they have been fully baked into your copy of Spotify via an "update"), *then* freeze out spotify updates using the script.

The following script will re-enable Spotify updates whenever you feel like it, or as required when your local Spotify install gets too stale to work with their servers:

icacls "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update" /allow "%username%":D
icacls "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update" /allow "%username%":R

Hope somebody will find this enlightening and not too many people will find this to be a case of clogging up their forum feed with something too basic :3

spicy lyrics is unbelievably amazing! Have to admit I'm a sucker for various lyrics extensions and this one gets the cake. Memory usage reasonably a bit high but it's worth it.

Why do we have to keep updating spicetify ?

I have genuine doubt like why is it everytime spotify updates we have to update spicetify to is it something like spotify detects spicetify and removes it like it resolves the bug or something or is it just because spicetify doesnt support the version ?

Ongoing Sanrio Theme by me

So after searching a lot i wasn't able to get any really pretty chunky '00 vibe theme so I made a chunky design inspired by Y2K and sort of cartoon design; I've currently made cinnamoroll and kappa no kappy from sanrio which is under progress as I've some breaking overhead tabs to fix and will work on Hello kitty in the future along with kuromi and my melody (Hello Kitty and My Melody are almost completed since all 4 are the light themes) so i want your guys opinions. ≧▽≦

I have done these:

  1. Successfully implemented the shadow borders.

  2. Uniform bitcount over the headlines and tags.

  3. Border shadows and music display on scroll.

To be fixed/implemented:

  1. Music Player Bar

  2. Contrast overshadowing the search and profile menu

  3. Playlist Outlines

  4. Cursor on this page.

Any kind of help right now about UI any sort or suggestions or any additions you like is heard and highly highly appreciated.
