I have a 4S RC LiPO that has got a bit too hot on several occasions due to the stock tuning of the electronics forcing them to pull a ton of amps. Because of this, the LiPO has begun to puff. When warm, the gas between the cells and the soft casing expands until the casing protrudes 3mm or so above the cells. It can be pressed back down, but there is a decent amount of pressure. Otherwise, the battery seems to function alright.

So my question is, at what point should a spicy pillow be considered too spicy?

Edit: I’ve been told by another who uses this brand LiPO that this puffing isn’t usually something to be worried about. The cells themselves aren’t puffed; there is a cavity between the cells and the wrap that fills with gas over time. This is accelerated by the battery getting particularly hot during runs. IR while charging is ranging between 1 and 3.5, indicating the cells are still in pretty decent shape.

Yeah, I advise anyone who is sane to NOT buy a Powerbank from Temu.. Any advice on how to get rid of this without blowing myself up. It's been outside this entire time and it has been rained on a couple times im pretty sure, no smoke or anything just a very large spicy pillow... I dont want to touch it honestly since I feel like I will lose a hand xD

This cheap, old power bank had been sitting in a box with some cables in the attic for years. I have no idea when it started to swell. Since I’m worried it might catch fire or explode, I put it in an old cooking pot with a locking lid and sealed the openings.

Seguinte, trabalho como faxineiro e aqui no prédio a galera joga muita coisa fora, seja por que quebrou coisas simples, seja apenas porque compraram novas. Hoje um morador jogou esse powerbank fora, pois comprou outro e o estado da carcaça tá só o pó como podem ver nas imagens.

Ele disse que está funcionando normal, o botão ao lado quando aperto, acende as luzes na frente onde tem as entradas USB, o único problema que vejo é a carcaça que tá toda quebrada. Estava pensando se só meter uma isolante por cima e fé daria certo, mas nunca mexi com nada de bateria e de até tenho um certo receio de me tornar usuário medo da Samsung e ir de Vasco com esse troço no meu bolso/mochila.

As informações que tenho é que é da marca Fresh 'n Rebel e parece ser o modelo Fresh n Rebel 18000 2PB1810. Fora isso, tô perdidinho tentando saber como fazer ele ficar "seguro" e poder usá-lo, já que não tenho powerbank atualmente. Odeio jogar coisas fora e adoro consertar, mas o seguro morreu de velho e eu me cago com bateria. Agradeço desde já e fiquem com Deus!

Did not expect to disarm an honest to god bomb today

A cheap solar charger overvolted the pack and ruined the cells. Remember to use high quality stuff on expensive system folks. They ripped themselves apart from the base and tore off the laser welded tabs on the center two cells.

Found my fiancées old iPod like this, the case has an engraving and she would like to keep it if possible.

I’ve had some experience with opening/ fixing a variety of electrical items, but not one with a spicy pillow.

Is it safe to carefully remove the pillow (I’m thinking just snipping any attaching wires to dispose of it safely)

My "car radio" (aka my 1st gen iPod touch) stopped responding to touch last week. I brought it inside and left it on my desk, and noticed... boop! It's screen is lifting off! A spicy pillow is born!

I will try to post followup pics at some point; naturally I want to save it, since it's opening itself up so neatly, and I now realise the touch function was likely only broken due to the pressure of the inflating battery pack against the back of the touchscreen (yikes), but I want a bucket of sand handy before I dive into full disassembly.
