Starting to realise I've been drawing Petra incredibly similarly to how I draw myself... relatability does weird things

As a trans woman and longtime Spider-Man fan, I thought I’d jump on the trans Spidey bandwagon and make this comic. If people like it, I might make more.

I drew Petra a little differently than I’ve seen most doing it, especially for this comic. So few depictions exist of pre-HRT trans women that I thought it was important to show her as such here. Her design is more specifically based on how I looked pre HRT.

I love the Petra Parker trend, but I gotta say that I love the symbiote angst with her even more.

I love how a majority of artists depicts the symbiote boosting Petra's hormone production making her develop feminine traits faster, which is what she wants, but at the cost of making her more aggressive/act like a jerk, like how most media outside of the comics depicts Spider Man when he bonds with the symbiote.

So then when the time finally comes that Petra has to take the symbiote off, the symbiote plays into her gender dysphoria in an attempt to stay bonded with her. Saying how she is not only a better hero, but a better woman because of it, hell, some people like do double down on the edge by making the symbiote say that Petra cannot be a REAL woman without it.

It just adds a new level of depth and conflict that I enjoy seeing Petra go through and then overcome very much

What should her name be? I'm leaning towards Maya Morales myself.

I’ve been waiting for someone to remember that Spider Gwen was implied to be trans in ATSV, but finally we have T4T Petra Parker/Gwen Stacy Transfem Yuri! It wasn't just me who thought this would be peak!
