Tips on helping my wife.

Hello everyone. My wife has recently asked me to help her do at home spray tans. It will help her feel more confident and I want to do a good job. I've never done this before, but i have a fair amount of experience in using a spray gun. I've painted everything from car body panels to miniatures for dungeons and dragons. Does anyone have information on the amount of material going through the sprayer and how to apply it? I want her to feel as beautiful as I see her.

Suggest be the best body wash to remove stubborn tan

I already use a glycolic acid toner for my face but if I start using it on my body too, it will be finished much faster that's why I'm looking for body wash

Most purchasers saying Chemist at Play is overhyped and doesn't help with tanning so which one should I go for? mCaffeine, The Derma Co, or something else?

Pls suggest some budget friendly options, preferably under 300 350.

Life hack: exfoliating AFTER application?

Like everyone else, before my new tan I'll hop in the shower, exfoliate all of my skin, towel dry, apply tan, leave on for 6-8 hours, and shower again. But last night I was tired and skipped exfoliating (even though I had the freckle-style patchy tan and was desperate for it, guilty of missing moisturizer this week). I applied tan over all my patchy dead skin and fell asleep. Woke up, showered + exfoliated. My tan turned out a little lighter than usual, but I dont have a single streak on me, not even my hands. It turned out so even! Now I'm wondering if I should exfoliate after instead of before. Has anyone else tried this?

First spray tan ever using the VersaPro and I think I messed up 😩

I followed the instructions inside the booth, and the girl at the front desk said it would walk me through everything. One thing it didn't do was tell me how to positions my arms and hands, and when I come out, my right arm was significantly darker then my left.
Also, my lower body is not as dark as my upper body. Had this happened to anyone else?
I would try it again though- now I know what to expect but it was tricky for a first timer.

Expectation vs reality

Hi! Newbie here to spray tanning. I’m very pale and overall splotchy looking. I got my first spray tan and I didn’t want to look unnatural so I asked for a subtle healthy glow. I’m wondering if I didn’t ask for the right thing or if my expectations aren’t aligning because I don’t think I look any different. For frame of reference, I don’t have any tan line from my underwear.

I went to a spray tan artist and got a rapid. I did not have on any lotions. When I did the rinse, no color came off me with the water.

Wax before a clear spray tan?

Hello! First time spray tan in the works!

I'm having my eyebrows waxed and tinted on Saturday, would it be unadvisable to get a clear spray tan later that afternoon?

I've done a lot of reading on prep/aftercare but haven't found anything for this specific scenario.

It seems that the bronzer can cause speckles on freshly waxed skin, but will clear solution have the same issue?

Otherwise, I'll have to get a spray tan on Monday during my lunch at work.

Would I be able to wear regular office clothes after my appointment? I assumed that baggy clothes are advised so as to not smudge the cosmetic bronzer, but I won't have that in my solution.

Thank you for reading and I appreciate any helpful advice or comments offered

Newbie and very lost haha

So I can't tan on my own. I have tried so many times. I just burn and it goes back to my normal skin. I've even worn sun screen to be out longer and I never get any darker. I am considering a tanning bed. But I was told they are super bad. So I started looking into spray tanning. But I have read so many mixed on what to do and not do.

Massage hours before spray tan

Hi!! I'm a regular spray tan customer, I get them about every 1 1/2- 2 weeks. Tomorrow I didn't realize I scheduled two appointments, I have my massage at 12pm and spray tan scheduled at 5pm.. I've already done my exfoliating prep today and I don't apply any lotion or anything after. Now I'm worried the massage oil is going to mess up the tan.. should I just come home and shower again and lightly exfoliate before going to get the spray tan? Luckily this tan isn't for anything special, I just like being tan lol. Any advice is appreciated!!

I spray tanned myself with mouldy green spray tan

First time showing bare legs in public.

Wanted to remove some of the winter white.

Whip out a can of spray tan from who knows when

Proceeded to cover my entire body from head to toe with said can of spray.

Noticed when I was doing my legs over the shower tray that there seemed to be green spots in the shower tray.

Paused to inspect the nozzle only to see army green surrounding it. I then tested it in the basin and my worst fears were confirmed - the spray was camo green.

I didn’t know spray tan expired.

I immediately jumped in the shower and washed everything off. Waiting now to see if it still develops.

My worst fear is that I did this in a small bathroom with the door closed. And have probably breathed in 1 million tiny green spores.

TLDR: I covered myself in (and inhaled) mouldy spray tan.

Bisexual spray tan artist!

I’ve been a spray tan artist and salon owner for almost 10 years. I’m bisexual and have a male partner but haven’t fully came out other than to friends. I’m in the Bible Belt and I’m afraid if I come out I might make some clients uncomfortable or potentially lose their business. Are there any other queer spray tan artist out there with any advice?

underboob pale

hey!! so i’ve gotten a spray tan before but it was like 4 years ago and i have boobs now lol and i went to get a tan at pbt a couple hours ago and it didn’t get under my boobs at all it’s noticeable. I know i need to wait until it develops and wash off, but if it’s still splotchy there could i add a gradual lotion fake tanner in that area? i’ve fake tanned myself plenty over the years but i wanted a spray tan before my vacation and i didn’t even think about this being a problem.

Spray tanning- Palm beach tan

I last spray tanned over 15 years ago. I have done research for PBT and read other threads but I am confused about the bronzer. Some say to its best to have it added to the spray. Others say to purchase your own and do it afterwards. If I did it afterwards I would feel like I might as well skip the booth. Is there a true difference in the quality of tan??? Is it expensive to add it???

Also, I am very neutral skinned. I tan pretty easily, but will burn if I’m out in the sun too long- like an hour. Then it will tan. Self tanners will give me an orange tinge. What would be the best bronzer for me.

I am so embarrassed, peed in the booth

Let me start by saying I am an avid rule follower, respectful and very hygienic clean person.
I recently went to get a spray tan. I am a pro at spray tan booths for many years. This particular week I was recovering from a urinary tract illness therefore causing frequent and uncontrollable urination. I literally could not hold my pee more than like 30 seconds, my bladder was very weak.
I was in the booth getting the spray tan and I get the urge to pee. I’m so sorry. I tried to hold it in but just couldn’t.. (you know how that is. We’ve all been in that situation, right?) I had to just let it go or I was going to mess on the floor of the room and I didn’t know what else to do.
I know the booths do a self rinse at the end of every spray tan. I am hoping and praying the booth rinsed it all out and the poor girls who work there don’t notice. Please someone tell me it rinses itself and the employee sprays the booth after each guest with a cleaning solution..? I feel absolutely terrible and embarrassed. Is there any one who can relate, had this happened to anyone else? or is there an employee that can explain the cleaning process of the booths? Just want to put my mind at ease.

Jergens self tanning products help!

Hi all,

I have a ton of scars I’m hoping I can cover up with a fake tan. I’m pretty light right now but I have olive skin that usually would tan very nicely on its own but because I have scars I don’t want to risk further damage. I’ve been looking at jergens tanning products, namely the lotion, instant sunless tanning moisturizerand bronzer, and the tanning mousse. I have never applied a self tan before. I did grab the lotion but perhaps was a tad too overconfident and got the medium to dark skin tone one, lol. That was a tad too dark to start with and looked a little orange on me. My goal is the most natural looking tan for olive skin, with no orange undertones, that will not make my scars look worse.

Any help and/or other recommendations for self tanning products on the cheaper end please share!

First timer - airbrush spray tanning questions

Hey all! As the title says, I'm going in for my first appointment getting an airbrush spray tan tomorrow. I also got surprised with plans to go over to a friend's house for board games tomorrow evening. I was going to wear long sleeves and long pants so only my hands will be exposed, but is there anything else I should be doing or other precautions I should take to make sure I don't leave bronze stains in my wake? Also, any other advice for a first timer?? I've already got disposable underwear and I've been advised to do all my showering/waxing/shaving/exfoliating four hours beforehand.

Palm Beach Tan Grift?

Has anyone ever experienced issues at Palm Beach Tan with the four position versa spa pro? I had been using the other machine w/ 2 positions. You have to pay for a bunch of additives (rapid enhance, extra colors so that it doesn’t turn out orange, clear coating so it stays, etc.) which they call “the kit” in addition to your spray tan cost or membership fee. You have to pay $17-23 each time for this kit. One time I went, the two position machine was broken and so they said I could use the four position machine. This was news to me. I did not have any awareness that was in my membership. The four position was much better, and there was no expensive add-ons. Recently, I’ve been doing the four position versa spa pro and it’s incredibly light. The first time I thought I was making it up, but I just had my third spray tan with that machine and I even moved from medium to dark and it still looks like I barely got any coverage. I’m wondering if they’re putting the light mixture in the dark compartment so that people think somethings wrong and go back to the expensive machine… Has anyone ever had issues at Palm Beach Tan or what the versa spa pro all of a sudden not showing up after it’s been working for months? Part of me is thinking this is intentional because when you do your tour for the membership, they don’t advertise the versa spa pro, they only advertise the other one with the expensive add-ons so it seems like they don’t want you to know you don’t have to pay for all the extra stuff…
