Want to be tan for Wedding in October

I have a wedding coming up in October and I want to be tan but I’ve never gotten a spray tan before. I’m thinking of doing a trial run in August and September leading up to the month of October but I don’t know much about spray tans in general so I’m looking for some advice or guidance

St Tropez Bronzing Mist

I’ve done 2 spray tans at home using this. So far pleased with the results.
Some tips - prep night before like you would for any pro spray tan. Sounds silly but used panty liners on bottom of my feet (like the sticky feet at the salon). I spray in my shower and turn on the bathroom fan, rinse the shower afterwards.

Do I need to stop tretinoin/retinol a week before if I’m not peeling?

My skin has finally stopped peeling, really don’t want to start that process over.

Spray Tan for TV

I am about to go on TV (Jeopardy!) for the first time and, in addition to studying my ass off, I am looksmaxxing a little to boost my confidence. So I’m thinking about dojng a spray tan. I’ve had spray tans before from Sugared & Bronzed and I usually do a level 3.

I don’t want to look orange on TV, so I was considering a level 1 tan. I would be so appreciative of any advice on how this level of tan will look on film from professionals or users with experience in this area.

Thank you tan community! 🌞

Want to buy a spray tan machine, but where do I learn how to use it?

I’ve been thinking about buying my own spray tan machine, but I’m a complete beginner and I’m not really sure where people actually learn how to use one properly.

Are there any good online courses, tutorials, or training programs you’d recommend before buying a machine?

I’d mainly want to learn things like how to apply the tan evenly, choose the right solution, avoid streaks, and properly clean and maintain the equipment.

Would love to hear how you learned when you were starting out!

How Can I Fix It in One Day?

I had a huge difference in color between my shoulders and arms, so I thought I’d use a spray tan on my shoulders to even things out. Unfortunately the tan ran down from my shoulders onto my arms and now it looks really bad

Massaging in an airbrush tan for pale skin

Like 20 years ago I had the most amazing airbrush tan person. She would airbrush each section and then rub it in, buffing the edges. I would lay down on a massage table while she did it and I’d flip over half way through. My hands, face, feet, everything was perfect. Does anyone know what this technique is called? I can’t find anyone who does this!

Now no matter how much I pay for an airbrush tan it ends up looking spotty in places bc my skin is so pale. If they leave my hands without spray, they look awful. If they try to do my hands, there’s always white lines on my wrists feet and fingers. The only way to get good even color is to do it myself. Which is time consuming and my back is impossible unless my husband is around to do it. Sigh.

Best portable spray tanning setup?

I’m looking into getting a portable spray tan setup and would love to hear what everyone recommends.

What’s the best option if I want something that’s easy to transport but still gives professional results? I’m mainly looking at portable spray tan machines, tents, extraction systems, and anything else that makes mobile appointments easier.

What’s everyone’s fav darkest solution right now?

I have a few very fair clients who are looking to get dark. Because of their undertones, I need to buy a few new solutions. (Also one of them doesn’t want a rapid). I usually get my solutions on Amazon or directly from the product website as I am freelance. Thanks.

Got my spray tan yesterday… orangey ?

Took the plunge and got a professional airbrush tan yesterday. I asked for brownish tan vs an orangey bronze tan. I rinsed only last night and today I feel like I look very orangey bronze. Please tell me when I wash with soap later today the real color will come through. I’d think the orangey undertones are outdated given how modernized and costly this.

Was told not to wash spray tan off four minimum eight hours?

The lady who did my spray tan told me this, but I know generally people rinse straight away and then have a second shower hours later. Are there types of spray tans where this is normal, or do u think I’ve misunderstood the beautician?

Technician sprayed my face twice

Hi! I just got spray tanned an hour ago by a technician and will wash off in 8 hours. She went over my face twice and I’m worried it’s going to be too dark. I am blonde and super fair so I don’t like my face being as dark as my body. It should be a light-medium ish tan once it develops. Please tell me it is going to look natural when I wash it off. Is there anything I can do to keep my face from getting too dark? I wish I told her to go over it once only! It is just very alarming every time I look in the mirror 😆

Best spray tan solution for ocean water?

I currrently use norvell one in a foam bottle and it faded fast but I’m not sure if it was either the spray sunscreen I was using (which I now know is not good for spray tan) or if it was the salt water?

When I was in the Mediterraneanu ocean , the water not only stripped my tan off day one, but stripped even my nail polish off !

The Pacific Ocean water isn’t as salty so it doesnt seem to do it as bad but still not sure.

Any suggestions?

Compatible sunscreen, makeup remover, etc

Hi! I plan on getting my first spray tan soon and wanted to ask about the products I use and their compatibility with spray tan longevity.

I like using my kid’s lotion sunscreen:
Coppertone Waterbabies

And for my face I’ve been using:
Biore UV Aqua Rich

I use Vaseline body lotion and a tannologist gradual tanner sometimes.

And for makeup remover I use a micellar water to protect my lash lift, are there any other lash lift safe makeup remover that hurt a spray tan? I also use Tazarotene and Vanicream face wash and moisturizer.

And I use the salt and stone bodywash with an exfoliating mitt.

Thank you for helping me with my questions!

Wedding Weekend Tan

I just got my first spray tan today (around 4:45pm) I have a rehearsal dinner tomorrow (5:30pm) about 3 hours away

How long should I wait to shower? I was told I should be fine to shower in the morning, but will the tan look darker if i leave it longer?

Can i shave my legs after rinse off? I have a short dress and hate the feeling of any leg hair.

Can i do my regular skincare routine or should i skip everything but moisturizer?

Body lotion after? I keep seeing mixing reviews on lotion right after the rinse

When the tan starts fading - is there a product I should buy to get the tan off so it’s not splotchy?

I’m honestly only worried about the tan looking good for the wedding. I would love it to last longer, but i’m realistic…
