Trying to make a spellblade

New to the game, with very little experience with ttrpgs in general. However, I've always had a deep love for the red mage of FF. I've done a little research, but it seems like the more I dig up, the more there is to understand.

What I think I know: either going Mystic or Technomancer. If we go Mystic, we grab Warmonger or Crusader as a connection (unsure as to which to go with). If we go Technomancer, we grab Junksword and Junk Armor. Either way, we grab Spell Seargent.

So, my question is: What spells would you recommend? Which class or connection would you vouch for, and more importantly, why? And, most of all, is there a good resource out the for how the game is meant to play out? I see a lot of numbers on Archives of Nethys, but they mean very little to me. Given I feel committed to taking on a spellcaster role, I feel I at least owe it to the table to have some research done before I sit down.

Gun Runner's Warehouse

Moving along dark edges of the criminal underworld, gun runner Angus “Mayhem” O’Malley provides illicit weapons for a price.  He operates out of secret warehouse.

The Gun Runner Map features a ground floor and upper loft levels in day and night versions.  It is available in gridded/gridless JGP [256 dpi], gridless PNG [128 dpi], and lit/unlit VTT [70 dpi] formats at https://www.patreon.com/GimmiePig.

This map pack was created (by a human) with Dungeon Draft software and assets from the amazing asset creators listed on my profile.

Experimental armor prototype tracker sheet help?

I am looking to create a new character for my GM's session. I want to make a experimental armor prototype mechanic that uses a exo suit. But I need a good tracker sheet to track everything. Can I have help with this? Also it needs to be printable cause this is a public meet up.

I started working on a hacking mini-game/tool for my players. It started getting out of hand and I wondered if others might find it useful. What do y'all think?

It's just a proof of concept at the moment, so be gentle, but I'd appreciate any feedback!

Can anyone identify these planets?

I found this image on the profile of one of the artists who works for Paizo (Rogier van de Beek). I can't tell if this is official content, but the logo suggests it is. That said, I was wondering if anyone recognizes any of these planets and in which products/sourcebooks they appear

Proposal: Character to represent "credits"

Every culture comes up with some sort of symbol or abbreviation for their currency, but the Starfinder setting doesn't do this for the Credit. (Mind you, I don't have the Pact Worlds book but I'm pretty sure it wasn't addressed there either.)

In the interest of covering this base, to give players and GMs a simple way to denote credits, I propose the following symbol from the Character Map:

#₢

Historically, it's the cruzeiro sign, which was originally used for Brazilian currency, but the fact that it combines a C and an r makes it a good fit for the "credit".

New to the Game: Which Edition Should I Play?

I tend to like systems which allow for a lot of character customization but are also reasonably well-balanced. What are the major differences between the editions? What are the major differences between the editions? I tend to like combat-focused classes, though magic-users are also fun (can I play as Iron-man)?

Classes and Flexbility

Class Flexibility

Which classes allow for the most options when it comes to deigning good or strong builds (not necessarily incredibly optimized)? I prefer playing classes which let me figure out which of several paths to take rather than characters with just a few clearly defined options. Thank you!

Marvad, Trox Nova Academy Student

Here’s a commission of Trox species I did, hope you like it! That character was super fun to draw, and I think that ancestry is really underrepresented

Races connected to axis. Missing?

I am very interested in looking at the different races in the game. when I got to the planar scions I saw that there was one for each of elemental planes and one each for the good, evil and chaotic planes. but what about the lawful plane, axis. in pathfinder there are the aphrodites (if im not mistaken) which are a playable race infused with power from axis. but Starfinder doesn’t have one. is there a reason why the Aphrodite is missing. and if there is one that I’ve missed do you know where to find it?

Starfinder races

Are there any races in starfinder that have to live in containment suits or just have no choice but to be in one due to being dangerous to themselves or the environment?

Map of Dead Suns 1 final boss

Hi all!

Been looking to start the AP with some friends and, looking at the map of the Drift Rock, are the PCs supposed to fight the Garaggakkal in that tiny strip of map?

Have you fought it there? Have you used an original different map (please share it if you have!)?

Statblock creation question

I am gearing up to run my first SF 1e game shorty and I have read through the rules and have a solid grasp on most things.

Statblocks however leave me immensely confused on one aspect. Gear

I for the life of me can not figure out if you are just ment to entirely ignore weapons for statblocks and purely go for the damages listed on the arrays or if you are indeed meant to give them weapons of level = CR and use the weapon die + CR

Premade statblocks seem to use weapons and have their damages be the weapon die but the rules themselves dictate that gear is inferred with the numbers on the table and therefore not needed so what on earth am I going to do here??

Pre made statblocks in general seem to just not add up with the tables by a few numbers here and there too so I am entirely confused.
