What is the Cantlah System??? Mysteries of the Galaxy Map

I am a SF2e player. I love the Starfinder setting and I decided to learn every single thing I could about it. For the most part I found answers to almost all of my questions except for one: what is the Cantlah System?

To my knowledge, the Cantlah system is mentioned in exactly one place: the map of Desna's Path presented in the SF2e Galaxy Guide. I can find no reference to it anywhere else in 1e or 2e. This is strange given that the Galaxy Guide map mostly contains the most popular/important systems/planets in the Starfinder setting. What is this one random, 4-planet system doing in such a prominent location??? I have catalogued 450 named planets and moons accross Desna's path, but the Cantlah System eludes me.

Please, if anyone knows the Cantlah System, let me know the source. At this point, I conspiratorily think that it is a yet undisclosed setting for a future AP. However, I do not have access to the entirety of the Starfinder Society Scenarios. Perhaps it is mentioned there?

Interestingly, there are a few other parts of the Galaxy Guide map not mentioned anywhere else in the 1e/2e literature, though they are less intriguing:

  1. Daegox 1, 2, 3
  2. Tabrid MAJOR
  3. Galriona and Padrisine from the Morlamaw Colonies
  4. The star, Akoa, in Kazmurg's Absurdity
  5. Zinn-3 and Suovenir from the Zinn system
  6. Saaruq 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7, and Ruaan Prime, 2, and 3 from the Kreiholm Freehold
  7. The fourth moon of Vesk 5

There is also a single typo on the Galaxy Guide Map. Thenekral from the Azlanti Star Empire is a star system (containing the planets Desenev, Ghaggath, Parin, and Clasoon), and not a planet as shown on the map.

If you have information on the Cantlah system (or any of the others listed), leave a comment!

Made a character design for my first Starfinder dude

Played this big guy a few days ago and had a blast. Andraste is very much a man of action and murder, he doesn't know how to open emails but he DOES know how to open a ribcage or two.
If you talk to him for 5 seconds, however, he's liable to show you endless photos of his wife and daughter.

I also ended up designing said daughter, she's a young hacker who sorts out Andraste's passwords and emails, as well as remote hacking the occasional sentry turret or robotic enemy for her dad. I think they make a good team!

Actual plays!

Any good actual play Starfinder podcasts? Especially if there are characters like a Shakalta or other kind of symbiote, kinda like Cosmic Crit's Asher & Skye.

Thank you!

Here's a Skittermander I drew,

Hello, I've been working on this character over the past week on procreate, it took me 25-30 hs, I feel pretty good about the results but I'm looking for feedback of any kind.

weapon fusion seal rules question

"A fusion seal affects only weapons of a given level or less, as noted in parentheses after the name of the fusion seal. For example, a holy fusion seal that could be applied to any weapon of 10th level or lower would be written holy fusion seal (10th)."

"A fusion seal can’t be added to a weapon if doing so would cause the weapon’s total level of fusions (including the level of the fusion seal) to exceed its item level"

So does the second rule quoted here only apply if the weapon also has another fusion? Otherwise applying a fusion seal (10th) to a weapon less than 10 as in the first rule example would always exceed its item level and conflict with the 2nd.

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who replied; I did not realize fusion seals had a lower level bound as well as the seal level and that the weapon fusions normal level threshold still applied

Computers Skill Question?

Ok, this is probably gonna be a "Yes, duh," question about hacking items. If the player wants to hack something they don't have physical access to the controls to, like say a camera, they need a computer tool kit? And if they don't have that, they can't make the check? But if they have access to the actual controls, say the BBEG's personal desktop, they can?

Starfinder Rogue - Preview 01

Hello friends, I made a few Rogue options that fit in Starfinder 2e, I think the rogue is one of the easiest classes to adapt to Starfinder 2e, so I wanted to start with that one, including two new rackets and a bunch of feats. These are intended to work as additional options for Starfinder instead of a full re-fleshing of a Rogue, however, some classes might need a little bit of rewording to work better with Starfinder (or not, we will see)

As always, this material is FREE on our Patreon. You can also find a PDF version there. If you want to see more, please support us there by just following and sharing :D

What do you think about this material? would you like to see more?

Starfinder Actual Play wants YOU!

Niall here from No Quest for the Wicked! You may know us from working with Paizo for the world premier of Starfinder 2E, or the Gifts Ungiven live show at PAX Unplugged. Or you may know us from our multi award winning first season Reckoning!

We're currently in the middle of Season 2 of our homebrewed Starfinder actual play (you don't need to have listened to season 1, although it will add to the experience) and this time we're letting you take part!

Make an in-world faction, vote on city council matters that shape the very world we play in, and even add quirks conflicts and catastrophes to the hands of fate themselves...

We've had special guests from 3 Black Halflings and Transplanar on so far, with more to come.

So if getting involved in an actual play in an unprecedented way sounds like fun, or if exploring a mysterious planet that just appeared in the solar system sounds intriguing...

Come check out No Quest for the Wicked, Season 2: Frontiers!

Sell me on Solarian - I hear they’re the highest combat damage class

I probably blind but my friends keep telling me they have the highest damage output in combat. I see a lot of pseudo-Paladin adding CHA to things, and some minor damage scaling… but I feel like a soldier or operative out-damage them with the right weapons/builds. Am I missing something?

Edit: SF1e

How do you start a campaign in the default Starfinder setting?

First of all, sorry for my English (I'm Brazilian).

I'm interested in starting a Starfinder campaign using the default setting, but I'm not exactly sure where to begin...

I think the Starfinder setting is amazing and extremely detailed, but also very complex. The huge amount of options and information ends up making me feel a bit lost.

How would you guys start a campaign in such a vast setting?

Looking for a starfinder 1e game

I've been looking in a lot of places for a starfinder 1e game to join from discord to random websites that host listings and I haven't found much if any. I really want to get into the system and play, but every time I find something that's 1e, either the dm wants it to be livestreamed and everyone to have perfect internet connection and webcams, or the slots already full.

I can use discord, but nothing that requires a vtt due to some hardware issues I guess.

My timezone is GMT-6 and I'm available from 1pm too 1am.

I have experience in Pathfinder 1e, dnd 3.5 and one larp all as a player.

Hephaistos - Online Character Creator v153

Website: https://hephaistos.online/
Patreon | Ko-fi | Redbubble | Bluesky

Hey Everyone,
The website has been updated to version 153 with the following improvements and fixes:

Improvements

  • Transferring containers to and from the Drone inventory now also transfers all items contained within.
  • Items in the shared inventory can now be sold.
  • Broken Armor, Shields, Items and Weapons are now marked in the Sheet > Inventory section.
  • The sorting of the Creation, Homebrew and GM Tools lists (by Name, Created, Updated) now persists across browser refreshes/restarts (similar to the light/dark mode).
  • Incrementing the Power Points in the Sheet > Quick section of the Mech builder now only increases the total by 1 (instead of the Power Core's rate).
  • The sidebar for the Devastating Hit Power Point ability in the Mech Sheet > Quick section now lists the increased damage for all weapons.
  • The sidebar for all the weapons in the Mech Sheet > Quick section now shows their level and where they're installed.
  • Aeon Stones are no longer included in Magic Item count on the Sheet > Inventory page.
  • Item Ring of Genie Calling now includes descriptions of the spells it references.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed item Mobile Hotelier not requiring a battery.
  • Fixed various typos in the description of the Mech Weapon Swordwhip's ability.
  • Fixed ammunition being hidden despite the weapon or item it was installed in not existing anymore.

Hephaistos 2E

https://sf2e.hephaistos.online/

  • Added ancestries, backgrounds and spells from PF Player Core 2.
  • Added backgrounds from PF Player Core 2.
  • Added Gunslinger class and archetype, and firearms from PF Guns & Gears Remastered.
  • Ammunition and upgrades can now be homebrewed.
  • Added tabs in the Inventory section to partition equipment based on type.
  • Updated Pathmuncher JSON export to correctly include Upgrades (as part of Weapons and Armor), Rituals, Formulas and Focus Spells.
  • Fixed incorrect level attribute boosts in the Pathmuncher export JSON.
  • Encumbered and Maximum Bulk limits in the Inventory section now have sidebars which can be used to override them and show sources.
  • Companions now have the effects of their equipped items applied.
  • Fixed not being able to add temporary HP to Companions.
  • Added missing language Aballonian.
  • The title of the browser window/tab now changes to match the name of the loaded Character, Creature or Homebrew (if any).
  • Fixed typo in the description of the Artist background.

Finally, I've removed the "Beta" tag from the website banner, which I've been meaning to do for a while. The website is stable enough that I feel comfortable doing that, but obviously that doesn't mean its "done". There's plenty of content and features to add, and bugs to fix, and there always will be.

Following on from last release's post with stats for ABCs from Hephaistos 2E, I've made some more graphs, this time for Heritages, General/Skill Feats, Class Feats and Spells which you can see here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/157953164

My bbeg and the galactic emperor of my homebrew

Have been running a homebrew game for a year so far that i called void reaver, and stopped because of a school, got to reveal the bbeg before I left ending the first half of my campaign. Meet veikerah rasil, aka skittering chaos, or swarm emperor, and the other the emperor of the known galaxy.

New to the game and obsessed

**TL;DR**
Checking back into the fold after a two-year health hiatus! I'm a DC-based engineer, a massive Starfinder fan, and an aspiring GM. I'm currently looking for VTT groups to get back into the swing of things and eventually start running my own tables. I just deep-dived back in with a 20-book haul--now I just need a crew!

Hey y'all! Re-introducing myself to the community.

I'm a woman in my 40s and a lifelong gamer. As an only child, I spent my youth staring at D&D books, but I didn't actually get to play until after the pandemic. I'll be honest: the transition to the table was a bit of a curveball the math, the group dynamics, and the constant version shifts were a lot.

Eventually, I wandered into a local game store, tried Pathfinder, and loved the depth. To me, the "new" D&D felt a bit watered down. But then I found the **Starfinder 2E** playtest and it was love at first sight. It hits all my intrests: technology (I'm an engineer by trade), space magic, and high-fantasy adventure.

Living in DC, the commute to an IRL Starfinder game is often an hour plus, which isn't ideal for consistent play especially since I've spent the last year+ focusing on my health and mobility. I briefly looked at Warhammer, but the whole "painting and assembly" thing is definitely not my jam.

**Where I am now:**

I've been away from the table for two years and even donated my library when I got sick, but I'm officially back. I just picked up the SF2E GM Core and a fresh 20-book haul during the Paizo spring sale (I tend to deep-dive into my hobbies).

Since my local scene is quiet, I'm looking to dive into the VTT/LFG world to get my feet wet again. My ultimate goal is to train up and become a GM because, as they say, "if you build it, they will come." I'm especially interested in finally mastering starship combat--I hear it's complex, but I need a good technical challenge to keep my mind off health stuff.

Happy to be here! If you have any advice for a returning player or an aspiring GM, please point me in the right direction. I'm looking forward to making this Reddit my new home.
