Would casting Dream of Home be anathema to Desna?

Basically the title.

Desna's anathema is as follows : Foster despair or terror in the innocent, cast nightmare or use similar magic to corrupt dreams, engage in bigoted behavior.

Dream of Home: Drawing on the magic of the kasathan Pillar of the Homeworld or similar homey memories, you overwhelm the target with pleasant visions and thoughts of their home, whatever that means to them. If the target fails the saving throw, they become fascinated for the duration. If the target saves, they're fascinated for 1 round instead.

"Cast nightmare or user similar magic to corrupt dreams."

Would this be a corruption of the person's dream as the spell only directs the target of the spell to devise their own dream of what home means to them, or would casting the spell itself be a corruption of a their dreams and taking away their freedom or autonomy?

I'm leaning toward it being anathema but thought I would see what the community thinks.

Looking for 3 players for a longterm Starfinder campaign

Hey! I'm looking to start up a Starfinder 1E campaign based in my own universe. Using any race that exists, with pretty much any idea you have. I've got a homebrewed ship system, and it's on the hard sci-fi side of things (Think The Expanse mixed with Dune and Sun Eater).

We're looking to meet Saturdays at 12PM PST.

My only requirements are that you are 21 or older, able to commit to a long term campaign, and are reliable. If this interests you, send me a message on Discord @ pseudo_su and we can talk more and I can provide you with more info. Here's a teaser/something to get your brain in the right mindset:

You crew a mortgaged salvage ship in a frontier region that was settled two centuries ago and is thriving. There is no faster than light travel, so voyages cost years and you sleep through them. Something is wrong out here, and it is going to take a long time to find out what.

> BERTH NOTICE 14-B
> Posted at Ashgate Waystation, Cassidan Reach. Renewed quarterly. > > Independent hull seeks crew. Salvage and survey work, courier contracts, general haulage. Void-born preferred. No world, no dirt name, no family plot. > > Applicants should expect long voyages. The Guild rates the outbound run at eleven years of station time. Those with people waiting are advised to write ahead. > > Terms discussed at the berth office. Ask for the Berthmaster. > > Filed under the authority of the Chantry, whose records are complete.

Small Arms, Operative Weapons, and Armour Advice

Hi all! I recently started playing Starfinder (1E just to clarify) and I've been really enjoying it so far. We've been playing for a few months off and on and my party just finished the first module of Signal of Screams and are moving on to module 2. I'm playing an Operative and started with an Advanced Semi-Auto Pistol, a Red Star Plasma Kukri, and Lashunta Mind Mail I at level 7. At level 9, I still have the same two weapons, but managed to nab some Advanced Lashunta Tempweave. We are finally getting the chance to shop for new gear... and I realized I have no idea what sorts of things I should be looking for. What guns and weapon damage types are good? Should I be focusing purely on Weapon Fusions? Questions like that and since everyone, even the GM, is relatively new to Starfinder, no one really has any advice. https://hephaistos.azurewebsites.net/character/1385539739 This is my character if that matters for what may or may not be good. I'm not looking for spoilers for future stuff in Signal of Screams; just general advice and such or recommendations. Thank you all in advance ^^

[Commissions Open] Paizo Official artist + Recent work and Commissions

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted here!

For those who don’t know me, I’m Guilherme, a freelance concept artist and illustrator, and I’ve had the pleasure of working officially with Paizo on Starfinder and Pathfinder for over 6 years now.

A lot of what I’ve been working on lately is still hidden behind the mysterious walls of NDAs 👀, but in the meantime, I wanted to share some characters I’ve had the pleasure of creating for Starfinder and some comissions for the awesome people from this community!

And the good news is: I finally have a window open for commissions again!

So, if you have a Starfinder character that has been living only in your imagination, character sheet, or campaign for way too long, I’d love to help bring them to life.

I absolutely love seeing the characters and crazy ideas people come up with for this universe, so don’t be shy about reaching out — aliens, androids, soldiers, mystics, weird space creatures... I’m here for it.

Working with Paizo has been an amazing part of my career, but being able to create characters directly for the people who actually play these games has always been something special to me.

Thank you so much to everyone here who has supported my work over the years. I really appreciate it, and I hope I can continue being a small part of your adventures across the Pact Worlds and beyond! ❤️

Commissions are currently OPEN!

If you’re interested, feel free to send me a DM and tell me about your character!

You can also check out more of my work here:

Thanks, everyone! And I hope to draw some of your characters soon! 🚀

The Skirmisher (Operative speciality), now reloaded

I thought the it could benefit from a few changes. Tell me what you think

Skirmisher

You specialize in close-quarters missions that require you to operate in crowded or tight spaces, such as inside buildings or vehicles, down narrow alleys, or in busy downtown streets. Whether you're a mugger, bodyguard, assassin, or urban mercenary, you favor pistols and can use them efficiently in tight spaces. You're trained in Acrobatics. You gain a skill feat for Acrobatics.

Exploit

You're trained to fight in close combat using pistols. Your ranged Strikes with one-handed ranged weapons don't trigger reactions that are triggered by a ranged attack.Additionally, you're always prepared for a fight.

Trigger You are about to roll initiative.

As a free action you Interact to draw a one-handed ranged weapon. At the beginning of your first turn, you can Aim as a free action.

Enhanced Exploit (9th)

Your constant movement keeps your opponents off balance.

Frequency Once per round.

If you moved at least 10 feet immediately before making an Strike with a one-handed ranged weapon, that Strike also applies Suppressive until the start of you next turn

Signal of Screams 2e Conversion Guide, now completed!

Hi there, I'm the person who has already posted some conversions guide for the adventure paths of Signal of Screams before. I said I would comment after improving it.

Here we are, I was able to play through my own conversion, made some changes here and there and I'm now proudly presenting this as a gift to the community (well, pay-what-you-want-gift :P).

With this and the original AP, you can GM Signal of Screams in Starfinder 2e with little problem. I hope you will enjoy it!

Boxes?

So I've recently ordered all the optional cards for Starfinder 1e thanks to the huge Paizo sale, but once sleeved, they don't fit in anything. So, I'm looking for a box that would fit both critical decks, the endless NPC and planet decks, and the reference cards. I've looked at a few deck boxes and stuff for other games, but I kind of just want a box, ideally with 2 columns and maybe some way to put in spacers/tabs. I'm assuming someone somewhere must have gone through something similar, so any help would be appreciated. I'm UK based if that has any bearing.

Lumi & the xenomycelial Empire Division 42 (XMED-42) - Squentu Healer Mystic

Art by u/geckoz

This is my current sfs character, they were part of a gigantic entu empire in Agillae-2 until they got separated by a starship collecting different life forms. Lumi was also on that ship and able to get out of her cage, knock over the container and become the host of a civilization of microscopic fungi. Now they work for the starfinder society, collecting data and new alliances until they can reach their home planet again. Lumi behaves just like a normal curious squox, while the XMED-42 offers the knowledge and wisdom of millions and guides Lumi with telekinesis while operating the computer system on her back and sending complex telepathic messages.Their vitality network works by single fungi establishing a temporary base on the skin or fur of their allies.

Protean, Rifti Ranged Attack Range Incriment?

Trying to find the range on the Random Energy Ray attack, but I can't find it on the statblock anywhere. It's not a weapon, so I'm at a loss here.

Also, does it still get Range Increments with this attack?

I made a starship builder!

I'm running a Starfinder 1e Campaign that is almost entirely homebrew. Since I'm not using core rulebook starships and I still need them to be balanced, I made a starship builder that's portable and doesn't require any installation or anything. You just download, extract, slap the batch file and build.

I originally was just going to use it for myself, but then I figured there's no reason not to share it in case someone wants to use it for a homebrew campaign.

The appearance section is just basic vector stuff to get a basic visual identity and colors, there are two sections below for interior and exterior prompts that you can plug into an AI gen - or if you despise AI and want the clankers to burn in glorious fire you can send that prompt to an artist instead which should give em an idea of how you want your ship made - just don't forget to provide your human artist with references!

IMPORTANT NOTE

The homebrew campaign has its own lore, so in the appearance section there won't be anything for core rulebook manufacturers or races. That being said, if enough people like it, I'll make a drop down or toggle category or something so you can select between my homebrew lore, and the actual established Starfinder lore. As an aside, I'm working on an NPC builder too but that's gonna take a while.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

None! Technically. Just extract the folder and run the .bat - it'll run in your browser.

New campaign idea, but can't decide between SF1E or SF2E

Hey guys, so I have this fun idea for a new campaign I'd eventually like to run. To keep it simple, I'd like to run an exploration/survival campaign and would like to have a broad variety of different types of encounters with a mixture of combat encounters, but also skill based survival encounters where the very environment could risk a PC's life if the dice fail to roll in their favor.

I have been DM'ing SF1E for years, and have not had a chance to try SF2E, and was wondering what your guys' thoughts are on which system might suite this campaign idea better? Maybe give some pros and cons to each if you're up for it? Also I wasn't sure which Starfinder subreddit to post this in, so I will probably just post in both, since the question pertains to both?

If there's any more details needed, feel free to ask in the comments, thanks!

[Starfinder 2e] Looking for testers for The Irorian Registry –

Hey Starfinder community! I am new to the Starfinder community but after a stint at GenCon I learned some things about what player tools might be helpful. I’ve been hard at work building The Irorian Registry, a web companion (someday a mobile app) designed specifically for Starfinder 2e players. Instead of trying to recreate yet another character builder, I focused on what happens after your character is made: tracking play history, managing campaign logs, and scanning chronicle sheets.

🌌 So what is The Irorian Registry? It’s meant to be a digital binder and suite of tools for your Starfinder 2e campaigns. Right now two of the main features are:
🚀Character Import & Management: Fast PDF sheet upload or manual setup. The scanner focusing on your key stats, Organized Play numbers, levels, XP, and conditions.

🚀AI Chronicle Sheet Scanner: Upload your Chronicle PDFs/scans to auto extract XP, credits, reputation, and automatically log your Chronicle, Boons, and items into a dedicated ledger.

I am hoping this can lower the amount of paperwork players need to carry around.

I want to be transparent: this tool is not 100% finished yet. It is actively under development, so you might encounter a bug here or there, or notice features being tweaked as feedback comes in. That’s exactly why I’m opening it up to you all today! I need you all to tell me what I can do to make this a REAL, USABLE tool!

Continued in comments.
