Do you think right-wing / nationalist virtue-signalling is a thing?

The guy at the petrol station yesterday shouting at Rachel Reeves got me thinking - is right-wing virtue-signalling a thing? Of all the causes he could have supported to help British people when close to the Chancellor, he chose to bang on about getting arrested for having a flag on his car - which (do correct me if I'm wrong) ZERO people have actually been arrested for. Is he just trying to look cool for the cameras??

And I have seen criticisms of the people putting up flags for not spending their time picking up litter, helping their community, etc, so it does feel like this is becoming a trend...? What do y'all think?

One of the most vital people in the 90's UK and Irish music scene. Also pictured Morrissey.

British comedians Bridget Christie and Stewart Lee

Hello! Something I found by the off-chance after I saw the name "BRIDGET CHRISTIE" as one of the supporter names on Birthing (top right, in caps on the last insert), and thought if it could be the same person as the British comedian. Turns out, it is! She even posted about them on insta with Swans_official liking her post.

She also went to the final Berlin show - https://www.instagram.com/p/DRreOa8jRIM/

She was also married to fellow comedian Stewart Lee. In his 2019 book March of the Lemmings he mentions this about a visit to Seattle in 1994 where he met a scenester (page 65) - "He seemed normal enough by the standards of the day - beanie hat, goatee beard, and pierced nipples poking through a t-shirt bearing the legend 'Public Castration is a Good Idea'".

On another note, I saw Lee live last year and wore that t-shirt to the show. It was an ice-breaker during the meet-and-great afterwards! :D

Hello! I am a real person who lives in a house and I like other comedians like Russel Howardbrandkane and Jim Davidson. I just wanted to acknowledge how much better than me you all are.

When I'm feeling intellectual I put some Ross Noble on.

Shit. How's he supposed to finish his tour? Anyone know how to get refunds?

It's really bad because I was bringing new people as well.
