I’m an avid player of StS 1 & 2. My group of friends, who also play, rag on me because I “save scum” my games if I’m going to lose (die) to a fight. I will save the fight before dying, relaunch the run, and try again. Is this normal behavior, or am I ruining the experience?
I want the opinion of the kind strangers of Reddit on this matter, and I will change my ways if necessary.
Running through ascension tiers with every other class but necro no matter what I do is always trash. The only run ive managed to win with it I had an upgraded end of days and got the enchantment to play it instantly for free at the start of every combat.
Shy of a god run like that it just feels like ass compared to the others

Having 100 possible energy next turn seems like a bit much. I had forbidden grimoire and hidden gem, and well....you get the picture
Prolong with barricade is insane (would’ve kept going but my mercury hour glass ended it)
Glitterstream (gaining block now and next turn) got me to Test Subject Phase 3.
Then, Sovereign Blade ftw! I forged it multiple times, added replay with Sword Sage and block with Parry.

I have about 15-25 hours played on co-op ascension 10 now, and absolutely cannot beat it. i've made it to the final bosses a few times, but i either die to test subject because of his arguably unfair mechanics in multiplayer or i die being too greedy to preserve my potions for test subject. i have not personally made it to act 3 yet without test subject being in the pool which is rather annoying but i rarely even get runs that deep anyway. i am open to any coaching or overall team comps and strategies to help me win. i primarily play 2 player, sometimes 3 player, and i like the silent the most.
Edit: I have now finally beaten the game on 3 player A10 because i finally got a run with no test subject and demolished the aeonglass and queen with triple silent
