3.99 for 6 inch, 9.89 for ft long, how does this make any sense?
Was at subway today and ordered the cold cut combo. Asked the worker about the pricing and why a foot long is more expensive than 2x 6 inches, she said something nonsensical about "taxes".
Said i wanted 2x 6 inches instead of the "foot long" as it would come out to 7.98 vs 9.89 for the exact same sandwich. She tried to charge me for the foot long anyway until i pressed the matter and she finally relented.
What is this pricing and how does it make any sense?
Do subway workers get the tips?
Today I was asked for a tip the first time at a subway ever(haven’t been in almost a decade).
Do the actual workers behind the counter get this(how is it distributed if so), or is this more corporate grift?
Is it a choice for every franchise to use the app or not?
My subway just show every item out of stock so you can't use the app... (so you lose on all the reward) Can they really just choose to do that?
They won't honor old gift card
I used to munch on subways around 2010 or so. I had their loyalty card I used to work around a subways so it was my go to. I stopped after I went to another job.
I still have my card. Apparently they don't use this card anymore and the numbers are different, the other subways restaurant told me. They said the card doesn't work
I emailed subways and they are playing dumb too. Talking about we are a franchise go back to the place you bought it. We don't know about that card it's invalid.
Unfortunately that place is closed and I don't think they would even remember me buying it even if I were to go back. I emailed them and they're basically saying we can't help you and I'm just here to see if someone else can provide some sort of relief because it's not my fault that they change to a new system but didn't bring over the old gift cards or whatever. At the back of it it says it doesn't expire.
I had a similar situation with GameStop I had a gift card on it it was $10 I emailed them. They said that the car to have is not valid anymore but they know that I still had $10 on it so they gave me a new one.
Just a rant about how bad working at Subway is.
This is just a mild rant about my Subway experience as a teen working it. I've been working at my town's Subway since mid-February and its just been a terrible experience overall.
First off, my store has 14 workers 3 being guys including me and 1 guy is our manager. My manager has one underage girl that he will leave the store with while being clocked in to go get food or "fun drinks", and he's even bought large packs of Alanis for the female workers. Wild work am I right.
That's just one part, this one is partially my fault but not completely. My family raises and sells German Shepherds and Maine Coons so being at home is like having another part time job. When I started I was set up on the Subway University app. I then got to clean dishes for the rest of my 6 hours there and it was like this my first few "training" shifts. I was never really taught how to do anything and I still don't. I had to pick it up just by being around the other workers I was never actually "trained". Therefore because of this I was having a hard time getting my online training done. I got it done eventually but two girls were hired after me and my manager gave them their entire shifts to get their training done. Again pretty wild. (Did I mention our manager has rape charges against him from 2 years ago)
Continuing on, I am in a fairly small town around 15,000 or so people counting the people that live in the country around it. We close at 10:30 with only one closer. This sucks the most but it is what it is. Though are managers favorite thing to do is randomly change our schedules. I get emails everytime our manager changes it. No call or text just boom you weren't on schedule for this day all week well that sucks.
Recently he tried to schedule to close 4 hours before the shift was supposed to start and got pissy when I told him I can't come in. I don't know if thats just a normal thing. Being that this is my first restaurant job but it feels like it isn't.
I'd really appreciate feedback and tbh whether or not I should find a new job. Thank you for reading my rant even though it turned out to be more than a mild rant.
Batch Spam Musubi tips?
I’m tasked with making 3 dozen spam musubi for my kid’s team snacks.
Question about the rice… we have a smallish rice cooker, and one batch of rice isn’t enough. Last time, we needed to do it in three batches, which is pain in the early morning (need to get up early).
For spam musubi, will it lose much quality if I make all the rice the night before and just reheat it in the morning?
We have a good recipe we like and a double wide musubi mold. Other tips or techniques are welcome! thanks.
Unpaid Training
Hiya, my sister just started working at subway and has worked 21.5 hours for the first 1/3 rota.
Apparently she wont get paid for the July and August months because she's on "training"
They changed their minds about paying her after the manager told the franchisee about her going to Wales for university later this year.
Is this legal? If not, who do I contact or what do I do.
Also, 3 people, the manager, a tesco employee, and the franchisee live together as one of the employees is married with the manager. They give them selves alot of hours and told my other sister off who's worked there for years that she's being unreasonable as "everyone deserves hours" yet gives a mass majority of it to each other.
Subway ceiling lights
The Subway I was at last night had these really cool lights in the ceiling, never seen anything like it before.
Holy guacamole. 4th of July madness.
Today was my tenth consecutive day of working, the past week has been the busiest it’s been in a while. I mostly work alone albeit days where I get help for ~2 hours. I did a couple of shifts where I made 60+ subs all on my own. Today takes the cake. 101 subs. All by myself. Luckily I will be heading out and onto a big girl career sooner than later. Otherwise, I would NOT have put up with doing all of that alone and underpaid. Just wanted to ramble/rant/see who else has been through similar! How many subs have you made, alone, in a single shift!?!
Also, on days where I’ve topped 40 subs I’ve made so many more tips 😅 today I made about $14 in cash tips and the others days I made $3-$4 in cash tips. Just thought that was funny. I’ve made $40 in cash tips in the middle of winter lmaooooo. Not complaining about that, just thought it was interesting.
I’ve quit! AMA
Ask me absolutely anything on your mind to do with subway and I’ll do my best to answer you as a former employee with nothing holding me back!
I was overcharged for my Subway order by $2.20, should I complain to the store about it or let it go?
I had ordered in store, and the girl making my sandwich wasnt very nice to me or my friend. I still tipped her $2 because maybe she was having a bad day. My order came out to $28, which is way more than I expected it to be. I had ordered a fresh fit chicken avocado sub and made it a meal to get the Moana cup with it.
When I got home i checked my receipt, and it showed that it was written as a 12in. Grilled chicken sub with added avocado. That wasnt what I ordered. I had ordered the chicken avocado fresh fit sub. I programed it into the subway app and it shows it should have been $26, not $28. Would you put a complaint in about this? I would normally let this go but its the combination of being overcharged and the fact that the girl was rude who made my sandwich, so the whole experience made me feel like I was ripped off.
I did call the store and their only response was "ok ill let the manager know" and i told them id call back later to speak to the manager. But im wondering if I should just let it go and just not go there anymore. How would you handle this?
This franchise is going to crap
I have the worst experience in almost every subway i go into. (This is my sorry excuse for a sandwich that garlic herbs and cheese bread if couldnt tell) Most times when i go in im going for lunch and youd think with an empty store and the employees on the phone theyd hop to the order. Well common sense aint so common cause theyll wait to you get to the workstation or tell you to use the kias with no online orders being made. 2. How and the hell do you guys never have garlic herbs and cheese bread? this is supposed to be Subway make it your way right? Why would you make people wait 20 minutes to make the bread plus the time it takes to make the sandwich? I asked this because when I look at the toaster rack all I see is two rows of white bread in what reality does that make sense? 3. Finally you would think with them taking their sweet ass time you’d get a good decent sandwich, but apparently nobody at Subway knows how to spread ingredients across the bread. Mind you these guys are getting paid 20 an hour to make a sandwich that we’re explaining to make why is this so hard for your employees Subway?
Who was on drugs doing payroll?!
First new owners can’t figure out how to issue a check, now they can’t figure out how to issue said check correctly 💀
Did they take away that thing where after you buy 2 or 3 footlongs and you get a free 6 inch?
It's not a coupon it looked like some kind of progress reward or challenge or something. I can't find it anymore. Unless it just doesn't show up online or on the android app version. I can't update the mobile app on my iPhone that's why I'm using a different phone.
No Bread!!!
I went to subway for a sandwich and as soon as I walked in they told me they were out of bread. Wtf?. I walked out and went to a grocery store instead.
