I'm in NC zone 8a. Do I still have time to plant some sunflower seeds? I did plant sunflowers for first time this year and now will never be without them. Here's a picture of them in their prime but now they are all dying off.

Variegated sunflower

Today I'm sharing this beautiful variegated sunflower. Its stunning multicolored foliage pairs perfectly with the vibrant yellow of its bloom, creating a truly eye-catching combination.

My first time growing sunflowers

How'd I do? The tallest ones that haven't bloomed yet are approximately 7 ft tall as measured by a measuring tape. (Scroll to the end to see full picture of bed)

My first time growing sunflowers and she finally started blooming!

I’m so happy I got to watch her grow and I was able to get her to this point!

Help for my wife's sunflower??

Any advice on keeping my wife's sunflower going, if there's anything I can do? She's very sad it's starting to go. Thank you all!

My 10.5 foot sunflower snapped during a heavy South Florida rain storm.

It was already supported by two 8’ metal stakes. So I attached a third 8’ metal stake to the existing two about halfway up so that I could support the very top of the plant. Desperate times calls for desperate measures so I used electrical tape directly on the stalk to secure it to the stakes. So far so good, wish me luck. 😜🌻
