The Shell’s Secret

For years, I’ve always considered The Shell’s Secret to be the toughest secret level in the game. But tonight when I did it, I cleared it on my first try. 😎

This Game Got Me To Break My Wavebird Controller...

Years ago I was playing this game and one of the bowser jr stealing Fludd levels got me SWEATING and HEATED, I probably tried the level like 50 times in a row and after I died one of the times I flung myself back on the couch and threw up my hands in frustration...

Well lost my grip on the controller and it went flying from the living room, through the dining room, all the way into the kitchen where it LOUDLY bounced around until finally coming to a stop...

Well it didn't work anymore after that trip through the house hahaha, my mom gave me a serious dressing down for "throwing my controller".... Still not 100% convinced myself that I didn't sorta subconsciously throw it on purpose LOL.

Anyways, clever tactic to get people to buy more equipment Nintendo, cleeeever tactic...

Also I can HEAR this gif...

Help with Gelato Beach Skill

(Solved by an excellent redittor in the comments) Hey, everyone! I'm finally trying my hand at GBS, but I keep either doing what the video shows or I'll clip into the roof and immediately clip out into the blades. Could anyone explain why I keep grabbing the ceiling? I'm trying to do the "flick back" with the stick, but the Joy-Con are finicky

In the NSO version, you can collect a maximum of 69 Shine Sprites (currently) before Peach is kidnapped

Using sequence breaks and wall clips, I managed to collect 69 Shines before Pinna Park.

First I did Pianta Village, using Yoshi skip in Episode 5 to get all 11 Shines in the level, and 27 Blue Coins, missing only the coins that require Yoshi.

Then I did the clip into Sirena Beach during the Shadow Mario chase, and using the Banana skip in Episode 3 allowed me to 100% the level with all 11 Shines and 30 Blue Coins.

Then I did Bianco Hills as normal, collecting all 11 Shines and 28 Blue Coins, missing only the two coins that require Yoshi.

Then I did some cleanup in Delfino Plaza, using various fruit clips and tricks to get all but 3 Blue Coins, and two Shines that require Rocket Nozzle (east Bell Tower and Shine Gate)

From then, I could only pick either Ricco Harbor or Gelato Beach, since getting even a single Shine from both levels will trigger the kidnapping.

I picked Ricco Harbor since it would allow me to cash in the Blue Coins I'd been collecting. In Ricco I got 10 Shines and 29 Blue Coins. Unfortunately, it seems like Rocket Storage was patched in NSO, so I'm unable to get the Episode 8 Shine without Yoshi.

After cashing in all my Blue Coins, I had enough to claim an extra 13 Shine Sprites, which was more than enough to clear up the darkness around Delfino Plaza, and also Peach hasn't been kidnapped yet.

If I even save the lighthouse, the next time Delfino Plaza reloads, Peach will be kidnapped. It's funny to run around a completely brightened Delfino Plaza and still having NPCs complain about the weather.

I'd love to hear ideas to get more Shines or Blue Coins without triggering Pinna, 70 would be possible if Rocket Storage weren't patched in the NSO version. The 3 Blue Coins I'm missing in Delfino Plaza are the Turbo Nozzle doors near the lighthouse, and the yellow goop spots that only Yoshi can spray.

Which version should I play, AllStars or NSO?

Had it on the OG GC. Never beat it. So which version is better to play? And does either version support the anolog trigger for the NSO GC controller?

THIS IS FOR THE WATERMELON LEVEL

PSA for all 2 new players of Mario Sunshine: you can kill these jerkwads with the sand dunes.

Am I Cracked or Just Lucky?

I was just playing through Sunshine 100% for the second time and beat the Watermelon Festival on my first try! The trick was to just launch myself into the watermelon and watch my momentum transfer into the melon and aim for the boardwalk. Doing that avoids all of the chaos of the cattaquacks and trees. From there, it was just a simple walk to the finish.

Is this mission really that bad if we can adapt like this?

How many Heart attacks can I give myself collecting red coins?

There were some odd interactions with ground pounding above the turning platforms, not what I was expecting to happen, and my gameplay was sloppy, but I still thought it’d be funny to post and see who else clenches their chest when I nearly fall off multiple times. I’ve played this game for the better part of 20 years, and it will always be my favorite game of all time.
