Hi! I'm the developer of Fileloom, a free, ad-free Android file viewer for people who open mixed file types on Android: PDFs, EPUBs, HWP/HWPX, Office docs, archives, Markdown/code, images/media, local files and Google Drive.
You can test it here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.fileloom.app
The newest update added or improved HWP/PDF/Markdown/Office rendering and search, DWG/DXF/STEP/STP support, TIFF/TIF, VCF, M3U/M3U8, EPUB to TXT export, ZIP internal search, in-viewer delete, password-protected PDFs, recent files/tabs/reset settings, GIF sizing, Excel zoom/search, TTS and UI fixes.
I'm looking for feedback on:
Does the first-run/file-picker flow make sense?
Which file type still makes you switch to another viewer?
Any crashes or bad rendering with unusual files?
Is the Play Store listing/onboarding clear enough about what Fileloom does?
Blunt bug reports are welcome, especially with files that usually break lightweight viewers.
Hey everyone,
I recently picked up the new MacBook Air M5 to finally dive into the Apple ecosystem. It is an absolute beast, and I love it. Naturally, the next step to fully experiencing the "ecosystem magic" seems to be getting an iPad, but I am seriously struggling here.
Every time I try to justify buying one, I realize my MacBook Air already does it better, faster, and on a bigger screen.
For those of you who own both a Mac and an iPad, what do you actually use the iPad for? Is it just an expensive Netflix machine, or am I missing some secret workflow?
Please give me some actual, real-world use cases where the iPad beats a Mac. What do you guys use your iPads for daily?
Samsung S10 Fe or Base iPad 11 + pencil? Both are priced the same right now (1400 SAR) where i live but another 539 SAR for the first gen apple pencil for pressure support, and which is a huge budget issue.
Maybe the samsung will go on sale during eid in one week and drop even lower around 1300 or 1200 SAR, i don't know about the iPad.
All people in family use android and windows device so im worrying about compatibility issues and honestly my dad just hates apple. What else should i be worried if i have android and apple. I would be the only one with an iOS device and that might limit me
What are the compatibility issues.? I heard no apks or file management is possible in the ipad, and i just want to know my limitations. Compared to android ecosystem
I'm student right now, main focus will be drawing (painting) and note taking, I don't do heavy gaming or video editing (maybe seldom the latter).
I hate anime and manga and clipstudio paint is mainly focused on that and it does not have a smooth feel to it (my main drawing app for more than 1 year now), and so I've been yearning for procreate ever since i started art, and trying in the showroom, the brushes in procreate feel and blend so nicely and it just has more simplicity for painting /illustration purposes, compared to cumbersome feel of clip studio.
Hi everyone I hope you all are doing fine.. Just had a great quick question, I'm in interesting in purchasing a tablet for myself as a uni student.. I can afford both of these tablets in my budget, here are my primary uses
I've looked into these two and both seem to have their pros and cons, for redmi it's cheaper (albeit only slightly) and also comes in with cover and a charger plus offers more ram and storage (8/256)
For Samsung it's performance has me intrigued, the chipset is quite a bit better than the g100 used in redmi.. Though I would've preferred 8 gb of ram ideally
For anyone who has used either or both of these tablets, can you kindly share your experience with me? I would genuinely appreciate it.. Thanks for reading
I genuinely can’t decide between the iPad A16 (256GB) and the Xiaomi Pad 8.
This will be my MAIN device for around 4–5 years. My current phone is just a Samsung A12 and I’ll probably keep a cheap phone only for hotspot/calls, so the tablet will handle most of my daily use.
My usage:
- studying / PDFs / notes
- anime / YouTube / media
- MLBB on high settings
- Terraria / Stardew Valley
- casual multitasking
What keeps pulling me toward the Xiaomi:
- 144Hz looks AMAZING to me
- stronger hardware/value for the money
- feels more modern
- cheaper than the iPad in my area
What keeps pulling me toward the iPad:
- iPadOS looks cleaner and more reliable
- better app optimization
- feels safer long-term
- I want something dependable for years
I’m NOT a professional creator/editor, just a student who wants a good long-term main device.
For people who actually owned either of these:
Which one would you honestly choose in 2026 and why?
Don’t get me wrong, the OLED display is beautiful. Probably the best thing about this tablet. But after using it for some time, I realized good specs on paper don’t always mean a good real-life experience.
The software experience is what disappoints me the most. Small things keep getting on my nerves every day. For example, the screen rotation behaves weirdly sometimes. If I unlock the tablet while holding it upside down, it occasionally refuses to rotate properly afterward. Sounds small, but when it happens again and again, it becomes really annoying.
Another thing is the quick settings design. Long pressing Wi-Fi should let me quickly manage networks, but instead it only gives a basic on/off option. I end up going into Settings way more than I should.
I also expected much more from the speakers. Everyone talks about the “8 speakers,” but honestly, I don’t feel a huge improvement compared to my old Xiaomi Pad 6. In some ways I actually miss the Xiaomi more because Dolby Atmos made movies and music feel more immersive to me.
For almost AED 2,000, I expected a device that would make me excited every time I use it. Instead, most of the time I just feel like I bought a bigger tablet with a nicer screen.
At this point I honestly wish I had gone for a Samsung Tab S series or even another Xiaomi tablet.
Anybody else feeling the same after long-term use?
I want the s10 fe for my studies, I want to last me 5-6 years do u think the Samsung s10 fe will last me that long with no lag? Or should I go for iPad a16 with third party stylus
I considered the Samsung cause I heard it’s more flexible, has a free pen and more ram but I also heard iPad has better longevity
Which one should I go for? This will be my first tab/ipad
Which tablet have this ? By your experience I mean soundback in discord and telegram
which one
- Samsung Tab S10 Lite 5G (128GB, S Pen included) – 34k
use : watching lectures, notes , some movies and editing
Also important i don’t use a separate phone so SIM support/WhatsApp/calling is necessary for me. Realme has bigger battery/display but Samsung feels more advanced in this field
Walmart has some new open box Onn 8 (2024) tablets available for as little as $32 (not $33). This a low spec 8" tablet with a 800x1280 screen resolutiion. It has the Helio 80 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage. Surprisingly, this tablet updates to Android 15.

Note: I have purchased a few of VIP Outlet's open box tablets, including an Onn 8. The boxes were actually unopened, however, they were quite damaged.
If you've ever had to put your iPad down mid-session because your hand was cramping, you're not alone — and we built something specifically for this.
We started by making an ergonomic strap for Kindle and Kobo readers that lets you hold your device with one finger for hours. It took off and now 300,000+ people use them. So we spent two years applying the same idea to iPad.
The Strapsicle iPad Case has our patented XO-strap built right into the case, so you can hold your iPad comfortably through long sessions without gripping, cramping, or having to prop it up. It also has an origami multi-angle cover, a built-in Apple Pencil holder, and interchangeable straps you can swap in seconds.
We just launched on Kickstarter and already hit our first funding goal! Now we're pushing to $20,000 to unlock the Aqua collector color. Would love the support from this community if it sounds useful to you:
Happy to answer any questions!
It was launched in China a couple of days ago, but does anyone know when it will be available for purchase elsewhere?
I was looking for a budget tablet for note taking being the primary reason, and gaming being my 2nd priority and finally watching movies as my last priority.
My budget is 20-30k INR happier if I get a cheaper model as well.
I am looking to buy during the great Indian sale or even black friday sale.
What are a few things I should keep in mind before buying a tablet.
I'm a undergrad student and I only need a tab for notes and studies . Also want to commit for long term
im a student who wants a tablet for casual note-taking/drawing, watching movies and general use. my budget is ₹30-40k. im stuck bw Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite and Ipad 11th gen.
is one better than the other? or is there another model altogether that would better suit my needs?
also, I was thinking of purchasing a third-party ipad pencil since apple pencils can be rather expensive. would that be a good decision?
really hope i get helpful responses, thank you T-T
Old boomer looking for my first tablet. I'll be traveling and leaving my laptop at home.
I need a tablet with a good case and a good size screen. I would mostly be watching streaming services but might also use it for word processing and such.
I'm comfortable with my Android phone. Ideally I would love to hook up a wireless mouse and keyboard to it on occasion.
I'm on a budget so need the best bang for my buck.
Thanks for any input.
So I am the type who barely uses apple well it's more I just don't like and its too expensive too.
So recently I have started to have the need for a tablet not for gaming or shit but for school and notes and stuff.
I need a decent tablet but I don't know if I should get a ipad or Android I do have a windows laptop but it's a gaming one which I can't carry every where.
Suggest something decent which can be used to watch stuff take notes etc. My budget isn't that high like 15-20k so take that into mind team. Well budget is also the reason I don't wanna get a ipad I just didn't know with my budget could I even afford one.
I'm stuck on which one to buy.
The S11 Ultra is going to be £815 and the pro would be £1039. ( I have employee discount).
It's going to be a gift to my girlfriend since she has a chromebook (horrible) and doesn't have anything else to study with.
I'm leaning more towards the Ultra since it's bigger and better for video watching, and also is cheaper and a pen included. However, I do want to get a keyboard case for her too but there's not that many good ones available for the ultra whereas the pro has so many third party cases that was very good.
I'm also considering that she's already using an iPhone right now. She is in university so the ultra seems better for notetaking and multitasking, whereas the ipad will last longer and will be more powerful in the future.
I want to use whichever I get for her for as many years as she can. I do think iPad will at least last 8-9 years with good care.
Hey everyone,
Looking to buy a tablet in India with a budget of around ₹35–40k and wanted some honest opinions from people here.
Primary use case:
Not a heavy gamer, but I do want something that can handle casual gaming smoothly without lag or heating issues.
What I’m looking for:
Main confusion is around long-term performance, gaming capability, software support, and overall value for money.
Would really appreciate recommendations or personal experiences from people.
Thank You.
