We have asked the EHRC to reflect on the real problem

The EHRC meets with organisations hostile to trans people and our rights. But would it meet with people opposed to homosexuality, race-realists, or organisations wanting to remove women’s bodily autonomy?

If not, why are trans people the exception? These are the questions we have asked the EHRC!

I asked Lloyds if reporting that they had banned "trans women from using female lavatories" was accurate; today they responded...

Two months ago, I, as a (soon to be former) Lloyds customer asked Lloyds bank if an article that suggested that they had banned "trans women from using female lavatories" was accurate.

(The article is archived here - https://archive.is/EIouM)

Today (11 August 26) they responded to me suggesting the article was accurate.

I am unsure why this was allocated to the Complaints Track as I had submitted a general enquiry (one can draw their own conclusions).

We've looked into your complaint

Dear Mrs [Redacted]

I'm sorry you've needed to raise a complaint with us about the news article on the new toilet policy that Lloyds banking group have. Thanks for letting us know, so we could look at this for you and explain what's happened.

What happened

You contacted us after reading a newspaper article published on 29 May 2026. The article reported that Lloyds Banking Group had changed an internal policy relating to the use of women’s toilets by trans women.

You explained that you and your wife had previously moved part of your banking to us because of your views on inclusion and support for trans people. You told us that, if the article was accurate, you would consider moving your banking elsewhere as your beliefs do not allow you to support policies that you consider to be anti-LGBT or segregationist. You asked us to confirm whether the information reported in the article was accurate.

The outcome

After reviewing your concerns, we didn’t find that we’d made an error in the way we handled this matter. For this reason, we haven’t made any payments in relation to your complaint.

Why it happened

We reviewed your complaint and sought guidance on the concerns you raised. During this review, it was confirmed that the position being followed is based on the Supreme Court’s ruling and that this is a business decision that must be applied. The matter was also discussed with a specialist team, who confirmed that this decision could not be changed.

We recognise that this is a complex and sensitive issue. We understand the concerns you’ve raised and appreciate the strength of your views. Lloyds Banking Group’s position is that we aim to approach matters of this nature with care and empathy while respecting the Supreme Court’s judgement.

How I reviewed your complaint

I've used the information we have on our systems in my investigation. I also considered the points you raised. As we haven't made any errors, I can't agree with your complaint, but I hope I've explained why we have not upheld your complaint and you understand what's happened.

You can go to the Financial Ombudsman Service

If you don’t agree with this decision, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, free of charge – but you must do so within six months of the date of this letter. Full details of how to do this are in the “Things you need to know” section at the end of this letter.

If you have any questions please get in touch You can call us on the number at the top of this letter. We're open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday, and someone else can help if I’m not available.

Yours sincerely

Take Back the Flag: The Suffragettes Belong to All Women

The suffragette colours belong to feminism, not exclusion.
💜🤍💚

I’ve written about how feminist iconography is being appropriated to legitimise trans-exclusionary politics, why that matters, and why we need to reclaim the symbols of intersectional feminism.
