6ft+ people!!! what clothing items are still basically impossible to find in the right fit? Be brutally honest

Hey tall community 👋

I'm doing some research on the persistent pain points for people 6ft and above when it comes to clothing. Not looking for brand recommendations (yet). I specifically want to know what categories or types of clothing you still find genuinely hard to get right, even in 2026.

Some examples to get the ball rolling. Is it:

  • Dress shirts / formal shirts (sleeve length vs. shoulder width mismatch)?
  • Trousers / pants with long enough inseam that still have a decent cut?
  • Suits and blazers off the rack?
  • Casual tees and hoodies where the torso length is always too short?
  • Swimwear / shorts that don't look like hot pants?
  • Outerwear / coats that hit at the right length?
  • Underwear and base layers?
  • Shoes above size 13/14?

Drop your height and the specific clothing item(s) that still frustrate you, and feel free to mention whether you're male/female/other, since the struggle isn't the same across the board.

Genuinely curious where the biggest gaps still are. Thanks in advance 🙏

6ft2 female looking for general advice

Hi,

So I'm 6ft2 and I've never felt particularly comfortable in my clothes. I've got quite large tits and hips but I'm still skinny in my mid section so either clothes won't fit over my curves or sag around my stomach(I know first world problems). Anyways I'm going to a cabaret in London in August with some friends and I really want to try and look nice. Any suggestions on where to start outside of my usual baggy hoodies and jeans? Also I know this is definitely a stretch but if anyone has any makeup advice that would be greatly appreciated, if it helps I look like Phoebe Waller Bridge with purple hair 😅

6'6" in India: The struggle to find joggers that actually reach my ankles. Anyone else?

Hey everyone, 6'6" guy here. I've spent years struggling with clothing sizes in India. Most joggers end way above my ankles, jeans are either high-waters or a tent, and "oversized" tees just get wider instead of longer.

I'm trying to gather some informal data on how common these specific fit issues are globally vs. regionally. If you're 6'2"+, I'd love it if you could share:

  • Your exact height
  • The single hardest clothing item for you to find
  • Any go-to brands that actually get the proportions right
  • The #1 thing you wish clothing brands would fix regarding tall fits

Note: Absolutely not selling anything or promoting a brand. Just trying to see how widespread this frustration is!

I am 6’8 and need a lightweight fishing hoodie. Poncho sells Large Tall sizes in fishing button ups, but not their lightweight fishing hoodies. Any suggestions?

Help on mens linen trousers!!

Hi All, my boyfriends birthday is coming up and I'm thinking about getting him a pair of trousers. He's 6'5 (and he was 6,3 two months ago god forbid) and said recently he'd like to get a pair of nice breathable linen trousers, as he hates the summer heat. He's lean, his waist is practically smaller than mine and is proportioned so his legs make up most of his height, He says he's a 36 leg UK size, His everyday trousers though are 34 but they are almost too small**.**

Slim fit trousers are really not his style, and he would be more interested in structured relaxed fits, possibly even wide legs but not slimfit

He's never really owned any good clothes, cause he would grow out of them too fast and never invest in any quality, so I'm hoping to find him something nice but not totally break the bank!! from what Ive gathered, GAP and jamaco are good?

does anyone have any brand recommendations for tall trousers? even smaller business based in Europe/ the Uk?

Hiking trousers for tall men

6’5” here. Been hiking for years and I’ve never once found a pair of technical trousers that actually fit properly. Not really. The inseam is always short, the proportions are off, and the seat pulls every time you take a big step uphill.

I’ve tried the obvious brands. The “long” versions. Still not right.

Recently had a suit altered. Mad that I’ve had trousers made to measure for sitting at a desk, but never for actually being out in the hills. Seems a bit backwards.

So I’ve started trying to make one. No product yet, still very early days. Just curious whether other tall hikers feel the same?

Help finding high-rise trousers/pants

Hi all!

I have a friend who has recently started wearing some higher-rise trousers from places like Buck mason/Casatlantic/Spier and Mackay and I really like the look.

However, none of these places seem to make these style of trousers in my size as a taller guy. (6'8", 280lbs. Around a 48 inch "natural waist" and 36" inseam).

Are there any places that make trousers in this style that would actually fit me? I am not trying to wear some goofy-ass pants that I would have worn as a kid like church khakis hiked up to my belly button, but I see a lot of pics of cool looking dudes wearing higher waisted stuff, but I can't even find anything to try out.

I have never ordered custom, but I would even consider it if I could keep the price in the affordable-ish range, but I am not gonna drop like 400 on some custom pants I have never tried before.

Are there any brands that make something that would mostly fit me off the rack so I can try them on and see how they fit? Or at my size plus this style is the only option true custom?

Some examples of what I am looking at: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/81/7b/40/817b40fe85c8beb0b18269958ea5e233.jpg

tl;dr: In general I am trying to move away from "jeans plus tshirt with either a jacket or overshirt depending on temp" and start looking more intentional. And I am willing to pay for it, but I don't even know where to look, even for MTM stuff. Where can I get pants? I found luxire, but they don't have all the styles I want.

Bonus points if anyone can point me to some cool fatigues, or something in a wider shoe that still looks cool in a mens 14/15 US

6’7 M, looking for jeans and streetwear (pants mainly)

For jeans, mainly just want something fashionable enough that isn’t skin tight, and ideally would like to stay under $100. I’m new to the streetwear scene so any guidance at all on where to look would be great, ideally would still like to be under 100 but willing to spend a little more here. For me I need a 36’, but can maybe rock at 34’ if i have to.

Where to find bootcut jeans or jeans/pants in general? (Male 6’5)

just ordered some Levi’s 512 bootcut jeans, and normally I’m a 32x36 but these came in a 34x36 and I can’t get them past my thighs. I know I’ve been working out but damn bro wtf. 6’5 220lb.

haven’t really had any luck at all with pants or jeans and I’m tired of brand accommodating for fat people and not tall people.

I tried suitsupply, but an employee told me that they had changed their way of making chinos, so that now they would no longer be a fitting size for me, do you guys know other brand that lie in Scandinavia?

can someone help me identify what specific The North Face windbreaker this is? I’m also wondering if it’s legit and if it’s actually a good piece.

Tailor or alterations

I’m 6’6” and have a very thin waist but muscular legs. Most pants I buy never look right on me. What’s the best way to get pants that actually fit properly? Getting custom made pants from a tailor seems expensive. I don’t wear like fine Italian slacks to work but want something that looks like I care about my appearance and is quality. Any thoughts?
