hi everyone, I’m getting a kitten at the end of this week from a friend. I want to get him his vaccines to prevent upper respiratory infections and such (aiming for at least a week after I get him) but I just started a job at a school so don’t have much to start and prob won’t have much to work with. That being said any recommendations on where I can take him that’s affordable without added exam fee etc? 😭
Recently got into an old bungalow, and while it doesn't feel that warm in here the thermostat spikes to 78-80 almost every afternoon and takes the rest of the evening to cool off. I've put up thermal film, blinds, uv curtains, we have fans in every room. We're not sweating, it feels like the 74 we keep the ac set at, but I'm not looking forward to my next teco bill 😕
What else can we do to "cool" the home down? We asked the landlord about attic insulation cause our first bill here was almost as much as the service deposit. Landlord said contact Teco for their energy audit and they can touch it up... but all they did was check my appliances, and give me a list of contractors to update the insulation that I can't hire and doubt the landlord will.

Hi everyone! I am a PhD student in clinical psychology at Adelphi University. I am conducting a study on the relationship between existential threat and mental health, coping strategies, and meaning making for young adults who have experienced stressful life events.
This study is being conducted online only and should take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. During the study, you will be asked to complete multiple self-report questionnaires that contain questions regarding coping methods, mental health, and questions that pertain to experiencing stressful life events in the past. What is Tampas infatuation with closing down streets for months before they actually ever end up fixing them. Over here in Hyde Park it’s been constant closed roads for over a year now. Most of the time these roads will be closed months before they even do anything. Then when they do finally get started they finish in less than a week. It’s especially annoying when there are so many one ways. Please just stop closing them if you don’t plan on doing anything for months. It makes no sense I’m losing it over here 😭
We have a mattress that needs dumping and a desk chair. We live in an apartment complex, so putting it in the curb is out of the question. Our IDs also don’t have our Tampa address on them, yet.
We also have 2 couches we’re going to try and have Salvation Army take them or offer them for super cheap on FB marketplace, but may need removal if that doesn’t work.
Any recommendations that are not super pricey?
Hello people of the Reddit world. My brother found these two cute dogs on his way to work. He found them on the corner of the N. Armenia and Cimino. If anyone has any information please contact the humane society of the Tampa bay. They are just down the road from where the two dogs were found. They are not microchipped. Please help us find good home for both. They seem to be very protective of each other. So please don’t just adopt one and leave the other. We would adopt them ourselves, but we just lost our first dog to old age. I don’t think we are ready to adopt any new dogs soon, otherwise, we would have kept them. Please please please reach out to the humane society of Tampa bay.
