Yall so what is there to do in Tampa? My birthday in August and I’m turning 26 🤣🤣wth do I do? Because I usually just say “yay happy birthday” while in bed or at work. If you know any recommendations please let me know

What is one thing the locals wish the transplants knew about living in Tampa? Either something about the environment that might not be common knowledge and should be respected or cultural norms you think transplants might not be aware of and should, etc.

these are some of the things I've found in other places I didn't know.

1. The heat and humidity from May through October are unrelenting, complete with near-daily, rapid afternoon thunderstorms. learn to schedule all outdoor activities in the mornings.
2. Many long-time Tampa natives hold beliefs that locals invented the Cuban sandwich (and it must include salami?). Any suggestions on where to find a good Cuban sandwich?
3. Gasparilla.

Does anyone need cat food?
My cat uses the poultry- free hills science diet dry kibble. I accidentally purchased the chicken version and it’s been opened so I can’t donate it to a shelter. I only used it today once before noticing.
Happy to give it to anyone who needs it.

Hello im nick, 18m. I just moved here about a week ago from small town arizona. I came here with my parents and I dont know anyone! Just seeing if theres anybody near my age who's down to hangout. I like fishing, cars, bikes, and lots of other things.

5 days ago, Kayak fishing and rod and reel fell to the bottom. Managed to fish it back up with another rod but it was fully under for 10 minutes. Shimano Nasci Reel, Bull Bay Banshee Rod. Once I got back to land, rinsed very thoroughly with hose. Is there anything else I should now after several days.

Im currently writting a small scrpit that takes place in Tampa Bay and despite living here my entire life I feel like I dont understand Tampa Bay enough to accurately depcit it.

More spefifically im looking for increased development during this period, increased migration from both other states and countries, and changes in ethnic diveristy

Both of my parents were forien born immigrants that did migrate to tampa florida in the 2000s, and they were often regarded the only colored people in their area untill very recently when florida in general experience this rapid influx of immigrants from south and central america.

If you have any experiences please let me know!

I'm looking for some real-world advice from people who've actually been in my shoes.

I'm not looking for the generic list of "felon-friendly employers" that comes up on Google. I've seen those lists, and many of those jobs either aren't actually second-chance employers or they top out around $17–20/hour.

Here's my situation:

- I've been sober for over 3 years.

- My last arrest was in 2022, and I've stayed out of trouble since.

- I'm currently employed, so I'm not looking for a quick paycheck—I want to build a career.

- I have solid work references and a strong work ethic.

- I'm eager to learn a trade or start in an industry where I can grow.

My criminal history is extensive, and I know that can close a lot of doors. No excuses, but I was in active addiction for almost 20yrs and my arrests were a result of the lifestyle I was living. That's why I'm hoping to hear from people who are in recovery, have felony convictions themselves, own businesses, or have firsthand knowledge of companies that genuinely give people a second chance.

If you know of a company that actually hires people with serious records and offers opportunities to earn a decent living and move up, I'd really appreciate hearing about it. Even better if you've personally worked there or know someone who has.

I'm in Florida, but I'd love to hear any suggestions. Please tell me why you're recommending the company instead of just dropping a name.
