Does anyone have real world experience with this lens?

I’m traveling to Paris with a Canon R6 MIII and I’d like to bring one lens. All of my lenses to date a Canon L’s. I found the Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD Lens (Canon RF). It’s a good price. I would love to hear any reviews from people who have experience with this lens. Thanks in advance!

My Tamron 17-70mm got strike by a bird

Is there by any chance this is going to cause some fungus or any negative effects on the lens. 🥲

Tamron A011 (SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD) broken?

Hi!

In december 2015 I bought this lens for my Nikon D5200 and I was happy with it until now.

Suddenly and for no apparent reason (the lens was not harmed in any way), when I mounted the lens, the autofocus didn't work. Other lenses' AF are still working, so I guess it's not the camera's fault.

I already did the following:

  • cleaned the camera's contacts
  • cleaned the lens contacts
  • switched from AF/MF and back multple times
  • switched distance selector from full to 15m-∞ and back multiple times
  • switched VC multiple times
  • mounted and removed the lens while camera was on/off/without battery

What I could observe:

  • MF is working, scale is correct
  • VC is working
  • aperture is working
  • in MF mode the camera shows focus hints (green dot, left/right arrows)
  • in AF mode the camera shows focus hints most of the time, but sometimes they vanish
  • when I attach the lens while the switch is on AF the camera's osd shows AF as well
  • when I switch the lens to MF, the camera's osd shows MF as well
  • but when I switch back to AF again, the camera's osd remains on MF and there's no way to get back to AF apart from reattaching the lens
  • I hear no motor sound except for VC (if enabled)

Unfortunately I have no other Nikon to test the lens with.

Do you have any ideas what I could try to make it work again?

Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 vs Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary je

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a standard zoom lens for my Sony FE camera and have narrowed it down to these two:
> Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2
> Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary

I’ve read that the Tamron has better weather sealing, while the Sigma is smaller and lighter. Those differences don’t really matter to me.

What I’m really interested in is image quality and autofocus. Is one lens actually better in terms of sharpness, contrast, rendering, AF performance, and overall optical quality?

Or are they so close that it doesn’t make much difference in real-world use?

I’d especially love to hear from people who have owned or used both lenses.

Thanks!

Loose sound inside lens?

When I pick up my lenses and turn them it sounds like something is loose, both of them do not have VC, here it is on my 28-75 f2.8 G2 and 35-150 f2-2.8
