So I already know this is probably gonna get massively downvoted but idc, just realized how detrimental being in this community has been for my mental health as a queer and leftist person. I’m sick of people saying “I like the music, not the ideology” but this is how it genuinely started for me as well. It’s just that you can never truly separate the art from the artist, even if you manage to listen to the music without financially supporting the artist you still have to face the fact that the music you’re listening to was made by a nazi. And well, being polish I just truly don’t understand how people can dismiss supporting nazism as just “being edgy”. As if we didn’t learn about this in school. I know there are slavic nazis, but I honestly can’t imagine the mental gymnastics it takes to support nazism while being the nationality/ethnicity nazis considered subhuman. And another thing I find very concerning is how nazi symbolism gets normalized. I see a lot of people saying things like “I hate nazis but the music is so good that I’m gonna keep listening”. Before discovering tanzelcore I existed in my leftist bubble and genuinely thought nazis were a thing of the past… I just think the rising popularity of this “genre” is a serious problem since it’s a perfect radicalization medium, especially for young people, where the creators use plausible (not so plausible imo) deniability to disguise their propaganda as “silly music” and the listeners gaslight themselves thinking “I just listen to the music”. You cannot convince me that consistently using nazi imagery in your music is just an “aesthetic” choice or a joke, unless you’re intellectually disabled and you cannot understand the meaning of your own actions, there’s absolutely no excuse for supporting nazism, if you don’t mean it, you don’t do it, that’s it. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading❤️ 161!!!
