Hi there! Has anyone tried buying Xiaomi or Redmi phones through Taobao? If so, are there any reputable sellers you can suggest? I've tried checking for the official Xiaomi or Redmi stores, but I wasn't able to find anything, so I'm hoping someone can help me. Thanks!

i still have the app on my phone but i was just thinking about when i plan on getting a new phone, i worry i’d lose the app n wouldn’t be able to get it back. i know there’s a rumor that they’re coming out w an english version of the app, but will taobao ever come back to the app store?

I ordered something from Taobao. The package was a bit large for air freight to Japan, so I had to use sea freight, which is fine. Seller ships using SF Express. On the tracking info, it says SF delivered to the Taobao warehouse. Taobao claims they didn't get anything. So I contact SF Express and they say the package is now with China Post, and I'm like, "huh?"

For context, this is the second time I ordered the same product. The first time it was refused by the Taobao warehouse for being too big. Seller sorted it out and gave me a refund. Taobao rep told me that sea freight will work. So I worked it out with the seller (great guy btw).

Now, the seller tells me they didn't get any refusal message or anything, and they checked with SF Express in China and was told it's still in transit.

So it's like, all three are telling me contradicting information. None of it really makes any sense. But looking up SF Express, their service seems to be absolute dog shit to say the least.

Is my parcel in some sort of limbo? Or SF Express just being extra special?

I am from the US, and I hate how Taobao is basically blocking people out of the app, I try to browse without an account but then keep getting stuck in the “ log in or sign up “ loop. I have tried to make an account but then get stuck beside I cannot verify my id since there’s no foreign option for Americans. I try to use proxy sites, but none of the proxy sites show reviews or seller ratings - at least none that I have personally found. Any advice/helpful tips? I have a couple items on a document that are things that I’d want, but as I have no way to check reviews on the proxy sites I’m a little apprehensive.

I have recently purchased from Taobao, shipping to Singapore. I have received the delivery receipt via an automated message from Cainiao but I received nothing. After checking the delivery photo, it was delivered to the wrong floor of my flat.

I knocked on the neighbour’s door several times but they refused to answer the door - they are at home because I see movement from their window, they deliberately went to their bedroom and closed the bedroom door. Left a note and left but is skeptical they will get back. Quite infuriating though.

I have also replied to Cainiao’s business whatsapp account and I received an automated reply that they are checking with the logistics partner. Would Cainiao do anything to resolve this issue or at least refund me for the lost mail?

Hi!! So I found a listing that has this piece of merch of my fav character that I’ve been searching for a while! The only problem is that it’s a group (?) post and they say to talk privately so that you can select the item i guess?

what makes it worse is that i don’t have a xianyu nor taobao account (and it doesn’t let me really make one in the first place…) so i can’t message them :( Does anyone know how i can maybe fix this or be able to message them so I can get that merch? Thank you!

I've been doomscrolling on taobao and my feeds just full of fakes/mass manufacturered products, and I can't seem to find any legit items/brands. Would prefer female clothing brands that fits a taller frame!

I'll be going to China for a while, and was kind of planning on utilizing TaoBao while I was there for little bits and bobs. Well, turns out us Americans are banned from it.

I understand banning it for Americans for shipment outside of China, but is this also considered banned for folks inside of China?

Additionally, would it be worth using my other passport as a dual citizen? I'm not entering China with my other passport, so I don't know if that'll cause any issues.

Hi everyone, I've already read several posts from people having the same problem when trying to register from the US/Europe, with various suggested solutions such as using an email address. Well... none of them work for me. On the app, my Italian phone number isn't accepted at all. If I try using my email and password, it just doesn't accept them either. I've also tried using the website through a browser. There, apparently, the only option is to log in with a phone number. But when I enter my number and click "Get verification code" I get sent to a CAPTCHA where I have to select images based on a completely cryptic Chinese description. It's literally all in Chinese so I can't even take a screenshot and translate it because the text is deliberately distorted/garbled. At this point I'm pretty sure it's easier to hack NASA's computers than to create an account on this fucking website. Has anyone actually managed to register recently from Italy/Europe? I'm specifically looking for solutions that still work because most of the old advice I've found seems to be completely outdated. Ofc I can't even browse as a guest to search for products, because the moment I open the search bar it tells me I need to register.

Hi, I got a new phone and wanted to get a nice screen protector that handles reflections well. Most of the protectors available in the US seem to be overpriced and worse than the recommendations from bilibili and taobao. Would it be worth buying a few screen protectors from taobao and forwarding them to the US, and if so, are there budget options for small packages? Most forwarders seem to cater to larger shipments, and it seems that the shipping cost would exceed the cost of the product itself.

Hey guys, I'm a bit confused regarding warehouse shipping for taobao items that are only available within China.

I'm aware you have to set the address to the warehouse when you place your order however after that I'm confused.

How do you transfer money to the warehouse for separate shipping charges?

And what's the most reliable warehouse to use as someone in Australia? And whats the shipping time usually?

I've had several accounts in the past that were frozen because I didn't verify with passport (I never bought anything and just used it to browse). I've been using my current account regularly for almost a year now without purchasing anything, and it's still working fine. Would I have to verify passport to use apple pay (I'm considering buying some stuff)?
