What detail makes this pinup work? What needs improved?

This one has a great horror pin-up mix: Elvira-style glamour, crows, bold black shading, blue eyeshadow, orange stars, and that weird sci-fi ray gun detail.

What detail sells this cowgirl pin-up the most?

The hat, heart boots, cigarette, revolver, and stool pose all push the western pin-up look in different ways. For me, the boots and attitude carry it.

Would color make this fairy pin-up better, or is blackwork the move?

This one has a cool fantasy pin-up feel: fairy wings, mushrooms, stars, freckles, and that soft seated pose. I like that it works without color, but I could also see muted purples, greens, or warm skin tones making it pop.

What do you think: better as clean blackwork, or would color improve it?

Tattoo details - eyes

I had a tattoo last week and just turned 50, my first of many, I’m now hooked.
I love the tattoo, the design is exactly what I asked for but I’m just having a problem with the angels eyes. I know they’re in shadow but they don’t look even.

I don’t know if it’s just me or not. Not a major problem l, I can live with it but is this something that could be altered now it’s been done. Like I say this is my first and I just don’t know what a tattoo artist is able to do, especially small details like eyes, after the event. I’ll ask him when I go back and get the next but I just thought I’d ask advice here first. I’m a month off having the next arm done.
Thanks
