Question about AI ratings?

Just to be clear, NO I did not use AI to write my comic. But I wanted feedback and asked grok to rate each chapter and give off strengths and weaknesses. I was wondering if these ratings would be reliable to trust and if with these ratings it would be worth paying for an artist to draw out the comic since I can’t draw. (The arts in stick figures I just had ai rate based on story and dialogue and pacing etc.)

Would you read this? This is my draft.

I have waited for hours. Then minutes, then seconds, and finally I was done.

'' How much time?'' I looked at Mark; he had his stupid mask around his face like usual.

'' Time for what, Jai?''

''Don't call me th-''

'' Jai.''

''Don't.''

He struck a smile, his eyes twinkling under the half mask. '' Jai.''

'' I'm going- DAREDEVIL hunting.''

She rolled her eyes- then looked at his hands. They weren't covered in blood this time, at least. If they were- that would be a matter to investigate.

'' You're going to get hurt.''

'' You care.''

'' Mark.''

''Jai.''

She crumpled her face, looking around the room: the suspicious clock, Mark's face, the couch splattered at the corner of the white room of broken lines. The clock struck 7.

'' Ok.''

He raised a brow.

'' OK?

'' Yes, we can escape now. It's safe.''

'' That's exactly what I LIKE about you!''

She smiled. '' Sure, ego-boy.''

CONTEXT: they are actually faking an adventure; Mark is actually making an effort to fake it while Jai is scanning the room. Also, behind the couch there is a creature with a camera. This all happened because Jai- the smart one- crept inside the room of a powerful being who...is the antagonist. It's a white room. Unfortunately, there was nothing there, and the door- not actually- the room shut itself.

Also, yes, I am aware of the lack of dialogue tags. I'm lazy.🙂

For context the plot is that the main character Dante Barbieri is a fan of Mafia based movies and history so for a final project for his college he does research on the mob and He meets a historian who accidentally sends him back in time to 1923 the peak of the Mafia in New York

basically he accidentally saved one of the members and was Sworn in and He realized that his family knew the Mafia and they recognized his name so they just thought he was a kid looking for a family And job.

The working title I had was "Into the family." But it Wasn't sticking so I wanted to hear your ideas

Looking for a fantasy writing buddy / critique partner

Hi everyone!

I'm 19M and currently working on a small-town YA vampire romance. I'm almost finished with my first draft, and I've never really done the editing/revision process before.

I'm hoping to find someone around my age who also enjoys writing fantasy, YA, romance, or paranormal stories. Even better if you're writing something involving vampires! 😂

I'd love to have someone to chat with about our stories, bounce ideas off each other, and eventually exchange chapters and give each other feedback as we work through our drafts.

I'm obviously happy to read and give feedback on someone else's work too. I'm also just keen to meet other writers who are interested in fantasy and hopefully make some writing friends along the way.

Feel free to DM me if you're interested!

What’s the first line of your WIPs??

I always love to hear about other writers work and the vibes of their stories. So what’s the first line of your book(s)?? I also always like reading these posts and they can open up really interesting conversations. And maybe some background information too!! I’ll go first!!

‘Fairies stopped flying centuries ago.’

My book is a fantasy adventure about how magic got choked to the brink of extinction. It follows a fairy boy named Hierro who has to go into a war-ridden world to find a cure for his colony.

Help me re-name my character because I’m indecisive..

Okay so I’m writing a trilogy fantasy book including fairies, dragons, nymphs and found family.
I originally wrote this characters name as Hiro, just as a place holder. Just based of yk Hero vs Protagonist type thing. But now, it’s kind of just his name. If you’re a writer you might get it.
But the thing is, his name does not really fit into the world that’s kind of just unfolded around me, and the irony of his name is something holding him back kind of. Also, his brother is unnamed and it’s something that’s become annoying to me because I REALLY cannot come up with a name for him. (The names I have come up with are very white sounding and do not match with Hiro dunno what I was thinking)
Sooooo what are some fantasy boy names for both Hiro and his brother pleaseeeeeee. Also they’re both fairies if that helps.

Ask about my characters🫶🏻

I thought of the book name:

“Love is a silent melody“

✨the Plot✨

Emilia Chen, also known as Mia by her friends, is a talented young pianist who plays professionally and gives concerts, that sell out. After she looses her ability to hear (and her family) in an accident, she thinks she could never play again and falls into a deep depression.

Aaron is a boxer and her mom‘s best friends son. As the deaf Mia comes into the house,(his mom is her guardian) he shows a surprisingly gentle side and cares for her, while his mother works (surgeon) and his father is away on business (as always). He gets her out of her depression and gets her to play piano again.

Is this kinda boring? TW: (see description)

So this still needs to go through at least another edit probably, but mostly like level stuff I hope so I wanted feedback now on if the backbone of it was good. Do you get bored, do things make sense, etc etc blah blah.

Also, for the TW, if I said what it was for It would spoil it. If you have anything you don't like to read related to death I would just steer away from this

Basically I’m working on a prologue for the start. it’s where a senator explains how during the 1999 election for president of Gwunia (pronounced gren-ya, fake country near Mexico) he saw a man who’s campain looked to good, so trusting, so promising, but oh was he wrong. I need help for a final sentence where he explains how wrong he was.

My main character!

Is there anything I should add to her moodboard? I am writing a surrealism ( fantasy but it is distorted, dream-driven landscape that rejects realistic logic) and it got pirates sooo anything you would like to see in the book if you were to read it?

Feeling like my passion is being stolen away by tiktok books

So I’ve been writing stories since I was ten, I was obsessed with reading as a kid, and I have had plans to fully publish an original book/books since I was little. The issue for me recently is that it feels almost purposeless, because so many good writers never sell their books/get the credit they deserve, it feels like money and advertising my books would wash them down and also ai is able to copy writing and write entire books now??

Does anyone else feel this way?

I’ve been working on fan fictions for a bit but I also have my own personal stories, but these are all charecters and themes I hold dear to me, but it feels like no one wants to read a book about the things I like. I feel like if I seek outside approval for my writing it will just fail, it’ll become super polished or something.

I also am feeling disencouraged by ai in the writing scene, like my stories could be generated by any ai model and sold on mass while my genuine hours of work and tears are simply forgotten.

I will say AO3 has been a relief for me, it feels like I can write without focusing too much on my workd building (because its a preexisting universe) and I get to make nerdy callbacks to what happened in my story, but even that feels a little hopeless because I dont think anyone will read my writing if it doesnt have smut. The fandom is also dyingggg!

Uh yeah so if any of yall feel the same uh that sucks but at least its not just a me thing?

catholic character

Heyyy guys, I need some advice. I’m writing a story with a Catholic character and I’m not Catholic myself, so I want to make sure I’m portraying her religion respectfully and realistically. I'd love to here about what are some things I should keep in mind when writing her. I’m not trying to debate anything, I just want to learn and avoid getting things wrong!
