Best Menzingers Tour Supporting Artists

Menzingers are my favorite band, but for the past couple years I've been in a big Jeff Rosenstock kick. I was wondering if they had ever toured together and it seems like they did back in 2017 for the ATP release. Seems like it would have been such a good show! Still would love another chance to them both together.

That got me thinking what is the best Menzos show you've seen in terms of the supporting artists and/or what is everyone's biggest tour wish?

Please tell me what's good about The Fool

People seem to like it but to me it's a weird takeoff on Steve Miller Band without anything to write home about sonically or lyrically. To my ears, the guys have never put out this bad a dud. Overall the album is great and I love Tom, so please enlighten me on what I'm missing. I want to like it but at the moment it's an instant skip

Traveling for a show?

How many of you are traveling out of state for a show on this upcoming tour? I live in Phoenix but I'm not a fan of The Nile, so I'm taking a look at the rest of the dates. I'm considering the tour finale in Brooklyn, not because it's close, but I love visiting NY and have seen some amazing shows there over the years. The venue looks beautiful. Anybody else doing this?

Late Midlife Crisis

I'm a songwriter in my 50s, and I was just introduced to The Menzingers. I'm more alternative rock and pop punk than Americana, but those early albums are something special. Here's my dilemma: this past weekend I listened to On The Impossible Past for the first time, and, since that moment, I can't get the chorus of "The Obituaries" out of my head. Whether I'm on a call with the boss, talking to the wife, or playing pickleball with the kid, all I can think is,
But I will fuck this up,
I fucking know it.
I will fuck this up,
I fucking know it.
I will fuck this up,
I fucking know it.
I will fuck this up,
I fucking know it.

I assume most of you here have also experienced this predicament at one time or another, so please advise how to free my mind!

Pedals / effects on Everything I Ever Saw

I meant to take a peak at Greg and Tom's pedal boards at the Stone Pony but, needless to say, got swept up in the joy of it all. I love the vibe of the guitars on the new album - very open. I know Will Yip has more gear than Sweetwater but I wonder what pedals the guys used. Anyone have ideas on the reverb? I think there is some light chorus as well and a pretty transparent boost.

Anyway, go birds.

Super excited that I was able to get tickets and I’ll be seeing them for the first time! Anyone else gonna be making the Austin show?

What are those Chance Encounters?

The verses are about someone disaffected and disillusioned while at the same time recognizing that we are our only saviors. Feel like I got all that. What then is he referring to when he says chance encounters? Chance encounters with whom? And how does it tie back into the song?

Is Time Tables regarded by this sub as THE Chamberlain Waits song? If so, why?

There’s so many other songs on that record that I personally like more and never understood the obsession with Time Tables. Is it because it’s one of Greg’s first dense lyrical storytelling type songs? Personally I think Rivalries is much more compelling.

I love all of Chamberlain Waits, and Time Tables is great and all, but so many other tracks define that record for me.

Is it me or does Other People's money not fit with the album.

I mean I like the message of the song but it just feels so out of place with all the other songs on Chance Encounters.
