[Anime] Finished as an anime only

I Finished the anime. I already knew about the season 2 drama but decided to give it a go anyway.

Season 1 was peak. Lot of plottwists and wtf moments.
I was then more curious about season 2.

I actually enjoyed season 2 but the fact that it had only 11 episodes felt fishy. And the last scene was also weird. No explanations, none.
I expected a sort of war since they reported the incident to those „higher up monsters“. There was this giant dragon and a flying character. Nothing

So apparently 140 chapters were rushed to 11 episodes?!

Who has experienced this and did you „re-read“ the story by reading the manga AFTERWARDS?

Would you guys mind another live action [Manga]

But this time with actors matching the ethnicities

I wouldn’t mind. TPN doesn’t really need that high of a budget.

I know child actors are a concern but I suppose they could always cast older. Not too old but old enough to have less restrictions.

[spoilerless] The Promised Neverland is getting a new bonus chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump on August 24, 2026!

The Promised Neverland is returning to Weekly Shonen Jump in a few weeks. The manga by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with a series of projects, including a 36-page one-shot chapter titled "War vs. Peace” that will appear in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 39 (2026), published on Aug. 24.

The new chapter will be set after the ending of the original manga. This will actually be the fifth one-shot connected to the series. In the official guidebook, The Promised Neverland 0: Mystic Code, Shirai stated that the ending of the manga was constrained by chapter length, so this could be another chance to expand on the conclusion.

[Spoilerless] About the manga

So I watched the first season of this anime when I was younger, it was like the first anime I ever watched and I loved it. I avoided season 2 because I was told it was overwhelmingly dohshit and I’d have a better time watching paint dry. So I never did.

With that being said years later I’ve sort of forgotten most of the stuff (it was like 7 or 6 years ago) so I plan on revisiting it. Watching the anime’s first season before continuing it via manga because I heard that was better than season 2

But I have a some questions.

  1. After I rewatch season 1 of the Anime. Do I read the manga chapters that take place AFTER the events of season 1, or should I reread in full just incase there’s something different in the manga that wasn’t adapted in the show and will be important later on in the manga

  2. Does the manga start getting bad at any point? Should I just read it in full or are there certain arcs that either aren’t important to the later story and can be skipped OR certain arcs that sort of make the story downgrade to where I should just wrap it up once finishing the chapter before that. Or do I just read start to finish

  3. Anything to keep in mind before I start rewatching + Reading?
