I'm waiting on a replacement Tonal 2 delivery since my original Tonal died on Day 1. Until today, I was checking my order status via the link they provided:
https://knowledge.tonal.com/s/order-status
But as of today, that link is dead and it just goes to a general FAQ page.
Does anyone know another way to check order status online - or where the link was moved to?
Looks like I’m getting a CGM.
Anyone with one care to comment on how/if it bothers you while working out on Tonal? Mainly curious if the cords interfere, or vice versa.
Hello, I am looking for app that will help with tracking your daily calories, protein intake help you create good diet plan for strengthening exercises. I have tonal and use it daily for my workouts. I want to build muscles to be stronger, not looking for body builder app. Any suggestions
Hi everyone, I am to be a new owner of a Tonal 2 very soon, and looking forward to it! I wanted your advice on where to place the Tonal.
My home has three bedrooms and a fourth room. The first photo is this fourth room. It has two windows in the corner (they face south and west), and also has a door to the garage. The closet in this room holds all my network gear/server computer stuff. Behind the left wall is the furnace (gas piping is on the other wall and not this wall). There are two studs in my preferred location but they are spaced too narrow so I think Tonal will decline installation there. Next to it is a good stud spacing, and there is 42 inches from center to the right wall. I'm not sure if this will be too tight or not. The right wall has standard stud spacing, the first set of studs will not give me enough room on the left side, but the second one does. Opposite the right wall is the framing for the exterior door.
I like this room because it has my exercise bicycle, too. The bike is not visible here but it is offscreen on the right. It does tend to get warm in the summer as it is blasted by the afternoon/setting sun and cold in the winter. I live a few miles from the shore so opening a window cools it down well.
The second room is a bedroom. The window faces north so it might be gloomy in the winter. I use this room for some storage, and that computer equipment in the corner is getting moved to the closet in the first picture in the future. This one has a set of studs right in the middle so installation should not be an issue. This room is warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer than the other room.
What do you guys think? Thank you for any suggestions you can give!
I started to do aero for the first time and noticed the fan coming on I believe to cool the machine.
Today I just did a normal weight workout and after my 3rd set of neutral grip deadlifts I noticed the fan coming on again.
Is this part of a new update? I've never had the fan come on for resistance based trading. Aero workouts are the only time I've ever noticed it.
I kind of like Tony's inane banter, but for how much he likes to say it, he really should learn to pronounce it right. I winced every with every "coup de gruh".
Unless of course he means to say coup de gras, and he's talking about being struck by a slab of fat, in which case, weird, but less grating.
50/m. Keeping a fairly routine million pounds per six months rate over the last two years. Genuinely happy with progress, too. #justbraggin’
I had the Tonal 1 for about 4 years and then upgraded last year to Tonal 2. Today I went to work out. I tapped teh screen, it woke up, I connected my watch, I then tapped the screen to pick a work out and... nothing. Screen fully unresponsive. I did a hard restart (flipped the switch) for a couple of minutes, turned it back on... nothing. I did it again and this time, unplugged it, nothing.
I called Tonal support and they told me it's not repairable and so they have to switch out the device. It's under warranty but they replace it with a refurbished machine. :/
They estimate 1-3 weeks for install options. I'm going out of town in a few weeks so realistically it's much longer.
Any other fixes I'm not considering while I wait on Tonal?
I like the lying bicep curl, which shows up in some programs. Maybe it's that I'm lazy and prefer not to stand, but it feels easier to isolate the bicep. I realized you can probably do some other exercises in the same position, such as a shoulder press and raises. Maybe even rows can be done from the ground or from lying on a bench (though I guess you're limited because it will tend to pull your torso off the ground.
Thoughts?
Am I the only one experiencing the deepest lack of customer service with Tonal? I have literally been trying to buy their product for weeks and as a teacher trying to take advantage of the offer with the free warranty. Even the rep I talked to said that what I’m experiencing is beyond ridiculous, but still has not followed up. Does a warranty even work with such poor service and utter disregard for a customer who doesn’t even have the product yet? Would love it if there’s a tonal rep in here to help escalate and follow up with resolution. I’ve only heard great things about the product which at this point is the only reason I haven’t moved on. Would also love to know if this is what others are experiencing, whether you own one or are in the same boat. Do I run for the hills or is this an anomaly? Thanks in advance.
But I finished it
For those who have tried both (either had a Tonal 1 and upgraded to a Tonal 2 or who have a Tonal 1 and tried the 2 and decided not to upgrade), how noticeable are the differences? From everything I’ve seen / read, the max weight seems like the only real difference. But curious if there are other benefits (quieter, smoother?) that come through for those already used to the 1. I’m 4 years into my Tonal 1 and am maxed out on a few lifts so am tempted to upgrade just for that, but am on the fence.
Our Tonal 2 finally got installed today. We did the software update - no problem. Halfway through the Weight Assessment test, the screen became unresponsive and the touch screen went completely dead. Everything froze, we couldn't swipe down, etc.
We did the standard unplug/power cycle reset multiple times and it didn't work. Now we have a dead Tonal 2 on the wall and they're telling us 10 business days for a replacement.
Anyone else experience dead touchscreens / bricked units that don't resolve with system resets? This is a serious letdown after dropping $4500.
My house failed my Tonal installation this morning. My location was okay in terms of required space, but the installer hit sheetrock concrete before he could get the screw all the way in. I went to Tonal’s website for instructions for a stud buildout, but the diagram on the page is broken. I found a diagram by searching around the internet (attached). Can anybody confirm whether this is the correct diagram? Any other support materials or words of wisdom people have would be much appreciated — I am not remotely home improvement savvy so will be hiring a contractor to do this and want to make sure the contractor has what they need to be successful since I will be of no use whatsoever!
Edit: Changed sheetrock to concrete. Upon further investigation, I expect the walls in my basement are concrete and that the stud finder‘s signals were nails instead of actual studs.
EDIT: Just adding to the top that it's Tonal customer support telling me this is a scam. I personally thought it was legit hence why I did the survey.
I recently received this email. I've gotten lots of tonal surveys over the years, but a few months ago I got one ( like the above) that asked for an AI interview. I didn't do it at the time, but when I got this one a few weeks ago, I decided to do it.
It was a pretty standard AI interview. It asked a lot of questions about what I find valuable about tonal and especially lots of questions about the type of accessories I'm interested in. It went over prototype details for an adjustable bench and a pilates bench they were considering and asked questions about different designs, prices, etc. It all seemed very legit and it was all 100% focused on tonal, not any of my own personal information was discussed.
Afterwards it told me I was done, but there was no info about the $15 reward. Not a huge deal, but I mostly wanted to make sure tonal got my responses. I emailed them asking and after several days they wrote back to me saying this was a scam email and Tonal sends no such thing.
I sent them the above screenshot and they once again confirmed, this is a scam, not tonal.
I'm.... dumbfounded. What is this purpose of this scam?? Has anyone else received this?
For anyone that may be interested, I've spent some time building out custom plans that I really enjoy and have been effective for me. Feel free to copy, adjust and use as you see fit.

With the current sale I can buy tonal 2 for 750 off with 4 year warranty for first responder discount . Can also use HSA funds and get 250 off from Amex plus 5th year of warranty. I can get tonal 1 with just the 250 off and 1 year of extra warranty with Amex card. Wife wants to use it for Pilates and other workouts. Currently I use a bow flex max trainer and do les mills body pump and hiit classes at home and play basketball. I use dumbbells and a trx strap and a bow flex machine for strength training. . I will use it a few days a week. Also have 15 year old daughter who likes to stay in shape. Do they have these promotions often? We probably will need to install a knee wall on a slanted ceiling but haven’t been able to plan that yet and sale ends at the end of the month.
Howdy! I've had tonal for about a month now and just discovered Pilates. I'd never done Pilates before and wanted to ask people how they were liking it and how it compares for those who have experience.
I've only done two Pilates workouts but my body just feels "right" after doing it. I'm kind of wanting to kick off my day with a short session, kind of like "daily lift". Is there a way to customize daily lift to change objectives to movement quality and functional strength? Or do I just need to wait for Tia?
I did currently enroll in a Pilates program but then I can't enroll in other programs since there's a limit of 1 at a time.
Hello there.
Tonal looks amazing and it looks like something I’ve always wanted.
going to the gym and having squat racks and heavy ass equipment at home seems to discourage me from ever establishing the habit. I feel like barbells are too much for the joints and have too high of a risk of injury.
That’s what attracts me to the tonal. It seems like it’s fairly easy to get the form right while minimizing the risk of injury.
I like how minimalistic the equipment will be and how it will be data driven. I will get the best resistance training sessions possible in the comfort of my own home.
However I am concerned about how much I’m putting into it. Think it was $5500 at checkout for the Tonal 2 plus $60/mo for the subscription.
I can afford it but I’m not feeling so good about the fact that the machine is useless without the subscription. They can jack it up at any time.
Also what happens if the machine breaks past warranty?
Another concern is that the room I want to put it in might not the room I always want it in have kids so as they grow older, I’ll want to shift some things around
I want to look fit and have muscle. And yes I know that comes down to diet and I am already able to stay consistent with dieting, I just haven’t been able to add in the weights for consistency to truly transform my body.
