As someone who loves throwing money at old cars, EVs have been a revelation for me. They touched on two points in the most recent pod that really resonated.

1. They are stupid cheap to run. Really, properly stupid. 300 miles in my Tesla costs me about £6 (or less if it's a sunny day). I've done over 30k miles in it, and it's saved me a fortune (that I can spend on my other cars) in fuel.

2. They are perfect to run alongside fun cars. I have a few interesting cars (V8s, a Porsche, a track car), and the Tesla is the perfect companion. It's comfortable, reliable, practical and cheap to run. I can't think of a better place to spend the boring miles.

When I passed my test in 2021 I couldn’t help but get a car as soon as I got back from the test centre. That car was a 2006 Peugeot 207s that I bought for £400, I owned it for about 6 months before the belt snapped as soon as I got onto the motorway. I’ll always have a soft spot for it because it’s the car I had when I meant my girlfriend. My favourite car is my current car, it’s a 2017 Infiniti Q30s, Nissan x merc collaboration, basically a better looking A class, semi auto, AWD and 211bhp to go along with that (hopefully more in the near future). Newest, best looking and easiest car I’ve had the pleasure of driving after owning 10+ beaters. Pictures below ⬇️
