Even if it's for a brief scene, I would love to see Ed Harris return as Rear Admiral Cain AKA Hammer in Top Gun 3 with a more positive demeanour towards Mav.

Rear Admiral Cain/Hammer has to be in his 70s at least by the time of the third film and would very likely be retired - still, it would be nice to see him appear and give Mav acknowledgement to which Mav responds with a "thank you, sir" or something.

It was good to see Cyclone showing his approval for Mav towards the end of Top Gun: Maverick, I now want to see Hammer doing the same.

Top Gun Maverick

After seeing Top Gun at the movies recently for the 40th anniversary re-release - I knew I just had to watch Top Gun Maverick on the big screen too. I hadn’t had the chance to watch it when it released. Watching it now made me think about how much Tom Cruise has learned from the Mission Impossible franchise. He’s managed the rare balance of taking the best of the structure and elements of some of the later mission impossible movies while staying true to what Top Gun is - a love letter to aviation

Top Gun 2 is the 1st movie in history to gross $1.5 billion because of a re-release now

The movie grossed $1.495 billion in its initial release but its recent re-release pushed it to $1.5 billion. It's also the 15th movie overall to reach the mark

Dream come true

I was in sixth grade when TG came out. I specifically remember watching the opening flight deck scene and thinking to myself “I want to do that!”
Fast forward fourteen years and I was “shooting” Tomcats off of the carrier USS Enterprise in October 2001 during the opening weeks of the war in Afghanistan.

Everything else is just gravy

Top Gun in DBox was better than Maverick in DBox

I took my son to see Top Gun in IMAX last Wednesday, he liked it. He wanted to see Maverick so I took him to see it in DBox on Saturday, he didn't like Maverick, and that's OK. He's five and he's allowed to have opinions. But on the way out of the theater on Saturday he said; "Dad, I'd like to see the first movie again...like we saw this one. I think it'll be better."

So I took him last night. Yeah, seeing Top Gun in DBox was definitely the way to go and I thought it was a much better and cleaner experience than Top Gun: Maverick. It's like they actually put the time in to the DBox experience with this one.

The poster

Does anyone know how I can get a hold of the poster? They didn’t do it in the cinema I went to in the UK and I’m dying to get a hold of it. Or someone to send me a coloured PDF so I can print it out myself.

Wolfman and Charlie!?

I just saw Top Gun in theaters for the first time ever. It was amazing as everyone says it was however, something struck me for the first time in my thousands of times viewing this movie.

Charlie spend the first 45 minutes of the movie convincing Maverick he is special, she doesn’t normally date students, it’s dangerous for her job, etc. etc. Then all of a sudden Maverick quits and Wolfman has her home phone number???

I lived through the 80’s. I know it was a different time but the home phone number would have been a major line to cross as well. How did Wolfman have her home number??

Top Gun in 4DX -WATCH IT NOW!

Ive watched Top Gun more times than I can count, but seeing it in 4DX was INTENSE! SERIOUSLY THE BEST CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. I recommend that everyone sees it in 4DX.

Help finding song

Does anyone know the name of the music track that’s played in the background of the original Top Gun when maverick is at the board of inquiry and gets back in the jet after goose’s death?

What Was Your Experience Seeing Top Gun in Theaters?

This could be any experience, any re-release, anytime. I saw Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick a few times in theaters and was curious what experiences everyone else had.

Question about where Maverick ranks in the TG class

When he meets Warlock and Cyclone he clarifies he was second in his top gun class, right? But Vioer tells him he has enough points to graduate - did he really actually have enough points that he was in second after screwing off for a week or two after Gooses death? And if so why didn’t Viper say he was second? Is there an explanation, am I misremembering something, or is there a continuity error here?
