I'm an arthouse guy who spends a lot of time at on the festival circuit watching films, often catching films that never get a formal release. I'm able to see a lot of what I want to--but there are still some spaces I just can't quite bridge.

When I heard of KaraGarga (KG), it seemed to me a holy grail for my tastes--but I also read that it doesn't recruit anywhere and that the only way to get in is by invite.

I'm more than willing to put in the time and effort to prove myself a valuable contributor--but I'm just not sure how. So, my question:

For those of you who recently got into KG, I'm curious what your journey looked like. For instance, were you uploading rare/obscure films to another tracker when you crossed paths with somebody who had an invite? Or were you making connections with others in the arthouse community and found someone who invited you? Or was it something else entirely?

I'd love to hear any insights on how best to direct my efforts. Many thanks in advance for any guidance you provide. :)

I've been using RuTracker and SLSK, and they're great overall, but I rarely have any luck finding Chinese releases on either of them.

I've been digging a little lately to try and find better trackers for my arr stack, mostly TV and Movies. Most of what I read points to here and r/OpenSignups, however i'm quite unsure on where to get started.

Most people seem to recommend becoming an active member of sites such as MAM to open doors to more private trackers down the line, however, after looking it up, I realize MAM's content is mostly e-books/radio/music, not really what I'm looking for.

I've also heard of TL which apparently is more TV/Movies focused but haven't had any luck in finding a way to join other than wait for invites 2 times a year or so...

I'm down to work my way up the chain, and I'm also down to get on MAM if that's a necessary step, but I'm wondering if those are the only "entry points" to investigate.

Any help greatly appreciated, and looking forward to get in my first real private trackers (hopefully :D)

Specifically old malayalam films are what I’m looking for. Think 1990s-2015 ish. PTP is for sure the best overall movie tracker but how does it fare for more niche industries like Malayalam?

I've been on TL and MAM for a week or two now. On TL I have a 6.0+ ratio and on MAM I have satisfied 20 torrents and working on the next 20 with over 20k points. I have been queing for days to get interviewed for RED, but there's bound to be a power outage for 1 min everyday which disconnects me from the IRC and resets my position in the queue. So I'll have to get to RED through MAM too I guess. How do I progress in MAM I'm pretty new to private trackers. My target is Aither and EMP.

Is there any tracker that focuses on bonus featurettes, behind the scenes, extra material content etc?

Suite à cette fuite de données, les autorités ciblent directement les personnes. Des équipes administratives, des modérateurs et des hébergeurs sont touchés :

• Interpellations confirmées : l'ancien chef de FW, l'ancien chef de TFA, ainsi que Fervex ont été arrêtés.
• Modération : plusieurs anciens modérateurs de YGG ont également été interpellés.
• Origine de la crise : le leak de Grolum a compromis la sécurité de nombreux acteurs, entraînant des rumeurs d'infiltration policière et de fuites de données personnelles massives.
• À venir : d'autres arrestations sont malheureusement à prévoir.

Les fermetures et arrêts (L'état des lieux)

Conséquence directe de cette faille et des arrestations, de nombreux piliers de la communauté tirent définitivement leur révérence ou disparaissent des radars :

I know some trackers enable dual stack (eg, MAM), and some seem to think that you’re dual announcing if you have a dual stack.

For at least those that allow it, do you find that you are more connectable / get better speed / get more upload if you’re dual stack?

been searching around, and as someone who is new to torrenting, the community seems divided on whether you need to use a vpn for something like MAM or private trackers in general.
on one hand obviously its more safe and it seems most people use it, but i see a bunch of other people saying they dont use it and its fine.
so i wanted to know whether anyone had much experience for copyright stuff in aus? i will be mostly torrenting exclusively to for sheet music and music related things.

I applied to Blutopia a while back through MyAnonamouse's official invite/recruitment subforum. As far as I can tell I meet all the stated requirements (ratio, total upload, user class, account age, etc.),nothing flagged as missing on my end. It's been about 2 weeks now and I still haven't received an invite. I'm not trying to invite-beg, I just want to understand the process:

1. Is the MAM to Blutopia recruitment thread still being actively reviewed by a recruiter, or has it stalled?
2. Is this a normal wait time, or does it usually move faster?
3. Is there a step I might be missing? Should I PM a staff member, bump my post in the thread, or just keep waiting?

Anyone who's gone through this recently, I'd appreciate knowing if it's still moving or if I dropped the ball somewhere. Thanks.

I'm kind of a dedicated perma-seeder unless something has a ton of seeds otherwise, but it's time someone called out dumb file naming.

I am right now deleting your uploads from my torrent client:

If your file is called [your.release.group].name.of.film/show
(I'm looking at you, McPwned. Also WATCHABLE)

If your tv show season file is called "Season 1" or "series 1" or god forbid, just "series" .. or god absolutely help you here, "episodes"

If your tv show episode (stand alone torrent) is called "episode X" without the title of the show

If your episode file is called just "Pilot"

If your collection of a director's early work is just called "shorts" or "mini docs" (no director name) or your dvd extras are just called "special features"

If your live music show episode is called "11-12-1078 [guest stars]"

If the title is misspelled

If the title *starts* with a number, is abbreviated painfully / one word excerpt from the title, is just the episode title without context, is an acronym I can't figure out, starts with a #, etc etc

Please friends, name your files something reasonable, like the name of the show (+ the season/episode) or the name of the film. Take a second to double check everything. If your release group name or some other info ("director's cut", "unsold pilot," "NY cast" < examples of helpful stuff!) has to go in the file name, be a dear and stick it toward the end.

EDIT: I really hit a nerve here! I guess we really need to name our torrents "show" and then call people entitled for wanting the show name in them. 👍🏼

I have one where the source is "PLAY", I have no idea what this is, tried various search engines to no avail.

I got a very strange situation in my hands tonight. Today while at work, I got the DMCA email for a file I was monitoring through radarr. I assumed my VPN went down or something, but upon getting home and checking my server, it was up. I use Wireguard with ProtonVPN on Ubuntu 26.04. Another strange thing is that the download is not registered in my torrent client under any category (Completed, Pending, etc). But the log shows it was added and downloaded and media file is there and plays. Not sure what to make of this. Any suggestions?

Due to FNP closing, I'm looking for a new main tracker to use to download Movies and TV Shows. I'm not looking for anything too niche although I do sometimes like to watch more niche content as well (but not really in any one specific niche).

I don't mind the tracker being hard to get into or having high seeding requirements. I'll find a way to get in, I just want to know what is the best tracker.

The only real hard requirement I have is that a VPN or ideally TOR should be allowed while using the site and at no point do they require my real IP-Address.

We have improved our duplicate IP detection system, and going forward Rule 1.2 will be more strictly enforced.

 

We have found a large number of members that are using a VPN, that is not reported (or they've not updated their authorized VPN), and as a result have duplicated the IPs of other members. 
We are giving members 2 weeks to review and report/ update their VPN authorization with us, to ensure they're in compliance with Rule 1.2

 

You can check if you have reported a VPN by checking your User Profile page - VPN.
If it has VPN Registration Confirmed X date, you've reported your VPN. If you did so via ticket (rather than on joining), you can check your Staff Tickets to check which provider you have registered.
If it has Not Registered/Authorized, you have not reported your VPN.

 

A registered VPN means you may use it here, not that you must always use it.

 

You can report a VPN via a ticket

 

Only Traditional VPNs, that are their own tunnel, can be registered.  Not a Plugin/Extension/Proxy/Browser only Feature.

You cannot use: Apple iCloud Private Relay, Opera's Free VPN, Firefox's free browser VPN, etc.

 

PIA, Express VPN, or other VPNs without semi stable IPs:

MaM automatically disables tracker access if you get too many tracker errors - as this puts strain on the tracker. PIA and ExpressVPN have services that don't work well here.

 

Private Internet Access/ PIA

Private Internet Access (PIA) have started rotating IPs. This often means your IP is not stable long enough to be used here and you'll get Unrecognized Host/ Passkey errors. 
We have created a page here that can help you find a good server, however the number of good servers, that don't rotate, is decreasing quickly. It's unlikely to work on MaM long term.
We suggest either getting a dedicated IP with them, or changing VPN providers. 

 

ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN rotates IP's on each connection. They are not stable enough to be used on MaM, unless you have their Dedicated IP option.
