Look at that Tracklist, easily one of my all time favourites, I think this and Tiesto at Energy 2000 are great companion pieces and a snapshot in time where the wave of Classic Trance was peaking.
Nice to have this one remade in top quality audio now too!
Always keep going back to this album - it's an all time favourite I think. Can anyone recommend any albums that are similar style but more recent please? Non vocal or non cheesy vocals. Not proggy. Just pure decent... Well.. electronic architecture.
The first version of Scooter”s ”Posse (I need you on the floor). This was a limited copy edition of the single, signed as Guess Who! instead of Scooter, to make people consider who actually created the song. It contains the standard Club Mix and the Teebee Mix. There is little difference between the two mixes, the Teebee Mix has a little less percution at the intro and has an extra acid interlude. It samples heavily on KLF - What Time is Love, all time favorite of H.P: Baxxter.
An interesting note: there are rumors that the single was not, actually produced, by Scooter, but by someone else who voluntarily handled them the song to publish as their own. If this is true, I think Teebee would be the most likely creator, since the later Radio Edit and Extended Mix did contain the acid interlude from the Teebee Mix. If any of this is true, I do not know, but I wanted to share it as an interesting possibility.
Guess Who! - Posse (I need you on the floor) - Club Mix - Germany, 2001
That dark gritty experimental sound. Like you had drunkenly, or shroomenly? stumbled into a mysterious club only to find out the next morning it never existed (was it a dream or did you physically access another world that night)
EDIT: Need to Feel Loved - Reflekt (Thrillseekers remix) plays when you arrive again 10 years later
This was released under two different artist monikers (both of Simon James Posford) & two different titles each. It was also part of the original soundtrack of the 3D combat flight simulation game "SWIV 3D".
Note: this is the original version.
What should I add to my playlist?
Loving the recent unfiltered episode of ASOT. I usually listen to most episodes, at least since Ep 300 or so. Are there any more of these unfiltered ones though?
These are some of my new favorite tracks. They’re not the perfect representation of what I like but a good idea. I really like Vocal Trance .. how long has it been around? What else should I know! Help me out! This is cool stuff!
Dream You Made (Vocal Trance) and On More Time - Rock Of Anatolian
Ghost Mode - Travis Scott and Billie Eilish
Lay Low and The Business - Tiësto
Gucci and Taki Taki and a lot of others - Makianov
Endless Night - Deepro
Some ROZII songs
Poison Eyes - Adiktsound
Your Feelings - Amir Nazari
Clear Your Mind - Lonely Mood
Phoenix - Perfectly PerfeKt
Fade Into You - Nøxen
Went to Lumi last thursday and sunday.
I know it's no secret that festivals these days are increasingly costly for organizers and rely almost exclusively on revenue from food and drinks sold at exorbitant prices. But I think there needs to be a balance between keeping prices high and treating guests like idiots to be ripped off as much as possible.
One positive note for Luminosity is that at least they don't use those stupid tokens (very common in NL, not just at festivals but sometimes even in clubs)... (borderline legal, minimum 20€ top-up, 1 token for the deposit cup (!!), the usual hassle with leftover tokens, etc.)
But that's the end of the positives.
12€ for a small locker is already a non-sense if you ask me, but ok... (also still less than the 15€ I paid for another event a few weeks ago)
Drinks: 18€ for a vodka redbull. I think it was supposed to cost """"only"""" 16, but since I didn't receive a deposit token at the door, I paid full price. At this point it's probably cheaper in Ibiza clubs (which are notoriously expensive).
But okay, someone might say you're not obligated to drink alcohol. And that's true, I think the general trend is that more and more people aren't drinking (in general, not just at festivals) and are simply ordering water. And guess what: organizers noticed it too. 5,3 for a small beer, 7,2 for a bottle of water: https://imgur.com/a/BgNi3AG
But this is not the best part yet.
It's summer, sunny and hot. For the first two days with very high temperatures they provided free water stations, it almost seemed like a dream...!
And then of course they promptly removed them on Saturday and Sunday ROTFL!
Quite embarrassing if you ask me.
I wonder: do we really have to get to this point? Can't we find a middle ground? There are festivals that despite the "crisis" continue to offer free water or at least refrain from charging such prices. Obviously without knowing the financial statements, we can't know how much profit the festival actually makes.... so maybe, without removing those water stations over the weekend, the event would have been a loss (I highly doubt it, but so be it...)
I'm especially disappointed because these kinds of dynamics always ruin the overall experience of an otherwise fantastic festival.
Again, I'm not arguing that people should pay more inside, but I think the limit has been crossed. The only effect this has, at least on me, is to make me feel cheated. So I'm not sure I will be coming back next year (when prices will inevitably rise again btw).
One final note about the music itself, since this is a music subreddit: Enigma State best set of the entire weekend for me, just like last year. He deserves the mainstage!
