Planning trip to Jibhi have questions

Hi we're planning a trip to Jibhi , Shoja and Tirthan Valley in September end it would be great if someone who has information could answer our doubts

  1. How is the weather there in September end?
  2. Is travelling from Jibhi to Shoja and from Jibhi to Tirthan Valley easy if we self plan the trip without any tour guide i.e is transport easily available?
  3. What would be the per person cost approximately for 3N 4D ?

Planning a trip (3rd–7th July) Confused between Jibhi & Tirthan Valley. Is it safe right now?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip from 3rd July to 7th July and I'm confused between Jibhi and Tirthan Valley.

With the monsoon starting, I'm a bit concerned about the current situation. Are the roads open? Is it safe to travel there during these dates, or would you recommend postponing the trip?

I'm looking for:

  • Current road conditions
  • Any landslide or weather-related issues
  • Whether Jibhi or Tirthan is the better choice right now
  • Any recent experiences from people who have visited in the last few days

Would really appreciate any updates or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Solo trip to Shoja-Jibhi

Went on 19 June. HRTC bus left bus stand at 12 night, reached Aut at 9 AM. Took 9:15 bus to Banjar, 1.5 hrs. Then 11:15 bus to Shoja. Bus stopped in Ghiyagi for breakfast. Reached Odin Shoja ~2 PM.

Sat
Joined a grp heading to Shoja waterfall with guide. The forest trail was green and vivid. Had chai, siddu at the tea stall. Met the people in my hostel, played cards, dinner over bonfire and rounds of dumb-charades.

Sun
Went for a walk towards Firgun early morning. Took a shared cab ~11:30 (Rs 200) to Jalori Pass since bus did not come. It was drizzling, bought a raincoat and did Raghupur Fort. Mesmerising green fields. Went till raghupur lake and took a lift back to hostel by 5.
Dinner at Chauhan dhaba.

Mon
Checkout and took a shared cab to Jibhi for Rs200. Dropped bags at Whoopers and headed to Bahu village. I had walked ~5km uphill when bus found me at 2 pm. Then a 2.5 km trail from where bus dropped. There were 10 people max at Balu Nag temple. Had momos and chai. It was 4 by the time I came down, could not find shared cab. Took lift halfway and walked back the rest 5 km. Roads are good, one can take 2W. Dinner at Saaksh cafe.

Tues
Went to the stream in morning. Booked scooty for 1100 and headed to Chehni Kothi. Go as high as u can and then take whatever stairs you see. This felt like ~3 km trail, took me a lil more than a hour to walk up since I left the 2W at the base. Met an uncle who guided me half way. Reached by 11. Stayed for a hr and started down. Lunch at Polla cafe. Waited for bus from 2:30. There were 2 buses , at 2 and 3:45, both full . Took shared cab (Rs100) till banjar, reached by 5:15. Then the 6pm bus to Aut, reached by 7:45. Heavy traffic and roads were blocked. Bus at 9, reached Delhi at 6am Wednesday.

A lot of my time was spent on waiting for bus and commute. One can stay at either Jibhi/Shoja throughout and start the day early. Skipped jibhi waterfall and kulhi katandi. It drizzled a lil on sat and sun noon. And it was sunny the rest of the time.
