7c or 9c for moderate gold deff player

Hi,

On the last server I spent around 30€ which got me a gold club, 24/7 res bonuses and a good reserve. I don't want to spend more than that. Do you think I should stay with 7c or go for a 9c? Is it possible to manage a 9c without spending more gold on res balancing?

Also a bonus question, romans or egyptians for deff and gold saving? (Egyptians have waterworks, but Romans have less crop consumption, right)

I've been building a browser mmo alone for a year. alpha opens soon and i need 150 people to break it

I've been building a browser MMO alone for the past year. Opening alpha soon, looking for 150 people to break it.

It's a persistent strategy game that runs in your browser. You join a shared galaxy with real opponents, build a nexus, and compete until someone wins. When a galaxy ends there's a final leaderboard, a winning faction, and it's done. Then a new one starts. Your history carries over, the galaxy doesn't.

The core loop: economy ticks while you sleep, three resources, eight buildings, scaling costs. You train troops (twelve types, everything from cheap fast units to slow heavy platforms that take two hours). Travel times on the map are real so timing actually matters. You scout before you commit. You raid to steal resources. You conquer by sending an Overseer unit with an escort, winning the fight while it survives, and repeating until enemy control hits zero. Then the nexus is yours.

There's an espionage layer too. Embed operatives inside enemy nexuses for live intel, or burn them on sabotage runs against build queues and stockpiles. A well-leveled Shield Grid exposes enemy spies. It's not decorative.

Factions can declare war, sign NAPs, trade agreements, vassalage. World events fire on the live map and everyone races to respond. Derelict ships with unguarded resource depots, production storms, rogue AI cores that start raiding nearby nexuses on their own.

No pay-to-win. No energy bars. Runs in the browser, installs as a PWA.

I'm opening 150 alpha slots. Founders get a permanent badge, a hall of fame entry, naming rights if their faction wins the galaxy, and a referral system where you earn something real when people you invite stick around.

My Travian-inspired game Thronewake - new 3X server on 23 May!

Hey everyone,

My name is Mike and a few weeks ago I posted here about Thronewake, the Travian-inspired browser game I’ve been building. Quite a few people from this subreddit gave it a try, which was genuinely really helpful! Both for finding bugs and for getting feedback from people who actually know this kind of game.

Since then, the second public server has been running, I’ve pushed a lot of improvements, and I’m now opening a fresh new 3X server on 23 May. You can reserve your spot now!

For anyone who missed the first post: Thronewake is a (mobile-first) browser strategy game inspired by Travian, with villages, resources, alliances, chat, reports, rankings, an endgame, and a combat system that will feel very familiar. It has three playable tribes: Embermark Dominion, Stormfang Clans, and Verdant Wardens - plus the NPC Ancients.

A few things are intentionally different: there’s no hero system, no pay-to-win, and players can set up to 6 hours of safe time per day during which they cannot attack or be attacked. I still like the long-term strategy of these games, I just don’t want them to reward completely unhealthy schedules.

If you wanted to try it before but didn’t feel like joining a world that had already started, this is probably the best moment to jump in. You can already register and reserve a spot for the new server here:

Crop finder gone wrong

Anybody used the cropper finder, founded the village only to find its bugged and founded the square next to it? I’m livid and hoping support can relocate my village.

I’ve been building a browser-based MMO RTS for the past while and I’m finally opening alpha. Looking for players who want to actually break things.

It’s a persistent galaxy game. Shared world, real coordinates, real travel times. You build a nexus, expand your economy, train troops, scout neighbors, raid them, or get raided. Every player is in the same galaxy and the map doesn’t reset.
No pay-to-win. No premium currency. Just you figuring out whether your neighbor is a future ally or a future problem.
There are 12 troop types with different roles, 8 buildings per nexus, and three resources keeping everything running. Fights are resolved by composition, not by whoever spent more. You can capture enemy nexuses by grinding their control down with an Overseer unit, which I like a lot as a mechanic.
It runs in the browser and works as a PWA so you can check in from your phone. The economy ticks 24/7, you queue builds before bed, and plan strikes around real travel times. Very much a game you can play alongside your life rather than one that demands you sit in front of it.
Alpha is open now. 150 spots total, 12 taken so far. If this sounds like your kind of game, link in the comments.
Happy to answer anything about the design or current state of it.

Top 100 Solo Player Looking for Old School Duals to Push Top 10

Hey everyone,

I am currently playing solo on INT30 (x3) and sitting comfortably in the Top 100. I am incredibly active, but playing solo has its limits. I want to push this account into the Top 10 and keep it there, so I am looking for one or two duals to join me.

About the Account:

  • Position: Top 100 (Solo)
  • Tribe: Teutons
  • Gold: Fully covered by me. You do not need to buy gold.
  • Activity: Very high, but looking for coverage during my off-hours.

What I am looking for:

  • Type: Casual, old-school players who know the game mechanics.
  • Goal: Relaxed but smart play to efficiently climb the ranks together.
  • Time Zone: Any time zone is welcome, but ideally looking for coverage during 2AM -11AM GMT+3

If you want to jump straight into a well-established, funded account and push for the top spots without the stress of early-game grinding, drop me a DM here and we can discuss.

PS: It's my first time back since 2010, so it's only the start of our journey for more servers to come!

Let's take this account to the top!

Capital, palace, residency

Been a minute since I played. Is this the order these days?

  1. Get 2nd village (15c)
  2. Build palace, claim capital, destroy.
  3. Replace with residency, build to 10, settle v3.
  4. Settle v3, residency 10, settle v4
  5. Push one of these residency’s to 20 for v5
  6. V4 becomes hammer, build palace, 3 chiefs (eventually).

Is that more or less the deal?

Or do you go

  1. Build palace. Push palace to 10.
  2. Settle v3.
  3. Residency 10, settle out of v3.
  4. Push palace to 15. Settle v4 out of capital.
  5. Eventually, destroy palace, rebuild in v4 for hammer, same outcome.

[Alpha Update] KlodOnline : Building our new Quest System & Massive UI Overhaul

It’s been a while since our last update! The team and I have been grinding hard to move KlodOnline from "ambitious prototype" to a more cohesive strategy experience.

As always, we’re building this in our spare time, so progress isn't always as fast as we’d like—but the foundation is getting solid. We know the "new player experience" is a hurdle right now, and while most MVP features are now in, we felt it was time to bridge that gap.

That's why I've chosen to focus on our last Major Feature: The Quest System.

It is the biggest architectural shift since our launch. We're building a full-blown "Quest Engine" that hooks directly into our game turns. This will replace our manual onboarding with a dynamic, divinity-driven quest system (favors, missions, and RPG-like objectives) to keep you busy from turn one.

Don't hesitate to give it a try! The game is still available in 5 languages: Klod-Online

You can follow us on Twitter And join our community on Discord

Long intro aside, here is what’s new since last time:

New Features

  • Automated player ranking system (April 7)
  • Message filtering for game mails (April 9)
  • New trading system mechanics (April 21)
  • Drafted new player profile panel (May 10)
  • Detailed fight reports (May 9)

Improvements & UI

  • Big UI/UX overhaul: Completely rebuilt CSS/Front-end for a cleaner, smoother experience.
  • Improved initial placement for new players (March 31)
  • Refined map view and general interface performance (March 30)
  • Multiple quality-of-life improvements across the game (April 27)

Fixes

  • Barbarian targeting logic: Fixed for water tiles and new players (March 31)
  • Rumours system: Resolved various issues (April 5)
  • Chat reconnection: Improved stability (April 12)
  • General polish: Fixed unselectable units and various display bugs (May 4)

Help me identify jargon of each Travian community by language

Hi Reddit,

I recently shared here the online tool I am building for automated calculations:

https://travculator.com/

I am now adding guides to the website (ongoing work), and I realized that most communities have their ways of saying things. For instance I am aware that English speaking communities will call an attack plan an OP, whereas Spanish communities will call them a Round.

As I am trying to keep the website multilingual, I hereby ask for your knowledge on community specific ways of saying Travian-specific concepts, so I can make the website as accessible and understandable as possible for everyone.

Thanks!

Update: table with concepts you guys have given me either in comments or via direct message. I would appreciate help filling the blanks!

Update 2: I have converted the table into a rosetta stone of sorts in the website:

When do oasis resources start producing?

Is it after ALL animals have been cleared once?
If even a single rat remain, no resource prod?
Or something else entirely?

Special Game World question(s)

Hi all, I have not played this game in a long, long time. Currently jumped on a 1x International server to try one of the new (to me) races and dip my toes back into the water - and saw that midweek there is the Travian Nordics 3x starting.

First question is probably a silly one but I'll ask it anyway, is this actually region locked or will I be able to play it based in the UK?

Next, it mentions "Prepare your advanced start" - what is this and how does this work?

I saw Vikings was an introduced race - but they're not getting them out for the Nordic server?!

Not a question but 18c seems wild!!!
