Do you guys consider a bad idea to build the main army/hammer in the 15/9C capital? I do not use Gold and I do not have enough resources to maintain the big barracks and big stable..

Is it a Bad idea to build the army in the 15C?

Hey everyone, i'm currently playing Romans on a 2x server, i was actually waiting for the international 3x which will be launched at 9th of July but then i got bored and started a 2 days old server. Since i started a bit late i'm late in my 2nd vilalge rush and few spots i had my eye on were taken before i could act.

Now here is my question: If i decide to chief one of these targets (15c taken by a teuton) will the conquered village convert to my cultre (Roman) or stay in the previous owners? Is there nothing i can do? I want to conquer this village but i don't want to play as teutons there since i'm planning to make this village my crop capital.

Or should i just let go of this server and wait for the 3x that will be coming in July? 😥 Obviously i don't want to do this because i've been actually raiding and developing my ass of for the last 2 days and i don't want the effort to go to waste.

Hello! I'm playing Travian for the first time and I think I'm doing pretty well so far, but I definitely have some questions that maybe more experienced players can help answer.

I'm playing on a x1 server as Gauls, and I currently have 2 villages. I am part of an alliance (server's top 10) that is quite active.

First village

Almost all resource fields are level 9, my Main Building is level 15, and I've researched up to Druid Riders. I can currently store 21,400 of each resource.

Initially, I built an army of around:

• 200 Phalanx
• 150 Swordsmen
• 100 Theutates Thunders
• 50 Druid Riders

I'm constantly raiding smaller villages almost nonstop with my Swordsmen and Theutates Thunders, while the Phalanx and Druid Riders stay at home for defense just in case. I also have 50 Pathfinders for defensive scouting purposes.

My Marketplace is level 14, and my second village is 18 minutes away. For the last few days, I've been constantly sending resources there whenever I don't have buildings or upgrades queued.

One thing I did that I'm not sure was a big mistake or not: I built several Crannies to protect my resources. I currently have 7 level 10 Crannies, which protect about 21k resources, basically matching my storage capacity.

The downside is that this leaves me with only 2 empty building slots, and I'm not sure if that's okay. My thinking was that if I can store X amount of resources, I should try to protect roughly the same amount with Crannies.

I've also stopped producing troops in this village because I later learned that the main army should generally be based in the cropper, so I assumed it's not smart to create a crop shortage here.

Current population: ~400

Second village (15c cropper)

All resource fields are currently around level 5–6, and I'm working on increasing them further.

I can store 11,800 of each resource.

My understanding is that this should become my military village, so I've researched up to Haeduans. I've also upgraded Theutates Thunders twice in the Blacksmith (or Forge? Not sure what the English building name is), and so far I've produced around 40 Theutates Thunders. I've started raiding from this village as well.

Since I haven't received any attacks yet, I haven't built any Crannies here. About half of the village is still available, with 11 building slots open. I also have 50 Pathfinders here, but no defensive troops.

Current population: 173

Hero

My hero is level 13 and I try to do adventures whenever possible.

All of my hero skill points are invested in resource production (spread across all resources rather than focusing on a specific one).

I've been using gold to balance resources and occasionally finish building queues instantly, and I plan to continue using gold in the future.

Anyway, enough context. Here are my questions:

1. What is the typical flow and role of each village? At this stage of the game, should my first village stop owning troops entirely and simply support the cropper with resources?
2. Were the Crannies a big mistake, a small mistake, or actually fine? What would you have done differently?
3. Should I also follow the same crannies strategy for the cropper village? Yes? No? Partially?
4. Does my plan for the 15c look good so far? Any general tips or recommendations?
5. Should the Workshop be built in the 15c, or does it not really matter where it is?
