Help

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Triumph Scrambler 400X and I've been learning how to rev-match while downshifting. Today, while practicing, the bike shut off twice during a downshift.

What's confusing is that it didn't feel like a normal stall. Both times I heard a distinct "click" sound and the engine cut out, but the dashboard stayed on normally. It restarted without any issue afterward.

I'm still new to rev-matching, so it's possible I'm making a mistake with my technique. Has anyone experienced something similar on the Scrambler 400X? Could this just be rider error while learning rev-matching, or is there something I should have checked ?

Also do y'all hold the front break while rev matching to slow down the bike ?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Bike damaged [OP]

Hey guys,

I just bought my scrambler 400x this month and my bike was standing in the pg parking, some idiot with his activa couldn't control his scooty and hit my parked bike. And my bike fell to the right side.

My bike's handlebar is tilted to one side and there are other scratches also (all in the video). Now I need advices as what should be my next step(can i do a police complain?) Also any idea how much will be the total charges to repair my bike?

Should I wait for the radiator fan to stop before turning off my Scrambler 400X?

Hey everyone, I own a Triumph Scrambler 400 X. Recently, after riding around 25 km from college to home, I turned the bike off immediately after parking. Later that evening, I noticed some coolant leaking underneath the bike, which honestly scared me a bit.

The next day, I took it to the service center. They topped up the coolant to the MAX level (maybe even slightly above it), and the service advisor told me that after a ride, I should wait for the radiator fan to stop before switching off the engine.

Now I’m wondering — is this something all Triumph 400 owners normally do? Do you guys wait for the fan to stop before turning the bike off, or was this just a one-time issue related to coolant expansion/overflow?

Would appreciate your experiences and advice.

Is this engine sound normal?

Took delivery of my Scrambler 400x today.

I'm hearing this noise/sound (ig radiator fan noise). Can somebody confirm if this is normal?

Also when I turn off the ignition, I get a huge sound from the radiator (not part of the video). Drove 10 kms in 2 instincts and hear the huge sound from the radiator every time I turn off the bike. Is that also normal?

Thanks!

My front brake lever broke , where do I get spare

Hey guys, my bike broke down the day before yesterday because of loose earthing. Because of that, the bike slipped, and the footpeg and front brake lever broke. It was raining too, so it was very hard to move around.

Triumph folks gave me a spare footpeg, but no front brake lever. I searched all service centers in Kochi for a spare, but it was out of stock.

I am aware that KTM Kakkanad and Bajaj would have it, but neither of them are reachable.

There used to be an aftermarket parts shop near Triumph Vytilla, but that closed down.

Do you guys know any aftermarket shop that could provide this, or any online retailer that sells this?

Or if anyone has contact to the KTM or Bajaj service centers, that would be great. I am unable to reach them.

Edit : My bike was taken to service center and I asked them directly regarding the spare part. So did I go to rest of the service centers myself.

Help

Hey guys, I recently bought the new Triumph Scrambler 400X (my first bike), and honestly I’m super excited but also a bit anxious 😅

Before this, I used to ride my elder brother’s T4 sometimes, so I do have a little riding experience, but the Scrambler feels much bigger and more powerful.

I had a couple of doubts:

While downshifting, I usually rev match. I’ve seen some people say rev matching can damage the engine/gearbox if done often. Is that actually true, or is it completely normal?

Whenever I downshift — even normally — I hear a slight “click/clunk” sound from the gearbox. The shifting also doesn’t feel as smooth as it did during the test ride. Is this normal for a new bike? Does it get smoother after the first service and break-in period?

Another thing I noticed: sometimes while rev matching/downshifting, I hear a small “puff/puff” sound, almost like air blowing out from the exhaust. Is that normal on the 400X, or am I doing something wrong while blipping the throttle?

Apart from that, I’m honestly loving the bike so far. The ride quality, road presence, and overall feel are amazing.

Would appreciate any advice from experienced 400X owners 🙌

Estimated cost

Ao I have been in an accident recently with my scrambler 400. The damages include:

The headlight smashed badly, the radiator bent in, the coolant reservoir broke, the front alloy of the wheel bent and broke, the right hand guard broke and the front wheel guard also broke. I'm currently recovering and haven't been able to take it to the service centre. I want to know how much could the costs run into? Thanks.

**Didn't have 1st party insurance

Thoughts on Price

I'll be taking delivery of my Scrambler 400x very soon (in Hyd).

I bought it from Amazon as I was getting ~19k discount (6158 instant discount + 12664 Cashback)

Apart from this, dealer is giving AMC for two years + Extended Warranty for 10 years for 4k combined. (2k+2k). Is this worth buying?

What do you'll think?
