Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

Hey carriers, I'm a broker with 16 dry van loads and I need your help (and your best rate)

Alright, let me be straight with you.

I'm a freight broker. I spend my days on the phone and in front of a screen trying to match freight with the right people to move it. And right now, I've got a customer with a solid lane that needs reliable carriers — not a one-and-done, but actual consistent volume over the next few weeks.

Here's the load:

Picking up out of Bedford Park, IL 60638, delivering to Beloit, WI 53511. About 90 miles, straightforward run. The freight is palletized bundles of treated wood boards, up to 44,000 lbs. Standard dry van, nothing exotic.

The schedule looks like this, 2 loads this week, 9 loads next week, and 5 more the first week of June. That's 16 loads total. My customer needs this moved and they need it done right.

I don't have a target rate to throw at you. I'm not going to lowball you with a number and see who bites. That's not how I like to do business. So instead, I'm coming here and asking you directly — what's your best rate on this lane?

Work&travel student questions

Hi guys, I’m coming to truckee for the summer, as the title says, with the program W&T. It’s my first time in the states, and I have a couple of questions, if anybody can help:

  1. Coming from Romania, I need a mobile service provider, preferably e-sim, and being a student I am looking for a lower price for the subscription.
  2. I thought about getting an electric scooter or a bike, where should I look to buy one of these?(if anyone trusted is selling I would appreciate)
  3. In my last 2 weeks of the program, I’d like to travel, I’m open for any kind of tips&tricks

Looking for band members

16yo Drummer looking for Guitarist/Singer. We have drums and bass covered currently. Influences are Post Hardcore/Emo/Shoegaze, bands like Title Fight, Smashing Pumpkins, Cap n’ Jazz, Modern Baseball, Deftones(?) We are both still in high school so keep that in mind.
