Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

Chainsaws chainsaws chainsaws

Live in Tahoe Donner.
I can’t have more than 20 immediate neighbors.
But it’s been the incessant sound of chainsaws daily for months now.
Y’all done yet?
Defensible space is important, yes I know.
But this is unbearable.
Feels never ending.

Hot tub

We need to replace our hot tub. Last time we used Mountain Home and something. It was fine, but I feel like one is paying a premium there.

Anyone had experience getting something from Reno?

This is for our place in soda springs.

Thanks

Expectation vs Reality of Bud’s Fountain

Just a quick rant about bud’s ice cream, the service and product was not good. Bought my son a $9.88 milkshake that had the quality and presentation of something you’d find at a crappy fast food chain right along with the crappy plastic cup. Maybe that price tier is just tahoe tax but the whole experience at bud’s was off putting. Wasted potential of an original, historic soda fountain ice cream parlor.

What movie are they filming off of 40?

My dad said that they were filming something near rainbow bridge. More accurately he said that they would be filming Wednesday and Thursday and have signs everywhere that you can’t park on the side of the road and there are multiple trucks and trailers. I’m just curious to know if anyone has that 411

Old pizza parlor?

Funny the random things we remember. Is that pizza parlor still around that had the excitebike arcade game? The restaurant itself was always a landmark to me

We're talking 20+ year ago...
