What happened to Spotify?

Regardless of whether I am using the IOS, Windows, or Webplayer versions, uninstall and reinstall, it is practically dysfunctional. I can't even open the app and expect it to play my songs because it takes so long to load each one. WHY WHY WHY. I JUST WANTED TO LISTEN TO MUSIC BUT IT CANT EVEN DO THAT.

Spotify’s new "Music > Following" update is completely broken for anyone who follows more than a handful of artists

Spotify removed the clean "What's New" tab and replaced it with a buried feed under Home > Music > Following. Instead of automatically showing new releases for all followed artists, it now forces users to manually select or configure who they care about...

I follow 1,800 artists, manually curation is completely impossible. Why would they replace a one-tap chronological feed that actually worked with a tedious UI that misses drops and makes tracking music a chore? Are other heavy users dealing with this on version 9.1.72.1891, and is there any workaround?

How do you guys discover NEW music on Spotify?

Hello,

I was curious about how everyone else here finds fresh songs or podcasts on Spotify.

Do you rely on Discover Weekly/Radios, search specific mood keywords, or just look outside the app on TikTok and social media?

I put together a super quick 2-minute poll to see what methods work best for everyone:

Would love to hear your thoughts and any tips you have!

I somehow got free premium

Hey guys, I opened spotify for the first time and have multiple premium features (free skips, DJ) i was skipping for a while a few minutes before a made this post, getting no ads until i caught this. I have yet to have paid for premium and i'm very confused, is this a promo?

Where the hell are the lyrics?!

Not that I need the lyrics to recite this whole song, but the fact they aren’t there pisses me off. Especially because I have Spotify premium. So where tf are they? Instead there’s a link to merch being sold by Spotify… corporate greed has no fucking end

Why did we remove the ability to just "hit the DJ button" on mobile?

DJ now requires you to basically tell it what to play, which defeats the purpose of why it was originally made. Why? Still works the way it should on desktop for now.

Is anyone else seeing an inaccurate number of songs on Spotify?

One of my favorite bands is Florence + the Machine, and I've been listening to them for years. I usually have over 50 songs, but spotify is saying I only have 19. Is anyone else having that issue?

How come spotify music video is worse than youtube?

This is unacceptable for someone pay premium price. I can feel the volume and detail is much less than youtube. Only in audio mode spotify is better

Is there a way to disable the Jam feature?

Today, while driving home from work, someone started a jam with me (I was so confused when my folkish playlist abruptly stopped and started playing rap 😂) I was skipping through songs so fast, and they left like 30 seconds later. I didn't see them join, but I looked down at my car's display and saw "Name Left". I never had that happen before, but now that it has, how do I disable this feature? I looked everywhere in the settings on the app and couldn't find anything.

Android app finally snappy again after latest alpha update

After weeks (if not months) of sluggish performance, the app is finally running as quickly as it used to.

All this following today’s latest update (alpha version 9.1.78.1283), it’s not just a placebo effect imho.

Bear in mind that I’ve never uninstalled the app or cleared the cache, so let’s hope this is the right direction 💪🏼

Are they getting rid of Spotify family basic tier

Got this email and I current have the basic family. Not sure if they’re getting rid of it, raising the price, or making me be in the regular tier. Any info helps

EP and LP grouping

I feel like EPs and albums should be grouped together on artists’ pages. EPs are basically mini albums, so in my mind it would make sense and would make navigating an artist’s discography a little easier.

Depending on the artist, you sometimes have to scroll through like 7 singles they released for an album, then a random EP, then a couple more standalone singles, etc. It can make the experience kind of annoying.

Is there a reason most streaming services separate EPs and albums like this instead of grouping them together chronologically?
