Oder rechnet man nur weil es das abgespecktere Mathe für Physiker ist?

Ich überlege, mein Physikstudium an der TU Berlin zu beginnen und bin etwas abgeschreckt, weswegen ich mich frage, ob man nicht doch zur HU/FU wechseln sollte.

I'm kinda curious how the masters program Computer Engineering is for you guys. I understand so much of it is electives so your experience might not be the same as someone else but regardless, any subject you hated the most, things you wished you did differently or niche details you only figured out a year into this program ?

Ich schwanke aktuell für ein Bachelorstudium in Elektrotechnik zwischen der TU Berlin und HTW Berlin.

War mir beinahe sicher an die TU zu gehen, die hat echt viele Wahlmöglichkeiten, aber die Nachrichten über den Zustand Uni geben einem schon zu denken.

Wie stark betrifft ET die akutellle Situation? Könnt ihr gut Laborpraktika machen? Wie sieht es mit den Vorlesungen aus?

Diesen Freitag steht bei mir der 2. Termin an. Die Bestehensgrenze liegt ja bei 8 von 20 Punkten. Beim 1. Termin habe ich komplett ohne Vorbereitung 5 Punkte geholt – allerdings hatte ich da, ehrlich gesagt, auch einfach verdammt viel Glück.

Da der zweite Termin jetzt kurz vor der Tür steht, wollte ich fragen: Haben hier ein paar Leute den Test schon hinter sich und können mir Tipps geben, wie ich mich am besten darauf vorbereiten soll?

Ich habe noch die Screenshots vom ersten Test. Reicht es eurer Erfahrung nach aus, einfach nur diese Fragen auswendig zu lernen, oder haut das nicht hin?

This is my first post on reddit ever so bear with me- I'm pretty desperate here.

So I've been living in Germany three years now (I'm from the US), I first completed a Studienkolleg which was unfortunately in English, then I learned C1 German, and as a last-minute way to not get deported, I got into an architecture program at a Hochschule. During this semester I've only participated in half the classes, I'm only doing half the exams, and I've been mostly focusing on learning German to the point of Telc C1 Hochschule and a buncha Aptitude exams for TU applications.

I've always wanted to study architecture and I've heard that TU's are the best schools for this field in particular (most internationally recognized which would help me a lot in the future!). However, because I did technically study architecture for one semester at a Hochschule, I cannot apply for a first semester of this subject again, right? One TU has already rejected me with this reasoning. So tbh now I'm kinda freaking out.

I don't think any credits will transfer over because 1. it's a hochschule that I'm studying at, and 2. my current architecture program is in English. I was looking forward to starting over fresh in Semester 1 at at TU in German, now I think I'll go another year of pushing off this dream. :(

If anyone has any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated! Or if anyone knows good counselors/beratungsservice for international students (besides DAAD). I'm struggling with this process so much.

I'm a master's student in acoustics from Brazil, and I'm working on a research project involving room acoustics simulation. The Audimax at TU Berlin is one of the reference cases in my study (it's part of a well-known benchmark dataset for room acoustics), so I'd love to have some real photos of the space.

Since I'm based in Brazil, I can't visit in person, so I'm hoping someone who studies there or has access to the Audimax might be willing to help.

If you happen to be around the building, a few interior photos would be incredibly useful — things like:

• General views of the hall (from the back, the stage area, the sides)
• Any acoustic treatment inside the hall (panels, absorbers, diffusers, or special wall/ceiling finishes)
• The side corridor and the hallways that lead into the auditorium
• The door on the right side of the stage that opens to the street (both inside and outside views if possible)
• Any architectural details that stand out

I also have a specific question: in the brick walls, there seem to be gaps/openings in the mortar. Do these openings connect through to the side corridor, or are they closed cavities within the wall itself? Any photos or information about this detail would be especially helpful.

Hello all! Which is the best student accomodation provider? I looked at the studierendenwerk and that has a very long waiting list and studentendorf. Are there any other that are catered to students? I also looked at wg gesucht but that seems for full apartments

I have an admission offer from TU Berlin – Process Energy & Environmental Systems Engineering (PEESE) and I’m waiting for a decision from TU Dortmund – Process Systems Engineering (PSE).

My background:

B.E. Chemical Engineering

~2 years of industry experience

Open to both energy and process systems fields
I’m not looking for generic advice like “follow your interest.”

I want to know which option is stronger overall based on:

1. University reputation
2. Job opportunities in Germany and worldwide
3. Industry connections
4. Research quality
5. Internship/thesis opportunities
6. City life (Berlin vs Dortmund)
7. Cost of living
8. Long-term career growth

If you had both options, which one would you choose and why?

I don't have an admission letter despite the admission given.

I applied for this program early May. Just today my status in the TUPort changed to an admission offer available. Though I have not received any email or a letter with the offer. I accepted the offer and still did not receive anything. Is this normal for this intake? As an international student I need the official notification letter to apply for the visa.

Please help if you're familiar or if you face a similar situation.

Wenn man im Bachelorstudium die die meisten Pflichmodule absolviert hat, steht man vor der Wahl der Schwerpunktmodule. So wie ich es verstehe ist die richtige Fächerwahl eine ziemlich wichtige Weichenstellung für das weitere Studium, allerdings hat man zu diesem Zeitpunkt hat noch keinen großen Überblick über seine Fachrichtung und meist noch keinen direkten Kontakt zu Profs gehabt. Man muss also ziemlich ahnungslos eine wichtige Entscheidung treffen.

Wie sollte man also vorgehen? Wählt man sich einfach irgendeinen Schwerpunkt "nach Gefühl" in der Hoffnung, dass er zu einem passt? Gibt es Informationsveranstaltungen oder Sprechstunden? Tingelt man von einer/einem Prof zum nächsten in der Hoffnung, dass sie/er sich Zeit nimmt für einen ahnungslosen Viertsemester? Versucht man aus den Modulbeschreibungen schlau zu werden? Guckt man sich die Webseiten der Profs und Institute an und wählt den/die sympatischsten? Wählt man das, was gerade "in" ist oder am einfachsten klingt? Oder das, was die einzigen beiden höheren Semester, die man kennt, empfehlen?

Welche Tipps habt ihr, um zu verhindern, dass die Wahl der Schwerpunktmodule nicht zu einem reinen Glücksspiel wird.
