I think the angel on my shoulder took a trip.
Or maybe he had already fallen.
The things I want aren't always holy,
but I haven't heard them protest.
Is it wrong to want a life of indulgence or pleasure?
I'd say not.
But it seems that the only real way to achieve that
is to rob someone else of theirs.
Or, at least,
be the child of those who did.
I don't want that life.
I don't want that weight.
At least, I think so.
But all the counsel I receive
says otherwise.
