Trying to lose weight but I have a serious sweet tooth so I’ve been making lighter cakes instead of cutting them out completely

This is my latest one, layers of sponge cake with chocolate cream and a crumble topping. Tried to keep it lower calorie than the usual versions without making it taste like cardboard.

Anyone else doing this instead of just giving up dessert entirely? Would love to know what other people make when they’re trying to eat better but still want something sweet at the end of the day.
