Two months on GHK Cu: unexpected changes in my keloid scars
Icve been taking GHK Cu for two months, mainly for hair growth, but a few days ago I noticed an unexpected change in the keloids around my nipples.
For background, I had breast surgery that included making my areolas smaller. I have a history of keloids, and unfortunately, I developed raised scars around both areolas, with one side worse than the other. During healing, the itching was intense, and although I tried to avoid scratching, sometimes I couldn’t help it.
The scars were pronounced enough that when I went braless, you could see their circular outline through my shirt. A few days ago, someone mentioned noticing improvements in their keloids while using GHK Cu, which prompted me to look more closely at mine. They’re still there, but they look noticeably flatter and smoother, and the outline through my shirt is much less obvious.
As far as consistency goes, I inject almost daily, although some weeks I miss a day or two. When I first started, I experienced large welts and bruising at the injection sites. After following suggestions from others, I started using an ice pack, applying topical lidocaine beforehand, and diluting with bacteriostatic water. Since making those changes, I’ve noticed less discomfort. I’m sharing my experience here, rather than recommending my routine.
I’ve also noticed my hair growing, which was my original reason for starting. The improvement in the appearance of my keloids has been the icing on the cake. I can’t confirm that GHK Cu caused these changes, but the difference is noticeable to me.
On a separate note, almost two weeks ago I had the worst facial breakout I’ve ever experienced, with pimples that were painful to touch. It happened after I shaved my face with an eyebrow razor, so I suspect that contributed, although I can’t confirm the cause. Since then, I’ve also applied GHK Cu directly to my face and used a microneedling tool. My skin is now healing, and the leftover marks look better to me, but I can’t separate any effect of the product from normal healing.
I’ll try to keep everyone updated over the coming months, especially on the keloids. Has anyone else noticed changes in raised scars while using GHK Cu?
