Hot Take: Andre Iguodala Is the Greatest Role Player OAT

This entire debate comes down to what a role player is. We can’t include Draymond Green as a role player because of his 4x All NBA appearances and 9x All Defense Appearances. Andre Iguodala is tricky, he was for the most part known for being stepping into his position as a primary role player with the Warriors after his star studded stint with the Sixers.

I think overall this makes him a greater role player. Because despite his previous success, having the patience to step into that role makes him more respectable. He sacrificed personal success for team success, a very difficult decision, but one that paid dividends.

His case is straightforward, 1x AS, 4x Champ, 1 FMVP (heavily undermined yet well deserved), 2x All Defense, and numerous runs for 6MOTY.

This take could honestly be horrendous or decent. But from the top of mind, Andre Iguodala is at least one of the great role players ever.
