Type S rear brake pads

I have 15,000 miles on my ITS and at my recent oil change/tire rotation, the service guy at my Acura dealership said the rear brake pads will need to be replaced within the next year likely. I don’t really ever push/drive aggressively much, it’s my day to day commuter I do about 50-75mi/week. My wife’s MDX is still on its original brake pads at almost 50,000 miles and still have some wear to go.

Is this a common thing with the rear pads or is the dealer just trying to hose me?
