Basking Shark in Denmark
Hi, this is my first post ever on Reddit so apologies in advance if I’m doing something wrong.
The thing is on August 7th a basking shark was spotted close to shore at a beach in Jutland, Denmark. It’s 4,8 meters long so most likely pretty young for a basking shark. Anyways, sadly it was found dead on Saturday. We really don’t get a lot of larger animals, especially larger shark and whale species around here. But my question is, does anyone have any idea or guesses as to why it came here? Maybe it came here to die? Since most of the whales we’ve had visiting sadly also died. But what could’ve been wrong with it?
It made me so incredibly sad when I woke up on Saturday to the news, I didn’t get to see it myself since it was a 4-5 hour drive away and even longer via train. But I really wanna know what the reasons could be?
