Ozempic & Zepbound interchangeable?
Background- I am currently on the starter dose of Zepbound (2.5mg) & will be moving up to 5 next week.
I was given an 8mg gold Ozempic pen before I got my insurance approval for the Zepbound. I never used it because I would’ve wasted over half of the pen if I followed standard titration schedule.
I don’t want the Ozempic pen to go to waste, so I guess my question is-
Can the two medications be used interchangeably?
Once I start the 5mg of Zepbound for a few weeks, could I start on 1mg of Ozempic and use that pen up & then switch back to the Zepbound? Or is that frowned upon?
Someone please give me some insight!
